I am a Tesla supporter and investor and very much hope to see Aptera succeed. I think Aptera is doing all the right things: unique vehicle design, large target market, open system for autonomy, solar panels. It's doing many things nobody else is doing.

@@rickomatic2012 ah thanks .. I don't know the guy so I was surprised by his massive ignorance ..there must be a reason behind it .. I don't trust it ..
The fact that he opens telling us that he was mistaken when he called Lucid Motors a scam (prematurely working off incomplete information) tells us everything we need to know about this man. He is willfully ignorant, and has no problem calling a company doomed without understanding much about the company, or being brave enough to have a conversation with someone who actually knows what is going on before predicting it's failure. Thank you Steve for showing us this video, and commenting. Ironically, he is probably doing more to promote Aptera than to shoot it down, because as people research the facts for themselves, they will see if the Aptera is a good fit for them or not. Also, looking into it this guy, he is trying to build and sell a single seat "robotaxi" EV, which is probably why he is trying so hard to discredit Aptera.
Dean, I completely agree with your comments. Credibility is built on facts, not assumptions or inaccuracies. Thank you for uncovering what may be his hidden agenda with his other interests. It's really not helpful to promote one idea by making inaccurate criticisms of other efforts. Usually folks like this disappear rather quickly. Thank you.
@@JoeBManco Lucid is a lot more expensive and doesn't really offer anything new to the market. Aptera very much is. I also saw a post yesterday where someone put down a $100 preorder and they were approximately 77,000 on the list. Last I knew when I ordered mine I was around 45k and that was just a few months ago. I can easily see 10,000 pre orders making it to purchase and with the great news we got yesterday 2025 is looking more and more likely as the production year. The next and last hurdle for me to see are the PI models. I want to know everything I can before I purchase. I am hoping they will allow third party companies to review the PI model as a way of advertising. That way we can get the pros and cons.
"Aptera will fail" is the intellectually lazy take on the issue. Nearly every automotive start up fails, so OF COURSE Aptera is a long shot. Aptera's chances lie in the details of its design, the company's leadership, and some unknowables like investor interest, consumer interest, and government policy. He makes no effort to scrutinize these issues using any resources beyond his gut. He may turn out to be right, but if so, it will be because the odds were in his favour, not because he was especially insightful. He and Aussie Ideas Guy should get together and have a beer.

Here is Aussie Ideas Man admitting he is actively working to try and make Aptera fail, even beyond his videos and voluminous comments: "@Dave InWLA About 5 months back I wrote to that CA loan institution and told them why it wasn't a good idea. They are mind-blowingly stupid." . He has seemingly hundreds of comments in response to Warren's Video, mostly attacking those who have positive things to say about Aptera, or that "silly trike", as he calls it. According to him Chris Anthony is a blankety blank liar. I never buy his interpretation of any examples of this that he lays out. He has incredible energy for his attacks. Seeking to engage him in a reasonable conversation is setting yourself up for hours of back and forth. Steve finally blocked him from 'Aptera Owners Club' comments, so of course he rails against him for being an "immoral cretin".
Another naysayer who didn't do the homework, or doesn't have time to do the homework. Funny how that is almost always the case, and how these people ruin their own credibility right along with it. Great video, Thank You Steve!
The forty minutes minimum he spent making the video could have been time doing his homework. I don't know who this Redlich guy is, but if this is the typical depth of his analysis I don't know how he has any following whatsoever. His video could have been 30 seconds of, "Start-ups are risky and most of them fail". EVERY SEC filing is full of warnings about risk and can be easily spun to look horrible!
Objectively, they ruin their credibility, but if their audience approves of knee-jerk impatience and blowing off being wrong, he'll keep doing it. Sponsors as well can influence bias, and all they want are advertising clicks from the audience. Finally, toss in social network algorithms, which favors disagreement and conspiracy for exposure to advertising from all the views, support the nonsense.

Thanks Steve. Glad you’re back. Great summarization of the video. The guy did no research and his concerns about Aptera are general problems that apply to all start-ups.
On the surface he's definitely making a safe bet. Startups are risky and investing in startups are risky and most fail. So thinking Aptera is gonna fail is on its surface the safe bet. Should they fail and I don't think they will it's not like he should be patting himself on the back for being right. It would be like me saying "You won't roll a 20 on a 20 sided die". You roll the die and its not a 20 and you tell the world "Look I was right." I can definitely see Warren doing this if he ends up correct.
"Even if you get the 1000 mile vehicle, you're still going to have to charge on the way." stuck me as a silly statement which told me he's being disingenuine. Admittedly, adding a heat pump to the Aptera would be a nice future upgrade. Aptera is the ONLY apartment friendly EV because it can be charged with a solar battery.
