Guys like you make life so much easier in the UA-cam era. Thirty years ago I installed an aftermarket front bumper and Warn winch on my Toyota truck and it was a very trying, learn as you go process. Nice production in an easy to follow format.
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback!… Let me know if I can ever help with anything!
Informative video! Great job on the install, but I want to let you know that the side bracket show at 24:00 should be on top of the plastic bumper tab. If you mount it with the metal side bracket on the bottom, then when you tighten the fastener you will most likely crack the plastic bumper tab. There is a circular ridge on the bumper tab and if you mount if the way you did, it will result in a gap in the clamped assembly and the plastic will crack because of the compressive stress placed on it. After watching the bumper tab crack on the CBI installation video, I contacted them and they admitted that they had installed one of them backwards too.
I like the look of this bumper. It has the look of the stock bumper but gives you a mount location for shackles. Looks great.
Agreed 100%!… That's what I love most about it, it's nothing overboard, just enough… Integrates with the body lines of the front end perfectly, my favorite addition to this truck so far!… Thanks for watching!
I just saw your video, thank you. I installed a Fab Fours bumper winch on my 2012 Tundra by myself. I found it easier using my floor jack to balance and lift that heavy thing while I bolted it in.
You did an amazing job buddy it looks so freaking awesome unfortunately I do not have the balls to try cutting up my brand new HV Limited Tundra with less than 100 miles
I don’t usually leave comments but this is the BEST video! I must have watched it about 20x before and during the install of the CBI bumper w/bull bar and Warn EVO 12 winch on my 2024 Tundra. Everything went smoothly and it looks great. Next step is to tension the line, and conveniently enough, I see you have a video for that too. Great job!
Thank you, I appreciate that!! So glad the video helped out!!
Hey did you have any issues with your sensors? Thanks!
As much as it sucks Toyota didn’t plan for this, you did a fantastic job detailing the process. BRAVO👍🏻
Thank you, I appreciate it!
This mod is almost a must on the Tundra. Cool video
Thank you!… And totally agree, my favorite mod so far!
What they should of done in the first place.
Agreed, but then it wouldn't give me a project to ruin one of my wife's blankets 🤣
Why would you expect tow hooks on a $65k+ 4x4 vehicle when you can spend another $1k+ and a few hours of time to add 1 yourself?
Exactly
@@troyhodulik5542it would have been nice. But I do like the fact they left an aftermarket spot to add whatever we want
Picking up my 23 TRD pro today!
I applaud you for doing such a great job explaining how to install this great mod but to be honest it would be too much for me to try myself. I am way to impatient and would somehow miss a step in the process you laid out. At 62 I have over the years learned my limitations and they are many. I will recruit a helping hand.
Thanks Shane, I appreciate that! Yeah absolutely, if you don't feel comfortable doing it grab an extra set of hands!… If I can help at all don't hesitate to send me a message!
nice blanket...
I was cringing the entire time you were carrying it! Nice blanket. Where do we buy those? Lol. Seriously…great video. Thanks.
Hahaha...thanks man, much appreciated!...my wife is a Spanish teacher (full blooded Italian, never understood how she went that route)....she got that blanket in Spain, which is why she didn't take too kindly to me using it on garage floor 🤣
Your video is perfect! It’s so clear on what you remove and what to do! Can you tell me the wheel spec on as well?
Damn I wish this was standard equipment. Even if you don’t use tow hooks it makes it look so much better.
Agreed, this bumper is money!....CBI knocked it outta the park with this one, thanks for watching!
Excellent Video, wish I had it when I installed mine! Thank you! I used an oscillating saw I think it was much cleaner. After watching several videos, I'd highly recommend it with a good blade.
Thank you, I appreciate it!...yea that would work really good as well, thanks for the feedback!
They don’t put towhooks because Tundras don’t need to be rescued. They do the rescuing. Lol.
The red toe hooks jus add that aesthetic touch that the Tundra needed badly
I agree!...really kinda ties the front end together!...thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great videos. It took me 6months to get my TRD Pro and now comes some excellent additions.
No prob, thanks for watching Roy!... if I can help with anything just let me know!
And congrats on the truck!
You do an awesome job bro. Thank you for making these videos. Looking forward to the winch install video.
Thanks Frank, I appreciate that!… Me too, I want to get the winch on ASAP to complete the look/project and get this thing off the beaten path!
Man great video keep up the great work! Now I must sell my SRT Grand Cherokee to get the 2022 or 2023 Toyota Tundra Pro
Thanks man, I appreciate it!… This truck is hands down my favorite, highly recommend it… Let me know if I can ever help with anything!
