Toy Heart - Austin Scelzo and Charlie Jack Fuertsch

"Toy Heart" is a classic bluegrass song by Bill Monroe that captures much of the essence of what everyone loves about bluegrass, country, and early blues music.
When I was recording "Second Fiddle Blues" in Nashville this year, I wanted to ride some of that powerful songwriting energy and record some song covers with a similar ethos. I recorded two duets with my friend Charlie, and one Louvin brothers song with Vickie Vaughn "My Baby's Gone" which you can hear on my UA-cam Channel.
This song was recorded it as a duet with my friend Charlie Jack Fuertsch, who I met in the Northeast because of his work with the band "The Bad Oats". ‪@thebadoats3745‬ ‪@charliejackguitar‬
He's since moved to Nashville and plays a ton of awesome classic country music.
I spent a month in Nashville in 2023 staying up late soaking in everything that city has to offer. I love the community that I found there- the venues and late night dancing and jamming. I'm eternally grateful to my buddy Christian Mortera who hosted me and recorded this while I was there.
I can't wait to go back this January and February to hang, record some new music, more duets, and feel all that awesome energy again.