@@williammann7247 Are you sure about that? Can you provide more information about the heat pump? In a Q&A on December 8th, 2021 Chris Anthony stated that a heat pump would take about two years for a vendor to design it for a vehicle and Aptera Motors can’t wait that long. For this reason, they will start out with a resistive heater.
He's one of those guys that always has to explain to you why "they don't know what they're doing" even though he doesn't know anything about the company or the vehicle.
Considering he brought up price, I bet he'd make the old argument, "it will be dead when the Model 2 comes out" which has never been announced even by Elon. Let's just ignore the fact the Roaster 2020 never came out and even was supposed to be given for free to some affiliate link users. I think Markipliers video for that is still up. Amazed nobody is suing yet for misleading claims over a $200K car.

Warren seems to have a big axe to grind. On the plus side, his UA-cam video is generating even more Aptera buzz, so overall it's probably a win for Aptera.
It sounds like he's a very critical investor type. To be fair, I don't really recommend people taking risking investments unless they're seriously okay with that money being gone forever. A startup could lead to a huge jackpot, but it could also completely burn that money away. That's the risk and all you can do is make sure it seems like a legit business and hope others also invest in it.
@@Skylancer727 You are certainly correct in your perspective. I think it is wise to hear all sides of the story whether it be the design and engineering aspect, the business plan, manufacturing, the market potential, etc. A wise investor tries to evaluate the investment by objective data and avoid the personal hype, promises, and visions of the developers. In the Aptera 'forums', it appears that many of the people whether they are investors or reservation holders have never owned an EV before, nor have any experience with solar home installations and charging. The numbers quoted on many marketing data on the Aptera solar generation are only valid in the southwesten states and only during certain times of the year. I think that the other 45 states will have difficulty relying upon just the Aptera's solar generation. I live in SoCal and even during the summer, our solar panels do not generate full power during the summer overcast. If a motorcycle was left out in the daytime, the air conditioning will certainly use up much of the electricity gained from solar generation just to counter the heat in the vehicle caused by the greenhouse effect.
@@SilverShadow2LWB I don't remotely believe that for a second. The thing has a 700W array. Yes I doubt it will get the projected range they suggest, but only powering the air conditioning is highly unrealistic. We're talking a car and many full home air conditioners only use around 1500-2500W. Not to mention it only needs to keep the battery at safe temperatures, not keep the cabin cool. Seeing how most other EVs only have losses of around 2% a day sitting in the sun, that's well enough to get a usable range. Not to mention people seem to over exaggerated the losses in irradiance by latitude. Looking at the government's own pages on solar irradiance, the losses form the highest irradiance to the lowest in the country is 2Kw/m² (4kw-6kw). The losses are far less than people seem to think. If it was really that bad, you wouldn't see those giant solar arrays up in Vermont. Is it weaker, yes, but not world shattering. And we do know it will never receive the full solar output. First is that the panels are fixed which already tends to have a 20-40% loss in out, this case will be similar as facing the car east to west or vice versa will result in only half the panels in direct lighting. Even still, in my area in the North east, estimates I've made accounting for the losses tends to lead to an average gain of about 2.8Kwh a day. Granted, solar irradiance plummets in the winter up here, but the range benefits for the spring through the fall still exist. I will say the 40 miles of range is unlikely for anyone out of the south west, but very few places in the US will be getting less than 25 miles a day and the average US driver only goes 20 miles a day and in fact 56% of all trips are less than 4 miles. People don't realize how short their drives tend to be. I know I take a 15 minute drive to work, it's only 20 miles round trip.
Whilst I am a huge Tesla fan and investor I do wish Aptera well. I don’t see them as a competitor to Tesla at all, I see them as a complimentary product. Hope they do well, it’s good to have a range of different types of EV out there.
Haha, I did the same thing and pointed out some of the interesting things about apterra to which he replied "You must be affiliated with them". He's so lost staring into Elon's eyes that he can't understand why anyone would be interested in anything else 🤣
Electromeccanica solo just shut down and it was even cheaper. People don't want to invest in, or pay 20+k for an autocycle. Even the 40k reservations only put down $100 even if they could make and sell all those right now (they can't they need capital for manufacturing) they are hoping and praying for a 50 million dollar investment, otherwise they'll shut down again. Hard to compare them to Tesla as a startup when tesla was starting there was 0 ev competition. Aptera is competing against Tesla, GM, ford, archimoto, e-bikes, e-scooters and e-motorcycles. All of which have vehicles on the road now, people use. The solar as cool as it is, may not be enough to gain the investment needed to attempt to see if this can even work. I'm highly skeptical of the 1000 mile claim. I'd love to see these make production to test their claims. Right now its all prototypes and promises. It is easy to make a few hand built prototypes, its way harder to manufacture at scale.

Great job Steve! It's so easy to talk negatively about start-ups like this guy. However he should at least do some decent research first. This was a weak argument. Glad you took the time to share some facts!
