Beautiful, I love your music and Olivia's too. I have been listening to you guys since I found Pate Pate on UA-cam 10 years ago. Thank you from Virginia, USA.
Lovely rendition. One of my favorites. Thanks for sharing. Your music goes back twenty years for me, when we spent time traveling through the South Pacific.
My all-time favourite song by Te Vaka. Seki to see you recreate it like this! Alofaaga mai Siāmani, always makes me feel a little less homesick when I put these songs on ❤
Love it! I’ve been a fan of you guys since the Moana movie. We, the people from Madagascar, have certain commonalities with your people and culture i.e. music, language, your concept of God, life, death and more. The concept and meaning of this song sound almost close to a Malagasy song “Lemena” by Ifanihy . It’s unfortunately a sad one as it talks about a fisherman called Lemena who goes fishing alone with his canoe to provide for his village everyday. Then, one day he never came back, everybody at the village as usual is excitingly expecting him to come back, didn’t know he was gone, taken by the waves sadly.
Even though i dont understand the lyrics , its still really peaceful to listen
How I wish it had English subtitles.I love it anyway, much love from Kenya❤️❤️
So glad you are still together, doing what is so natural to expressing your stories, feelings, longings connections and culture.

With the meagre resources of Tokelau survival was dependent on the Tautai's ability and skill. The Tautai assumed this responsibility to provide. His relationship to Tagaloa (god of the sea) was one of awe and respect. He asked permission of Tagaloa before, beginning and during a fishing expedition. He calls to him to give a sign.
