I am always drawn in by the fiddle chop at the beginning of a song, or the beginning of a measure, that lands on the 3-and-4-and or the and-4-and. These are punctuated chops, not continuous bow draws, and they always set the beat - almost as well as drum kit doing the same thing. Is there a name for this style? I hope my description make sense.