I think this guy clearly states that he hasn’t done his homework yet he’s making an opinion video about some thing he hasn’t researched fully. Pure genius.😂
I don’t know how anyone can come to conclusion that government shouldn’t invest in things, or put money towards developments of different technologies. If that did not happen, we would not have computers. Hell we would not have really any medical technology that we take for granted today. If anything, so real billet, he should be a focus of countries that are car dependent.
He is one of these libertarian types that believes everything good comes from private enterprise and Nothing good can possibly come from government. Never mind the Internet, and about 80% of medical discoveries.
Zero specifics in his arguments against investing in Aptera. The one thing I would agree is that we are due an updated SEC filing but I expect it will come soon.
Aptera has made more progress faster than any startup with a complex new product than any startup I can recall. If they fail, it's the financial times we are in and no fault of Aptera efforts, product, or progress.
Warren really likes himself. Many of his videos are put out there just for controversy, which he thrives on. Aptera in Warren’s click bait tool chest is actually a compliment. Good Job Aptera, you’re doing great!
I am 64. I don’t do trips anymore. I’ve seen enough and everything I need is within a 10 mile range now. My Aptera will never have to charge. What do we know about this guy? How do you come out with a damning video without your research?
ohn Malcom 12 minutes ago AOC, thanks for producing a rebuttal video. He is a GREAT example of my personal pet peeve, positioning a personal, uniformed, opinion as fact with out valid, objective, research. Further in this case, without having a credible background to form an opinion. then the coup de grace, admitting it! Click bait to get his count up 😠
Steve, excellent point about the solar cells and the 30 mile per day average. His assumptions failed to consider the range still left in the battery. I can’t believe I missed that!
When talking to my mom about Aptera, I pointed this out. My commute to work is 10 miles a day. The solar would easily top that off. I also drive to St Louis twice a month (85 mi one way). That 170 round trip. It would take about 4 days to top that off, which is definitely possible in good weather. Like Aptera said, I actually may not have to charge it ever.
13:52 he is wrong in saying people dont invest when bank run's happen. This is the time investors are looking to park their money in diversified businesses and are looking for good investment too.
Sure, it's not bank runs that keep investors from exploring new horizons, it's their capital tied to something that at the moment sells for less than the price they bought it.
6:01 I am tired of pundits making blatantly dumb takes. Just because he doesnt understand that the solar is meant for daily commuting and not road tripping doesn't mean we don't....
I don't drive my car every day, and on the days I do drive it, I would drive less than 250 miles, and on some days less than 20 miles, so yes I am a light user as I work from home, but even when I used to commute to the office every day that was a 30 mile round trip, and my office has a rooftop car park, so if I ever went back into the office, the Aptera would be perfect for that commute. I would drive to work, park the car and come back to a full charge every day. I live in sunny Queensland Australia too, not too many cloudy days here, so Aptera will be perfect for this market.
Right off the bat he more or less says this is his gut feeling which is silly, not a mature way of making any investment decision, or making any sort of judgement. He did go into details, but skipped over important ones such as the leadership of aptera. Not intelligent.
I watched his video and commented. He's one of those people who just looks at the numbers and makes a judgement based on that. I pointed out how efficient Aptera is by saying that, in one of their videos, one of the 2 CEOs were sitting on chairs in front of the Alpha, reached behind himself and moved the vehicle with one hand. Anyone who has seen an Aptera can see that the shape is extremely aerodynamic. I also pointed out the amount of excitement Aptera has from fans. What's that saying about a better mousetrap? I think Aptera is a better 'mousetrap'.
@@tims8603 rolling resistance isn’t the problem, the lightness and the aerodynamics are. The rear of the vehicle will experience lift at high speeds or high winds. The only thing providing lateral stability is the tiny rear contact patch. Crest a hill, catch a gust, hit a bump, run over ice, make a sharp turn, etc- suddenly the rear wheel breaks free and you’re out of control. Due to the lightness of the vehicle, springs and shocks aren’t going to help. Stability assist through the front brakes might help momentarily, but not for long. Aptera drivers will have to be constantly on guard for road hazards that drivers in front of them ignored. In winter, when other cars are driving in the ruts of previous traffic, the Aptera driver will be literally plowing through deep snow, slush, and ice.
@@dmrr7739 You're just talking out of your ass. It's an electric vehicle with hundreds of pounds of battery under the floor. Therefore it has a very low center of gravity. It's been tested in wind tunnel simulations many times. The vehicle is aerodynamic both from the front and the side. Air will go right around it with minimal resistance. Snow may be a problem in some situations but not many. Where I live, the streets are plowed regularly during and after snow falls.
