But Oklahoma weather chasers (particularly the tornado guys) have some fantastically outfitted rigs.
@@DH-xw6jp That reminds me. When I was EMA, I couldn't call out weather stuff on the radio until I sat through a weather watcher class and got certified. There was apparently a list of people that were certified, so when certain things got called in by civilians, if you weren't on the list, then they just said okay until someone else called in. You mentioned a serial killer dressed as a cop. This exact thing happened in 2020 here in Nova Scotia, Canada. It was awful, but probably something that you would want to look into. (i don't believe there's any footage to review or anything.)

Lol nice
Even his mugshot screams serial killer 😂
To be fair I don’t understand why he was arrested, they didn’t actually catch him in the act of impersonation. He could probably sue.
What would he sue for? They pulled him over for a legitimate reason, they put him in handcuffs because he may have had a firearm since the car had so much real equipment in it. They can charge him with impersonating an officer, doesn't mean it will stick. They did nothing that he could sue for. Then again, this is America.
Other than not signalling, nothing. He might have a lawsuit
@@rogerm3708 he did signal, they just got him on the 100 foot rule that is almost never used.
The standard needed to arrest is not as high as the standard needed to convict. He can sue for whatever he wants, but q lawsuit for false arrest or something similar would go nowhere
He had a TikTok account that he posted videos of him on the interstate with his lights on. OKC Police had a BOLO to find and arrest him. The small traffic charge was just to be able to pull him over. His TikTok account did all the damage.
Maybe you're right donut, but let's not forget the dash cam footage! A lot of those impersonators get incriminated with their OWN dash cams. As you pointed out, he, (and now prosecutors) have a high quality dash cam in his Jetta :p
I've worked on a lot of police cars. I have no idea how he made all that fit. Normally a third party company guts out the whole car and then puts all the framing around the center console and caging. Good job to whoever did that lol
Says he works for the weather service.
He caught hail for that.
They tried throwing the book at him without actually reading the book. Judges hate instances like this where its a charge that has no legs to stand on.
I had a neighbor who was fascinated by police and the authority they command. He would occasionally put blue lights on his car and impersonate an officer for his own enjoyment. He was a really cool dude with serious mental instabilities.
I don’t consider that being a cool dude.
@magnarcreed3801 Yeah, he was weird but he was a good friend.

In Canada, fake cops are not so hilarious. One time, a cop impersonator went on a hectic shooting spree, killing 16 and dying at a holdout
serial killer in training right there... he's got that James Holmes expression on his face in the mugshot..
Extremely late but related and funny- I saw that an Illinois Police Department added a modified Jetta GLI to its fleet after seizing the car from a drug dealer. This guy was ONTO SOMETHING 🤣
Red and blues can only be on a car that is legally registered as a “show car” and if you use them otherwise you will get pulled over
Bruh, she even gave him an out. She asked if it was an old police car. He could have absolutely said yes and it would’ve ended there
Surely they could argue intent to impersonate a police officer, beyond all reasonable doubt?
No rational persons would have all that kit and fittout unless they intended to LARP as a police office and appear legitimate.
Arguing intent and proving beyond all reasonable doubt are two different things. It could be argued he just likes driving a kitted out car, or taking it to shows or showing off to his mates doing donuts in a car park with all his lights flashy flashy.
@@lolzlolz69 He had way to much stuff to say the intent wasn't there and even if up to that moment never tried stopping someone and go full on impersonation it would of been a matter of time before he did and who knows what could of happened.