Loving the videos man, time to start building out my Tundra!
Thanks man, much appreciated!... if I could help with anything let me know!
That looks like a factory bumper. Toyota should do this!
That's what I love about it, looks so streamlined with the truck...looks like it came from factory like this, and I agree, it should have!
Very good explanation. I'm installing one currently for a customer and this was very helpful 🤘🏻
Great video, I will upgrade my grill to the Toyota one and this video will help tons, thanks
Won’t lie, I am amazed at how much plastic is on this Truck for the cost! But love it anyway!!
Dang......oh man, that hurts my stomach to watch you cut up the bumper........great job on the finish product......👍
Thanks man!!...yea that's what scares most people who wanna do this themselves...but that's one thing I'm never afraid to do on this channel, just start tearing into things 🤣...my father in law used to say one of my favorite one liners, "god hates a coward"...I definitely try to live that way for sure, sometimes to a fault 🤣...thanks for watching!
great vid man 😮
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Absolutely an excellent expert like tutorial on the install, now I'm super motivated to do mine 😆 thx
I'm so jealous of you guys who can do your own installs. I don't have the skill or honestly probably the patience. I would love to have this bumper with the optional bull bar for extra protection. My fear is that it would interfere with the sensors. Maybe no the bumper alone but with the additional bull bar. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Again my truck is the TRD Limited hybrid 2024.
Dude that’s sick!!! Mine will be here after the first of the year! Can’t wait! I’m going to be running the Traveller X 10,000 lb winch! I can’t wait!
Thanks man!...you're gonna love this thing, I can't wait to get my winch on!
Thank you for this! So well done and easy to follow. Looking forward to the follow up.
Thanks man, I appreciate it!!...can't wait to get the winch on!!
You did a great job with the install video. I loved how you taped painted areas for protection. With all do respect...try to stop saying the word "basically". The elimination of this word will make your videos more professional. Thanks for your time showing us this upgrade.
Thank you, I appreciate it!...yea, I have to stop saying "basically" and "actually"...I do it all the time, even off camera! 🤣...thanks for the feedback!
@@NitroZ18Fishing I also had a habit of saying awesome. It took a while to stop the habit. lol
I'm a permanent subscriber! Man you keep pushing out awesome and very informative videos, keep up the good work.
Thanks man, I really appreciate that!!...if I can ever help at all don't hesitate to ask!!
I've had this bumper on my truck since mid October and I love it. I am however extremely disappointed that it's almost completely surface rusted already.
Sorry to hear that.
That’s the challenge with aftermarket mods on the first year of a new generation truck. Even the mods need time for improvements and feedback.
That what I was thinking could happen. So, I take it that it's steel and not aluminum?
looks great! I guess I need to order another "christmas gift"
Thank you sir!...highly recommend treating yourself to this one, my favorite mod so far!
Excellent walk through. Looks great.
i dont have a tundra because not having tow hooks was a deal breaker for me but after this video how can you not want one
Awesome bumper
Thanks Dave!
Another great video, thanks for the step-by-step installation process and detailed description.
Have you noticed, or anticipate the shackles swinging back-and-forth and making contact with the bumper? Thanks.
Thank you, I appreciate it!...not at all, the shackles come with rubber spacers you install between them and the tiedown locations on bumper… Comes with different sizes of the spacers so you get a snug fit where they won't swing… Hope that helps!
LOOKS GREAT MAN!!! cant wait for my limited 2023, first thing imma do for sure.
Thanks man, I appreciate it!...this is hands down my favorite mod so far, love this thing!
Your videos are great! Curious to get your reaction to the less wide coverage of the bumper to the old crash bar width. I can’t for the life of me understand why the CBI bumper surface area is so much shorter than the oem crash bar so that a lot more of the front tire and fender areas are left unguarded during a collision.
Agreed, I was waiting for the re-installation of the crashbar. Not sure I personally would trade off safety for a bad ass looking bumper and recovery points. Nice looking install and great video by the way, thanks for the hard work.
Hopefully Toyota adds those tow hooks in their future Tundra models.
I can’t believe the bumpers is not metal
Love it!
Thank you!!
Looks sweet. Great instructions
Great job! Thanks for posting this information!
Man your truck added up more than $100 k . But nice and good work. I can’t keep up with that what you doing to your TTD Pro.
Thanks Jim!...I'm fortunate to be able to do what I do, and I don't take it for granted!...I appreciate the support!
