im new to the world of AudioBooks, and for the last 14 days have been trying to fond a fantasy novel, finally came across this, and im hooked, only 2 hours and 45 minutes in, so still got lots to listen to.
I'm a senior citizen, but l chose to listen to this book because l love adventure/fantasy stories. What l don't love is lurid, perverted books full of terrible language. THIS BOOK didn't disappoint at all! It proves that a captivating story can be written without all the garbage thrown in if the author is truly skilled in his craft...as this author most certainly is. Thank you for an excellent book!

The book itself began a little disconnected and out of nothing. Yet still became immersive and interesting.
The readers girl voice even became more convincing as he read.
Over all I liked both the book and the reader. I'm glad I found it and will listen to future books on this channel.
I was really hoping that part two would be finding the source of the water in the bottle.

And 54 minutes. That kind of affected me. I live with my father again because I'll financial circumstances. I lost my mom a decade ago I don't always keep in mind how lucky I am to still have my father and our land. I have a steady job but it's not what I wanted.

Society dictates lifestyle for maximum duplication of needed material products, services and goods. Child care, washing machines/dryers, housing , etc etc. Capitalist Consumerism...

Not really listening closely (using it as background noise while working.) Was thrown off at the three uses of the word 'Protein' between the 30 and 46 minute marks. Its too modern a word for the time period.

@@michaelwebbnovels8351 i love fantasy (dark, high, or otherwise) but really appreciate the tone of this book. I think that its very common today for authors to feel the need to be dark and edgy and shocking to grab peoples attention. As a veteran and then working for a non-profit for human trafficking survivors, I've seen enough of the world to know just how dark and brutal the world can be. I don't need all my books to be hellish slogs about r*pe and murder and the like. Those things exist, and exist in this story, but here, these awful things are clearly depicted in their wrongness, which i love.
Sometimes it is good (in this case, great) to have positive and uplifting themes and characters. I love the genuine friendship between the four MCs so far, Peters family's stoic resolve in the face of desperation, and the kind old neighbor librarian's quiet helping. Thank you for writing an adventure that isn't just a hopeless, shocking gorefest. Looking forward to finishing book one and onto book two!!
@@toomeyeh1 this makes my day, thanks! My goal is to create stories that are fun and exciting, but leave the reader better for having read it. You're right, there is so much dark and hopeless in the world. While my stories do have a bit of that, I try to bring it back around and give meaning to what the characters do. So we start with them thiefing for money, their main motivation is for money to save the farm and get better off. So the book should be half as long cause when they get the source they can just rob about anyone or anything. Unless I missed something but they could of just robbed the bank and moved easily. Loved the book l, just a thought.

I’m really enjoying this very well written it reminded me in the first paragraph of W E Howard ,but then went it’s own style.Only a small irk was when he used “cool & butt “ otherwise you wouldn’t be able to date the book 📖. But very nicely narrated 👍

And she didn’t drink any herself and still got powers.
For the sake of the book they didn’t get elemental abilities but it would have made more sense of the hadn’t established that that’s what the water does it if was immediately going to not do that.
I kind of find history very interesting, to a depth that I cant even understand. Sometimes I just sit and think about it. What it must have been like to create religion, to be a lord, the book of kings- the worship of idols ..billy idol? anyway I often just seem interested in the journey of it all. The sound of your voice and I think that makes the difference between a Lord, House of Commons, Oxford or Cambridge, Knightsbridge or Oxfordshire, you have to have that certain drawl of a sound to think your a Lord in such a meager existence...can this really be happening just the offense of it all !! it just sounds so......interesting. The USA however is something strange in their depiction of history. In some way not all men are the same and you cringe. Especially when someone contradics their own origins....maybe you just have to have a good sense of humor.

Its ok but very clichéd so far
Without competition, the most boring and drawn out story I have attempted to listen to in a long time. How dare this be classified under science fiction fantasy.
Everything is so convenient and easy to find
The author dumbed down the guys and used the same plot again and again for thrills. " Sneek in do something stupid and feel guilty" seems like a B grade morden show which tries to sell itself. The only amazing thing about it is the narrator. He is absolutely amazing. The story though could have been much better without the dumb repetitive forced thrills at the cost of charector development.
Good God it's cliché to the max. Poor imagination and the reader has some problem with voices.