This is one video where I think you might have missed some important items. You cut the part out about cash on hand as an example. I think it would have been better to hit some of the more objective points in the financials rather than demonstrate so much of his skepticism of the vehicle itself. I do think he is looking at this vehicle through a Tesla lens. I also think a fair summation out of his financial questions and needs for funding is where do we think we are on funding? Accelerate is behind schedule, so they are cash burning in the meantime. While Accelerate looks like a steady growing program, they still need to spend money to keep the lights on. Is the funding outpacing their expenses enough? Republic looks pretty dried up. Where in the world are we on this ATVM loan? That loan can remove all of Aptera's financials challenges and it would neither dilute shareholders nor cause Steve or Chris to deal with control questions. So, are they afraid of being turned down because they don't look financially viable? If they are so close to production, why have they not submitted it yet?
I crunched some numbers last night and figured that if the rest of the accelerater slots are filled with minimum investments, that will result with a minimum of $25 million. More than enough for a successful launch.
Are you sure about that? What's their cash burn rate as we wait to fill those slots? How much will be left if and when they finally get to that point, and how much do you think they need to truly get into production? I'm thinking the can kicking is costing they quite a bit and $25 million isn't nearly enough to get them fully into production, even discounting the cash burn. I'm going to guess and say they'd probably still need another $75+ million after that...
I find Warren Redlich's video to be extremely misleading and I best describe it as being disingenuous as it seeks to make truthful statements to be false. It's regrettable that his opinions are deceptive. If you follow his logic, Aptera would have to have a profile much different than the healthy startup it is. Aptera's strategy is sound and if anything, exceptionally careful. I wonder what Mr. Redlich's motivations are. Aptera is sound and will SUCCEED. Thank you Steve.
He just looks like a UA-cam troll he did not even research the subject matter in which hes speaking on next what a waste of time He should have done his homework making assumptions
I'll admit I didn't make it through the whole piece. Redlich is a troll. No need for accuracy on his part. Good on you for debunking it, but I hope folks recognize a troll when they hear one. (That is a vital skill nowadays.)
It’s easy to look at any startup company and point out all the reasons it might fail. It’s also easy to say things about a car that hasn’t been produced yet. If Aptera can produce some production ready prototypes and validate the numbers then a lot of the naysayers will shut up.
I had the very same reactions. As you pointed out, predicting failure based on boiler plate SEC filing risks paragraphs would lead one to never ever invest in any startup company. But wait, isn't that what venture capital companies do? Redlich has an interesting Wikipedia page.
His whole argument about average miles per day and the need to charge on a roadtrip is symptomatic of his whole rant. All cars (ICE or EV) need to re-"fuel" on a road trip. So what? The Aptera... less often (even for the 250 mi configuration). But he doesn't mention that. Daily driving... sunny climate... the Aptera can get all it's "fuel" from the sun. Over the past year, my wife and I, collectively, have averaged less than 13 miles per day of driving (except for a couple of those road trips). Our longest non-road-trip day was 71 miles. We should be just fine with our Aptera living off solar even in this not so sunny PNW climate (except for those very occasional LONGER road trips -- that's what the battery is for.) He reminds me of a certain "lawyer" who said (paraphrasing) "We have a theory and we're searching for evidence." He doesn't like the Aptera (certainly his prerogative), but he's making up reasons why. At a minimum, as Steve emphatically pointed out, he's applying ubiquitous start-up concerns to Aptera as if they were unique to Aptera. What a dork.
The single greatest advantage Aptera has is range. If they include vehicle to home charging Aptera will be a slam dunk and I will buy at least a couple.
The thing is, Aptera's range advantage comes from efficiency, not a huge battery. So your comment actually makes me curious as to how well Aptera could power a house, or at least a few appliances. Consider this a formal request for someone good at math to do the numbers and reply back to me 😂
@@ZadesLegacy Aptera’s come with a ~25Kwh, ~40Kwh, ~60Kwh, and ~100Kwh batteries. The average American home uses about 29Kwh/day. My home without AC running uses about 5Kwh/day when I am away and 10Kwh-20Kwh/day when I am home. With the AC I can use 20Kwh-60Kwh/day. I plan to get the 600 mile Aptera if it has the ability to provide 5-10Kw to my home.
I would agree but honestly if that is all that it had I would not be buying it. The efficiency, range, solar charging, and novelty of it in combination is what will make me a customer, personally. The same goes for the Cybertruck. I need a new vehicle and I wanted a truck anyway, but I also want to go electric. However, I am choosing the Cybertruck specifically because of roll-away tonneau cover, the built-in ramp in the tail gate, the glass being 9mm resistant, and the exoskeleton. However, I would like the rear window to be able to roll down along with cab access from the truck bed, which it sounds like they are not going to have in the production vehicle which is a bummer almost big enough for me to say, "no thanks".
@4:50 "Tesla didn't have revenue for many many years". Tesla was founded in 2003. Elon joined in 2004. Roadster prototype 2006. First delivery 2008. Aptera was originally founded in 2005.
