I think you said it best in the last video. They are just wanting Go Away money. It’s what they do. Cheap shot really. Make them pay Aptera’s fees as well.
Wasn’t initially sure but as Steve said, stay granted on basis of ALL 4 factors @4m… likely prevail, suffer injury, complainant will be harmed AND in public interest. It’s not OR as I cynically thought. Great news, great reporting!!! And great timing pre-CES fund raising event.
My lawyer can beat up your lawyer. Frankly, Aptera should cross file a suit for this being a frivolous law suit, asking for legal expenses, and damage to their reputation. This action will go no where, and is only a distraction, however, it is more damaging than Aussie idea man spreading falsehoods about Aptera. Steve, you are doing us all a great service, and again I want to thank you for doing so. Does Zaptera really exist, and of so how long, and where have they incorporated? It appears the only way they exist is if they win the law suit, which is highly unlikely. Since beginning in 1990 the xgames has had several contestants in the Morelli shape, it can be argued that it is public domain, meaning that Aptera has been claiming a patent that they do not need, as it is common knowledge. Offering to abandon the patent filing is another solution. This case is a foolish waste of time, and a total distraction from building the vehicle.
"Named partners" means they're the people whose name is on the door. They generally have the highest ownership of the firm and are typically the best lawyers at the firm.
If you haven't seen the show yet, the HBO series "Silicon Valley" covers just about everything that Aptera has gone through, including a patent troll lawsuit.
IMO the stay is a good thing because it will allow Aptera to focus on getting to production so that there's money that the complainers can go after, but having this lawsuit hanging over their head, it may be dissuading investors. If this is the case there could be some possible backroom deals going on where there's an agreement worked out with Zaptera to just take some shut up money and they will drop their suit so that will make it clear to investors that they're only dealing with Aptera. And of course, this is all speculation. The other case is that Aptera will fight this as they have better standing and won't want to pay a dime and going to court, but will incur a big legal bill in doing so....
This writer gives Steve an 'grade' of A for this research paper. And one would NEVER get from Aptera {WHY?} The sad part is just how much SEV funds are being spent to win this case!
I don’t understand why this is being covered. It was obvious that Zaptera is just trying to get some money from Aptera. It’s, much ado about nothing. Just move on. Zaptera lost and it’s obvious they will go away. Good part are that the lawyers get to suck out money from Aptera. Trust me, there will be other lawsuits. There always is.
@@rngalston- We will forget about this frivolous lawsuit and move on. When they get to production in 3 months and start selling them, other lawsuits will happen but we will be celebrating all of the milestones Aptera has met.
Thank Steve, for your investigative reporting, lots of work and great reporting
It's great to learn that Aptera has top representation in this situation! Good research Steve, thank you.

Always glad to see more Aptera content.
Thank you for covering this, Steve! You're building a comprehensive history of Aptera. Looking forward to a bright future!
We love your research.
Good news indeed for Aptera. Thanks for keeping us up to speed on this.
Nice dive, Steve. Is your middle name "rabbit hole" -- a variation on "follow the money" and "connecting the dots"? You are good at it!
Sounds like the Zaptera lawyers are just a bunch of ambulance chasers.

California Department of Corporations is there for a reason.
Such cases are the life blood of our parasitic legal system

Glad Aptera is well represented. Thanks again Steve!

And its a funny show.
why didn't you read the two page pdf on the pacemonitor website that outlines the reasons for the stay?

Referring to Morrison Foerster as "MoFo". Ded 💀
They refer to themselves as mofo which I think is hilarious

This is comical at this point.
There are partners but they don't have their name on the door. I think. At least that's what I got from watching SUITS. :p
I saw that it was in the last SEC report!

@@billsmith5960 I still don't see how it's good for lawyers to be sucking money out of Aptera.
Is this the local curmudgeon? 😂