TRD pro bumper coming soon 😎
Nice!
Do you have the link for ditch light installation on your TRD pro. Thank you!
I'm gonna be posting that video this week!...stay tuned, thanks for watching!
Its just mesmerizing how they call this TRD PRO (OffRoad version) but whole factory front end its held up by plastic extensions and bumper its actually lower then front skid plate so in case of front impact while offroading whole front gets ripped apart before even touching skid plate.
Like the bumper! Looks good bro. 👍 The D-Rings look sharp on it too.
Thanks man, appreciate it!...yea I love those red shackles, match the red accents on the Pro perfectly...and those Uber shackles are no joke!
great video, i definitely be watching it again if i end up buying this cbi bumper, question, what are those 2 holes next to the towhooks? maybe for cube lights?
Hey man, Love the style of your truck and the new setup looks amazing. Im going to be buying a truck and im curious to hear from owners what your experience has been with the 22' Tundra in general and what kind of mpgs your seeing? hope you're well
Hey buddy!...thanks man, I appreciate it!...no joke, this is my favorite truck by far...I say it all the time, toyota couldn't pay me to go back to my 2020 Platinum!...this truck is better in every way imaginable, you won't be disappointed!
Well done thank you so much
No problem, thanks Tom!… I appreciate it!
Love that bumper to man 🤙🏻. Tks for sharing
Thanks buddy!...much appreciated!
great job Man!!
Wow I love those tow hooks thanks for this video
Thanks brother, much appreciated!...those Uber shackles are no joke!
AWESOME WORK DUDE
VERY PROFESSIONALLY DONE AND EXPLAINED
ONE SICK LOOKING TRUCK.
Wonder if they sell the kit for 2021 TRD PRO THANKS FOR SHARING.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎊
Thanks man, I appreciate it!… i'm honestly not sure what they offer for the 2021, I would take a look at their website… They make some high-quality stuff for sure, Happy new year!
Thanks man. Great video
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Wow your Tundra is gorgeous 😢 I can just dream for now to be in one
That’s an awesome video. Quick question. That install didn’t affect your cameras or your sensors or anything right? Everything is perfect? It’s been a year you’re still plays with it? Thanks for the info Man”.
Thanks man, I appreciate it!…no issues at all with the sensors/cameras, everything works as it should!
Wow that look great
Great Job !! Thank you
Oh wow that's really good i'm a fan of your stuff do you know where i can get my hands on that covert bumper
Thanks man, I appreciate that!!...I got mine directly from CBI website...but there's actually several dealers that sell em...I would shop around for best prices...just Google "CBI Covert bumper 2022 Tundra" and you'll get a few options, hope that helps!
Would welding the bracket to the frame be a better option (after installing the bolts)? That way there is no way u might accidentally sheer the bolts when getting towed?
Any idea how much the susspension dropped ? I wonder how much is the weight. I ordered one and it should be here in few days I hope I dont have to modd the front suspension so it can handle the weight better. Thank you for a fantastic video. I will be using your video step by step.
Thank you, I appreciate it!… I didn't even think to measure to be honest, but going off looks alone it doesn't seem like it dropped much at all… If any… Definitely nothing where the suspension would have to be modified for sure… If I get bored enough I'll take it back off and get some exact measurements, wish I thought to do that when installing!
Looks great. Congrats
Looks good. I like products that look factory. Nice job
Thank you!!... that's one of the main reasons I love this bumper, looks like it could have come stock with it… Nothing overboard, just enough… Thanks for watching!
That bumber should come with the truck. The truck cost too much for a V6
All that work for something that should have come standard from the manufacturer in the first place, considering how much $$ these trucks cost now a days.
Agreed!… Would have been awesome if it came like this from the factory!… But on a positive note, at least it gave me something to do 🤣
Looks awesome
Thank you, I appreciate it!
love your contents! perhaps long drive vids soon?
about how many miles have you put in your trd pro from you got it till now?
Thanks man, I appreciate it!!...I have about 11k on her already...time flies when you're having fun! 🤣
Good work man
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Guess this works for SR5models ??
Yes sir!
Very useful video and great job!
Could you please share the link where to buy the covert bumper? Thank you!
Thanks man, I appreciate it!…I honestly can’t even remember where I got mine, they sell them at several locations…if you Google it you’ll see a few options, I would recommend checking around for sales!