Right! Tesla's first quarterly profit took years to reach, then more years to get to their first profitable year (4 profitable quarters). But there was revenue from the delivery of the first Roadster.
Whilst Warren could have been less 'grumpy' in his video, he simply stated his opinions on what he was seeing, especially as far as the financial aspects were concerned. The fact they have already failed once is telling, especially as the same team is in charge the second time around. I recall the saying about 'fool me once'... Fool me twice... etc. So I have to agree with Warren on this one.
Maybe he's just bitter because his halfhearted attempt at starting a company similar to Arcimoto never even got off the ground. He talks a big game but is rarely well researched or competent at debating without bias.
He's right about a few MONEY related things (too expensive, risky to invest, 2 years late), and completely unaware and uneducated about Aptera and its management. I hate it when someone forms an opinion without doing enough research. He never admitted its efficiency is the key to everything. It was hard not to yell an expletive every time he had that smirk on his face while stating an alternative fact.
Well I've done my research. I have seen every video from Aptera, nearly all the 400 videos on aptera "owners club" page, and looked into their financials myself. I am very skeptical they will get funding they need, and think they will likely fail. I drive past apteras headquarters every day. GIANT warehouse, in an expensive suburb of san diego, and its basically empty. No machines working, just a big empty expensive office space. A handful of prototypes with 0 means to mass produce any of them. Even after 21 millon dollar grant, they have a 29 million dollar shortfall on starting production. Where will this money come from? Time is ticking? Those big empty office buildings and All the money spent marketing, moving the prototypes around to different shows trying to generate hype.. I hope I am wrong, but I don't see them raising another nearly 30 million dollars, before they burn thru what they currently have.
This guy is now taking a hit to his reputation because of this ill advised video. More haters are to be expected as Aptera gets closer to production. Let us Accelerate MOAR.
I plan to get the 600 or 1000 mile Aptera when I finally put down my reservation deposit. I have invested but am still accumulating savings, unrelated to my retirement so I can buy it free and clear.
One thing I would say about Aptera. I think the directors & board are paying themselves way too much $$ for a as yet non existent actual product . Just my two cents
Daimler Mercedes claimed that the Tesla Semi would have to defy the laws of physics to obtain the efficiency Tesla aimed for… Now it seems the Semi IS indeed bending the laws of physics… Aptera might be the next in line…
I understand that Aptera gets more range out of a smaller battery from 3 components of efficiency: aerodynamics, light weight, and low friction. However, won’t air conditioning and other accessories diminish the range significantly faster than they would on another vehicle with a much larger battery with the same range? If so, could he have a point about the solar function not covering much more than accessory usage, although I don’t know what that extra power consumption would likely be?
@@UnboxingAlyss I think I understand that (perhaps I missed something). But I’m trying to break this down. Since Aptera uses a smaller battery (even though it gets 3x the range of other vehicles) wouldn’t it loose range much faster than a car with the same range but much larger battery would, when using the air conditioning?
The cabin is half the size of most cars and the composite walls are insulating, so heating/cooling needs should be less than half of most 4-5 person cars. The driving ranges quoted by Aptera do not include the solar charging en route, so on sunny days you can still get the quoted range even with accessory/HVAC use.
@@charangohabsburg1 Smaller battery per range. For example: (let’s dismiss solar as a factor for now) If you put a 250 mile range Aptera against another 250 mile range EV, the Aptera will have a smaller battery because of its high efficiency. But let’s assume that the AC is on in both cars and it consumes the same amount of power in both cars, wouldn’t that drain a greater fraction of the energy capacity of the smaller battery than the larger battery, thus reducing the range of the smaller battery more quickly? Another ex: the Aptera’s battery is 25 kWh and let’s say the other EV’s battery is 100 kWh, and the AC uses 5 kWh (I have no idea about actual numbers for power consumption, I’m not an engineer, this is just for example). Wouldn’t that mean that the AC is using 20% of the Aptera’s smaller battery, while only using 5% of the other EV’s larger battery? Would that also mean that the Aptera also lost 20% of its range, while the other EV has lost only 5%?
I want to know more, but honestly I don't think I can stand to listen to his poorly reasoned approach and don't want to give him or his concept the metrics.
@@merrickhurst4150 Its an overengineered single passenger automated taxi service. It will fail. Having not seen any presentations on the product, my overconfident demeanor will surely convince you that I know anything about what I am saying.
I think some publicity from skeptics is healthy. A big channel be the first introduction for many people and some of them will look further. More importantly, many of the criticisms are fairly simple misunderstandings but he does make some good points as well. Hopefully videos' like this and people in the comments will be able to helpfully answer questions and comments from people who don't really understand the vehicle and do so in a manner that attracts them to apteria rather than a sarcastic or combative response that can be a temptation when faced with ignorance.
