I've just started watching Sean's videos and this a rare sort of bloke these days. Gentle, kind, has an allotment and cats, has crap furniture he finds in the street and charity shops. This is kind of bloke you want as a mate and someone living next door.This is someone who probably makes friends easily with lots of different people and has a lot of acquaintances. I wish you the very best in your new life and look forward to your videos to come.

On Christmas day my granddaughter asked me what my plans for 2024 were, she was told it was the year I put myself first. You put yourself first Sean and keep the faith. When I emigrated 35 years ago (12,000 miles) some thought it was a mad idea but sometimes you have to put your head round the cornor to see what's there, I can hardly believe the years have passed by so quickly, I've been very happy and made real friends. I felt very emotional at the end, it brought tears to my eyes. I've watched some of your Wales vlogs and it looks like you're settling in.
Oh Sean! Amber & Topsy nestled in your top dresser drawer is about the cutest thing I have ever seen! 💕 I have a soft spot for black cats and they are gorgeous! Are they siblings? What’s their gender? Seeing this has made my day! 🥰❤️

Great heartfelt vlog Sean! I suspect the next few weeks/months may be an emotional roller coaster. Hold your course on the difficult days. IMHO you are ‘going’ to something (Wales) rather than ‘leaving’ something (London). You have achieved so much in 3 short months. Onwards and upwards!

Hi Sean, end of this month it will be a year ago I sold up and left London after 30+ years and moved to South Yorkshire. It was hard at first but now I settled down and enjoying my new home. The people up here are much friendlier and more helpful. I am volunteering in a local public garden/park.

Aww good luck Sean, you will be so busy you won't have time for sadness and what a fabulous adventure to start in the New Year with so many new things to do and discover. I moved away from London 3 years ago and discovered the residence group and you will probably have a sharing community where you can get your bed and chest of drawers for free. 2 points Sean for you. I’m an original Londoner and I would move back to Wales tomorrow! I lived in South Wales for 12 years - fantastic place with fresh air. The cupboard with the cats if you look inside it will say Utilityware. This was cheap furniture made post war and could be ‘collectable’ in the future. The cats know!
Oh, I watched this and could have wept! How I miss darling London. I don't care what anyone says - its life and verve, diversity and buzz is so treasured. I feel buried alive here, but can't afford to go back now. I hope your experience is different and you love your new, slow lifestyle. All the best.
Goodness, your London-Eye reaction resonated with me! I moved to South Wales three years ago after coming to the same conclusion at 50 as you -- I couldn't afford a bearable life where I was. Leaving somewhere you have lived for decades always brings a little grieving. I hope you find the same relief and pleasure in a slower life as I have.

I’ve been following you and watching your videos for years and years and I have a goal to start making comments on those who really inspire me I live in North Carolina and I love watching your videos happy new year. I was raised in the military my dad was in the Air Force we moved and traveled every 3 to 4 years so through this story touched my heart it brought back so many years of saying goodbye, but also such excitement for the next chapter. I look forward to following your journeys in your new location in Wales

Thankyou so much for your very moving vid about starting your new chapter in life I myself too is starting a new chapter as I move back into the country side on Mon 15 th where I said goodbye to friends 30 yes ago but now I will see them again a lot older now in our 60s my last thing I'm packing is 5 roses 1 Daphne plant and I small Christmas tree but list seems to keep growing shall I shan't I take this or that any way Sean I will join you with starting healthy eating not a diet but eating sensible and lastly looking forward to coming vids all the best Sean x

I agree Sean about a slower pace of life, l left Sydney in Australia for quiet Tasmania, I had nerves and a feeling of loneliness at first, now I’m in to my daily routine and don’t miss the city or chaos at all, feel more at ease and less anxious ❤

I have loved your reflective content over this winter/Christmas period. it has been really cathartic for me. Glad to see that you have made it this far. Any news on a little part time job up in Wales. I do think that would be good if possible (maybe not straight away), not just for the money but to create a new routine with new people.

Aww that was lovely, good luck in your new home, when you decide the time is right to let the cats out rub a bit of butter on their paws before you open the door, they will lick the butter off and then wherever they go the will leave fresh scent so they can find their way back, it worked for mine, even though my heart was in my mouth waiting for them to come back x

Good luck James i have moved 5 times in my life once from another country which i thought i was going to spend the rest of my life but things change i am now in my happy place got my allotment and a big garden its been expensive but as i get older i find i do not need so many materiaistic things

I moved home two weeks before Christmas and the waiting the week before was the worst. Seems to drag then all of a sudden its happening and it a whirlwind of activity. Enjoy your new home. New year new start.

Just remember... if time is quickly comming to an end....it is also quickly comming to a beginning.
One door closes...and another one opens...with brand new possibilities....waiting for you to discover them. Dont fear the unknown, you have made it 100% this far...you only need to go through it one day at a time. You got this... give yourself 2 weeks to settle in, as long as you have food , water, shelter your cats and a cup of tea, you can create the rest.
Such nice friends… perhaps they can come
Visit you one day. Im sure you’ll get back to London at Christmas or sometimes for a visit. I think this was a very good move. Im new, so still catching up.

How did your cats travel during the move? I have a sister in Melbourne Australia, roughly 10 hours straight drive not including breaks. She's a pet nanny. When we visit, little Sis tells us to bring Kitty-socks. He's a tuxedo. Adult son spent just over half a year harness, cage and car training him. Kitty-socks now loves the car and we stop every 90-ish minutes so he can hear a stretch and toilet stop.
Being a fairly new subscriber Sean, i really felt for you, to leave somewhere, where you have made such good friends, found it quite tearful, but watching where you are now, seems like a good move, your two kittys looked very cosy in that drawer 😊

When I moved, I kept cat carrier in the bedroom, litter tray, food etc during the day
Kept door shut, at night when everything was dark and quite, lights out I opened up the inner doors, she patrolled the place st her own place, it was dark, no unepexted noises

No cafe in the village? You like to cook healthy food and snacks, do you not fancy setting up a snack bar cafe or even a sandwich shop.
Thank you Sean. Looking forward to an introduction to Wales. If you need some city life, you can always have a day trip to Cardiff. I love the Hay Festival and the town of Brecon. Lovely cafe in the Church there. I move to a small South Somerset town 6 years ago from Bath, it was the best thing I did, it's so friendly here and only half an hour to the seaside.
That is a shame, houseplants. I have far too many, just loads but rather a long way
The best life is: living near a wood in a quiet little village with fresh air and also having friends in London that you can visit from time to time. You made the best decision 😊

I've been watching a number of UA-cam videos about the cost of living in Britain....as a Canadian I'm not familiar with term..."council housing...."....do people...not own of rent their houses...?
There is owning houses, private tenants, council housing.
Sean, you have been very brave making this move , I know it will be hard until you get the house fitted out with all things that make life comfortable but you are so resourcefull you will cope well. I hope the cats have settled in and now moved from the bathroom to be snuggled up with you. Good luck, let us all know how you are getting on with this new and exciting part of your life.