On my 21 tundra I had to spend 1000 dollars in parts to install a trans cooler and now what you are going through with the new model is a results of gross In competence by that Toyota engineer Mike S. I vote TOYOTA FIRE HIM FOR LEADERSHIP FAILURE
I appreciate your channel and I have been impacted by Toyotas missteps in engineering.
2006 and 2007 4 cylinder piston ring failure and no trans cooler in my 21 Tundra
I question the ROI and wonder if you should have kept you old truck
I was told by two body shops that you and must recalibrate the sensors when you remove the grill and disconnect the plug. Have you heard of any issues after unplugging the collision sensor?
Shame on Toyota for not doing this. There were tow hooks on the old model.
Thank you for great explanation, Do sensors need to be recalibrate with TRD PRO?
No problem, thanks for watching!… Mine were all good, didn't have to re-calibrate anything… Hope that helps!
i dont see the link to the CBI covert Bumper. can u sent link plz
Very awesome. I watched it like 3 times. Im in the process of ordering this for my 2023.
My question to you is:
The 2 small areas below your headlights. I see you put the Orange strips. Did you change those and are they the lights module, or you just added the orange strips onto the plastic?
And the orange front sway bar. Where did you get that from?
Awesome video. Ima follow your steps when I get mine.
Thanks man, much appreciated!... so the red strips on those areas below headlights, they are just vinyl strips that I applied for accents… No lighting… and the red sway bar is the stock sway bar that comes on the Trd Pro, hope that helps!
AFe sells a red sway bar if you’re looking for the same effect for slightly cheaper than the TRD
Thank you for this bro
Absolutely, thanks for watching!
That was wild for them to not put tow hooks for that price of the truck. Lol
what rings are those? looks great thanks for the video
Thanks man, I appreciate it!...they're the Gear America Ubers, here's the link if ya wanna check em out!
amzn.to/3JaoMce
It’s absolutely shameful for the head engineer of the new truck to omit this. Along with other add ons….then Toyota increases the price…..terrible and embarrassing in my opinion.
Does this bumper work with the Trd lift kit installed? I noticed after they installed the lift kit at the dealership they remove my factory fog lights, just want to make sure this bumper is compatible before I purchase it.
Very nice job thanks
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
this is how it should have came from the factory, its absurd they come with no tow hooks
Agreed!...and agreed!
Can you lift your truck and keep your front skid plate ? Or would you have to buy an aftermarket skid plate depending on height or lift change?
Will this bumper fit the 2023 Tundra? I bought an exhaust and it was slightly different for the 2023.
What's the name of the lay down roll around thing you were using? Amazon link? I need something like that
Here ya go, I love this thing!...use it all the time in the garage, here's the link!
amzn.to/3i2cedq
@@NitroZ18Fishing thanks! Much appreciated
No prob, happy to help!
I wonder if one could paint it with bed-liner paint first, so it won't rust?
I'm sure with the proper prep you could!...I'm considering color matching mine to my Lunar Rock!
Are those factory tires on your trd pro? If not, what size/brand are they.
Thanks for the vid, very informative and I plan to do this to mine.
Hey Tim!...they're 35x12.5x18 Kenda Klever RT's...my favorite tire for sure, I've been running them for a couple years now...better than the "big name" brands I've used in the past...hope that helps!
Where does your front licence plate go
They make bracket kits where you can place it over winch location and flip it up when winch is needed... thankfully we don't have to use front license plates in Pennsylvania but if we did you have that option!
First, beautiful work, great craftsmanship!! Secondly, do you know if this install voids Toyota’s warranty?
Thanks Joe!… It wouldn't void the warranty… Toyota would have to prove that the bumper caused whatever issue you were having in order to deny the warranty claim… Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
@@NitroZ18Fishing thank you.
No prob!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Btw, I installed my CBI Bumber & Winch. Your video was the perfect guide. Thx a million!!
Link for Great America shackles? Please. Awesome video
Thank you!...and no prob, here's the link for the shackles shown in video!
amzn.to/3ZVT7lt
Thanks but i saw your shackles has some kinda black plastic inserts…, you bought them separately?
Yepper!...they come separate, come in a 2 pack and not too expensive, here's the link for them!
amzn.to/3KnqoQJ
What side steps do you have?
I want one of these CBI bumpers so bad for my Tundra but Washington state requires drivers to have a front bumper license plate 😢😢😢
You could still get it!...they make brackets for mounting a license plate over winch opening, and the bracket flips up out of the way when ya need to use your winch!
what tire and lift size? love ur truck
I would of taken it to a professional.
Popping clips I always break them
Which we had metal like the good old days