One of the most polished turds I've seen in a long time! He comes across quite knowledgeable and confident. But he knows nothing about Aptera. The vehicle, the construction of the vehicle, and the innovative engineering that went into it and the company attitude make the Aptera motor company quite unique. Quite frankly my only concern is getting to production before the economy totally collapses.
I'm in the Accelerate program but need to say that I agree that the solar panel stats are exaggerated, and in my opinion, I don't think they should put it in the initial version of the car. Aptera's value proposition to me is a small efficient "commuter" car that gets you back and forth between work and the grocery store in a unique body that is attractive to some people like me. I don't buy Aptera's solar-powered car dream for even one second. It is possible BOTH to be someone that supports Aptera and to also refuse to drink the Aptera cool-aid.
As a counterpoint, watch the video from Engineering Explained, "Why Don't Solar Powered Cars Exist". Towards the end, he does the real world math on the Aptera solar charging. Interesting....
I'm confused: have any Aptera cars been produced and are now sold to the public? The link at the top states 'reserve your Aptera'. So which is it? Thanks.

I think if they can get some cars out there and people see what they are really about, they will sell a lot more of them because only so many people have even seen one or know anything about them
The problem is it's too costly to do that and then have to still invest into getting into full production. Basically they need to get to the point where they can get into full production and once they do that, they can produce a lot more than a few.
He brings up some very good points. My issues is the specs being to similar to M3. Remember Tesla came in a a world with no competition. I hope aptera can start delivering asap but one has to really look at the market and not just themselves. As much I like the car, very few people I know find this car remotely attractive. Most people who by Tesla don’t care about efficiency or all the geeky stuff we car about. The care mostly about the looks
ALL companies, start up or legacy, have to make “Forward looking statements” that if anyone reads them, and that is where they get their data, would have a negative outlook. It is a protection divice they put in place so you can’t sue them should the “factory burn down”
I came to the exact same conclusion as you Steve and like you I couldn’t stomach this guys clear lack of preparedness to render an “informed” opinion and didn’t finish watching his video. It was pretty clear to me after scanning the topics of the lions share of his content that 1. He’s a Tesla fanboy and 2. He doesn’t have broad investment experience, much less any experience with startup companies. Frankly I haven’t a clue as to where he gets off thinking his opinion carries any weight or how and why he would’ve formed such an opinion in the first place. I’m certain he landed in my feed because Aptera was his topic, I regret even casting eyeballs in his direction as he’s likely to cull undeserved ad revenue from this tripe. Oy!
Being that this guy is a Tesla fanboy, he should believe Aptera will be successful. What he's not understanding is when Tesla reaches level 4+ autonomy, automous vehicles will replace airliners for regional travel. All Aptera has to do is use Tesla's self driving technology which Elon said they would license and you have a regional airline competitor on your hands. Aptera would be especially well suited for this with it's long range and larger cargo area and the fact that most road trips don't involve more than two people and if they do just use more Apteras. Still cheaper than airline tickets.
No sophisticated investors? How about Sandy Munro and Google? Warren Redlich is always interesting to listen to, I've been subscribed to him for a while because he's a big Tesla bull, but he is very opinionated. One of his hobbyhorses a while ago is that Tesla should build a gigafactory in Orlando, which is in his home state. That's fine to have that opinion, but Tesla goes on more than just an opinion. Running a business means going off cold hard facts. I don't think Warren has looked into the facts about Aptera.
While I have a reservation and I want them to succeed, I do agree with him that they are likely going to fail. Not because of their product, which in good times it has the potential to do very well, but because of their inability to raise capital in this very tight (and getting worse) lending environment coupled with high interest rates for the foreseeable future. IMO, they will burn through cash too quickly to weather the storm before conditions improve enough to get into production to get it off the ground. Even if they are lucky enough to get it off the ground, not qualifying for the gov rebate certainly doesn't help their cause either. I give them about a 10%-20% chance of making it, and that's only because I think they have a potentially game-changing and innovative product.
I do follow Mr. Redlic frequently so it is really surprising and disappointing at the same time hearing his shallow comments about Aptera, he did not do a minimum homework to get some knowledge about Aptera before negatively criticizing it… Shame on him …
I'm an Aptera shareholder and want to buy the vehicle one day, supposing they can get the gross cargo/passenger weight above 500 pounds. I'm rooting for Aptera as much as anyone, but they have big challenges ahead. Even with the grant and the new crowd funding, they will need *at least* 20m from some sort of big-time funding, just to get vehicles into peoples' hands. They said those deals might be in the works, but, I'm sure the credit market is hurting those prospects. We have to entertain the idea that Aptera might not get to production with current funding. I'm not happy at all, with the weight, the lack of tax credits.