@@lasko24 A little digging turns out he had been reported to have been conducting traffic stops and the like, hence the probable cause for the traffic stop.
Ignorance of the law is not a legal defence. You don’t have to admit to doing a crime to have done it. If they’re able to prove that he was acting as one and trying to make other people believe he was a cop - that’s impersonating an officer. I don’t know if they have enough evidence to convict but they don’t have to have him explicitly verbally claiming to be a police officer to secure a conviction.
“The lights are on there for private property use.”
Can't charge him for the lights unless he's actually using them.
8:28 I would love to point out that you don't want that "time" velcro strap covering the rod of the tourniquet.
This isn’t amusing. It’s a giant ass warning sign that he is working up to very serious crimes.
I hope they treat it with that priority.
Hey bro 5:29 - tornadoes are serious business, they need to be arrested.
You're right about people getting in police cars and killing people being a big cause of concern. A couple years ago, the biggest mass shooting in Canada occurred when a guy got a replica RCMP car and proceeded to kill 22 people and set 16 fires over the span of around 13 hours. He may have also been wearing parts of an RCMP uniform.
I read that as "pants of an RCMP uniform" lol.
"You don't look like a mountie."
"Check out the pants, eh."
"Oh right, soory aboat that, officer."
Is this that dude I been seeing everywhere impersonating a cop and repeatedly keeps getting off?
Why they messing with the captain. That's his space ship. He's the captain. What a moron.
I haven't seen any comments about what this guy was probably motivated to do this not because he wanted to be a cop, but he was hoping to pull over a young woman on a deserted road.
In Oklahoma, it’s extremely common for storm chasers/spotters to have amber and/or white strobes. I personally have them on my Honda Accord along with HAM RADIO antennas. It’s absolutely necessary to ensure our safety as we help ensure the safety of citizens. HOWEVER… red and blue on the front is completely illegal, and he should know that. The other stuff is circumstantial, and I think these female cops’ egos are out of control. If he didn’t claim to be an officer hasn’t tried to pull anyone over, these charges are a stretch. I’ve had multiple encounters with police from local municipalities, the Mayes County SO, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and they all have known the law and not one has ever harassed me. I’ve been asked if it’s a patrol car (probably a test) and where I got my antennas, and I answer honestly. No issues at all. The police around here respect us and what we do as long as we’re staying in our lane. 😊
This sort of behavior escalates, like people who kill small animals for fun when they're young. This sort of behavior should automatically bar a person from buying a gun or having a drivers license.

In Florida you can have red and blues on your car. Just can’t use them in public only private property. I had a sports car with purple under glow purple light is made from the combo of red and blue lights. But purple is legal too.
These cops def need more training. He should sue the officers and go to internal affairs with this incident. He did not impersoante. Impersonating is inducing another to submit to your pretended official authority. He broke the law of an "equipment violation" which is a ticket. They arrested him and illegally searched his vehicle just because of how his vehicle looked.
A steady diet of nuggies can do terrible things to your body. This guy is so androgenous I'd have not questioned the officers or donut if you'd said woman and she this entire time.
Fun fact the road work trucks and snow plows have red and blues in Oklahoma he would have probably gotten away with it if he said he was a road worker
Back a decade or so ago, the Washington State Patrol pulled over a professional basketball or football player on I-90 somewhere west of Spokane for speeding (really fast IIRC). On inspection they discovered he had wired his brights so that when he flipped a switch they flashed alternatively left, right. And it is illegal in that state. Looks like that sort of thing is illegal in Oklahoma too.
I'd love to use flashing blues just to get people out from in front of me in the passing lane on the freeway. But it's illegal, sadly. 😜
Lmaoo a Diesel jetta I'm dead 💀
It's fun to impersonate a police officer when you are six years old. I know from personal experience. I took my grandfather's badge and gun when I was six and arrested a man jogging down the street at gunpoint for being out past his bedtime. When you are an adult and are impersonating a police officer, that is known as mental illness. The ironic thing is that I had a real gun and a real badge, and he has a toy.

That's because there are no Volkswagen police cars in America.
Exactly almost anyone can become a cop
I can't imagine putting that much effort into wanting to be a cop and not actually going out to try to be a cop.
1. He'd probably fail, because the PD doesn't need more psycho, and 2. He probably doesn't want the responsibility from being a cop - a regular armchair-cop.
He doesn't want to spoil the fantasy with reality.
I dunno, I've been told that some of the unlikeliest-seeming people who start the training turn out as excellent cops, but who can picture this guy being the first responding officer at a bar brawl and needing to impose control on the situation?