Redlich has his own pod concept he is “working on” 😂. So he already has a conflict of interest. He’s an ultra Tesla bull, that only wants Tesla to succeed (contrary to Tesla’s mission). Redlich also stated that no Lucid Airs would be made. I wonder what that means when I see the Airs around me every week. 😂
In Redlichs defense, the Lucid company is running on money from rich investors with no common sense or grasp of money. With enough capital any company can manage to produce a product no matter how bad it is. Just look at how far Nikola got with their obvious scam. It's a shame Aptera Motors have so few of these nonsensical rich investors because Aptera can stand on their own legs as long as they get to production.
@@YeeLeeHaw Regardless of Lucid's future and their investors or stock market strategy, this obfuscates my original statement. Redlich proclaimed very loudly no Lucid Airs would be produced. That was his repeat bark of a statement. He never got called out for that. He even said the factory was a fake. There is no defense of this. He's a carnival barker looking for activity engagement by controversy to maximize viewer reach/views. He nor you don't get to proclaim his validation due to macro or bad business decisions.
basically he gets to say what he wants, throws whatever sticks, but the multitudes of poop he throws he's not held accountable for. He's only praised for the poop that sticks.
You never have to if you are using it for commuting and have a different vehicle for long trips. For most people that is quite likely. I might take my cybertruck on long trips when I tow stuff and the aptera for short trips.
He brings up points that anyone can see even without hearing the CEOs of the company telling you how great the vehicle and their team is. This simple point is they’ve been back since 2020 with no car still in 3 years. I’ve moved on and got a VW ID.4 because I couldn’t wait another year hoping Aptera would get into production. I don’t see them producing the amount of Apteras they claim. Maybe they will pivot to 4 wheels once they sell enough trikes.
Steve, Great video ! For the record, I am not an investor just an enthusiast who WILL purchase an Aptera !UA-cam put this video in my feed and I smelled troll immediately and did not bite. Aptera should be more forthcoming with its financials and they clearly have not followed through on everything they said they were going to do, specifically when they said they were going to do it. I am fine with that. Aptera is a STARTUP !! They don’t know everything. the economy took a giant shit thanks to whomever is running our country. I think they made the right pivot to their new body design with CPC in Italy. I think it’s gonna be tight for them but enough people have seen the light and won’t let them die. I clearly want them to succeed and will enjoy my Aptera for many, many years. I’m sorry you were troubled by having to review this trash. Maybe we learned something here as a community….. I have seen lots of UA-cam videos that mention Aptera’s that I refuse to click on. Chin up my friend, we all know the score. Aptera gets better all the time….!!!
I was a Aptera fan boy for years. Now I'm not so sure. I believe Sandy Monroe blasted them for having a HR run company. IE: Not a startup mentality where everyone pushed to the absolute limit to make it happen, but more of a 40 hour workweek mentality.(refering to employees more than founders) If that is the case, they have create delay. And they have delayed to a time when a significant recession or depression could be on the horizon. Lousy time to try and launch. Hope it works out. Hope there is funding, and if there is, I hope it's not squandered with more delays. All told over a decade since inception and no factory yet. The word about Tesla is always "The competition is coming!" Well, it's here. There are 200 different EVs available in Denmark right now. Tesla still has 49% of the market. How? Lightning fast adaptation, and git er done attitude. A large percentage of the other two hundred (80 manufactures I think) will not survive. The competition is here, and soon will be dropping like flies!! If Aptera doesn't want to join them, they better get the lead out!!
Steve, good work. Perhaps his real incentive is getting likes on his channel? Aptera's marketing material (that he showed) is representative because the context stated support the R&D. For example, it can generate 40+ miles per day power. The avg American trip length is less than thirty miles, so most won't need to use grid power. That's close to how the DOT describes a commute type trip. ICE OEMs give estimates for fuel economy.
I am a Tesla supporter and investor and very much hope to see Aptera succeed. I think Aptera is doing all the right things: unique vehicle design, large target market, open system for autonomy, solar panels. It's doing many things nobody else is doing.
I agree, they are moving in exactly the right way at Aptera.

He really showed lazy approach to research. Assumptions and arrogance are not good.

I agree this guy does not know enough. Its his option. Im still buying one.
Heat pump cooling and heating is already part of the vehicle!

Warren seems to have a big axe to grind. On the plus side, his UA-cam video is generating even more Aptera buzz, so overall it's probably a win for Aptera.
Really good point, thanks for the publicity. Warren. Also excited that people see through your BS
WR has personal $s behind his “Pocar” concept that’s received NO public/private funding.
Absolutely well said
As do I. Very happy to see fleet order.
I asked Warren a few months ago what he thought of Aptera. He simply said: "It's too expensive" I just left it there...

"I know nothing about startups in general and this startup in particular. Here's my opinion: ..."
Well put :)
He clearly hasn't done any research on Aptera (the company) or the startup world in general.
Right off the bat he more or less says this is his gut feeling which is silly, not a mature way of making any investment decision, or making any sort of judgement. He did go into details, but skipped over important ones such as the leadership of aptera. Not intelligent.
15:15 Sandy Munro also got involved with Arcimoto
I watched his video and commented. He's one of those people who just looks at the numbers and makes a judgement based on that. I pointed out how efficient Aptera is by saying that, in one of their videos, one of the 2 CEOs were sitting on chairs in front of the Alpha, reached behind himself and moved the vehicle with one hand. Anyone who has seen an Aptera can see that the shape is extremely aerodynamic. I also pointed out the amount of excitement Aptera has from fans. What's that saying about a better mousetrap? I think Aptera is a better 'mousetrap'.
If the Aptera is a "better mousetrap" I know why Warren will never get ino one: because he's a rat! 😁
Moving the vehicle with one hand is not a selling point.
@@dmrr7739 Have you ever tried to push a car? It shows how low the rolling resistance is and how light it is.
Where I live, the streets are plowed regularly during and after snow falls.
i thought it did not even merit a response to his video.
😉 ...indeed he does. Aptera will succeed.
We should be just fine with our Aptera living off solar even in this not so sunny PNW climate (except for those very occasional LONGER road trips -- that's what the battery is for.)
He reminds me of a certain "lawyer" who said (paraphrasing) "We have a theory and we're searching for evidence." He doesn't like the Aptera (certainly his prerogative), but he's making up reasons why.
Aptera is the future this dude is the past
I am so glad you made this video. I thought a lot of the same things you did as I watched this Warren fellow.
Lol 🤣 just when Steve concluded playing the guy's dialogue was when I was about to end it as I couldn't listen anymore. Aptera will succeed.
There are no "alternative facts", only lies. Call him what he is, a liar.
@@MikeTrieu Thank you.
An opinion that needs to be heard. I, like many of you, am concerned too. The Aptera is just timely enough to succeed.
Steve, glad you are back. I've been missing many cups of Aptera Owner's Club.
This guy thought Arcimoto was likely to be a success and they are on the verge of bankruptcy. Says it all really!
Great Feedback Steve. I agree with you and wish Warren Redlich would do further research on Aperta.
The solar can actually run the car, AC and all. This has been discussed at nauseum by the founders.
@@astounded4546 What smaller battery? You can have up to a 100 kWh battery in the Aptera if you want.
Aptera competes with his pod car concept. He naturally will be against it.

@@merrickhurst4150 It's basically a gokart station-wagon. It will be a huge success! Invest now because this thing will go to the moon!
I clicked on his video for one second, just long enough to give it a thumps down. I'm rooting for you guys.
I stopped listening to anything WR said a while back. His views on Elon and Covid should give enough indication to how does 'analysis'. What's next!
Steve I can feel your blood pressure rising from the east coast.
All you really need to know about Warren can be found by looking at his UA-cam swag store.
Cant wait to get my aptera.
I hope Aptera succeeds. Only 2 electric vehicles I would be interested in is Aptera & Tesla
So he has not hard Aptera owners or followed details of Aptera but is some kind of expert on Aptera. This is typical US problem.
Interesting....
ua-cam.com/video/7L1_zvqg73Q/v-deo.html
I'm confused: have any Aptera cars been produced and are now sold to the public? The link at the top states 'reserve your Aptera'. So which is it? Thanks.
Thanks for making this video! I couldn’t stomach listening to this guy’s video myself😂 free power had a good spin on it as well. And just a minor thing I noticed was that you’ve been calling the I believe to be called the knuckles (that attach the front end components and wheel) the spider. Hopefully I’m helping in a positive way🤙🏼 thanks again!
Get em Steve. He dont know.
Seems there is quite a bit of unused space on the solar panels, I wonder why not maximising the solar panel area?
He's just arguing from authority; basically, "because I said so. "
Don't click on this kind of click bait, don'd award him with viewers.
I think with the pressure from Tesla price cuts as well as Chinese EVs coming the Aptera might end up being overpriced
Warren is to Aptera what Gordon is to Tesla
With the difference that Warren Redlich doesn't have the slightest chance to ever appear on TV. 😂
It is a protection divice they put in place so you can’t sue them should the “factory burn down”
Warren Buffet said "he invests in people, not products" or something like that. I've invested.
Warren Buffet was right. This is why nobody wants to invest in Warren Redlich. 😁
Oy!
Aptera has the car, oil, electric, and politicians working against them. They don't want to see this car out in the road.
ABC always be charging. My 3 with 300+ I charge often I also run 400 miles on most weekends. Been wanting my Aptera since 2006.
Impossible to know the price, since parts not ordered.
What company paid him to lie and put down Aptera. Typical troll.
Sounds like the guy really did his homework........NOT lol
5:55 its also common that people have more than 1 car.
This clown doesn't like now u know utube guys these fellas are hilarious
Yes, most startups do fail.....some startups will fail twice, that's a rare achievement. We will see if Aptera becomes the latter
