The Andy Griffith show was one of the greatest, and when the Dillards were on an episode it was all the better still. Wish I could go hear them play now in Branson.
I loved the Dillards on Andy Griffith when I was growing up. I watched that show every week and hope that the Dillards would sing a song. I still watch Andy Griffith re-runs on tv and love it when the Dillards sing. From a big fan in Maine.
I LOVE THIS SHOW THE ONLY SHOW THAT I WILL NOT MISS ON TV AND ITS BEEN 50 YRS NOW... EACH EPISODE IVE SEEN 50 TIMES... I MISS THAT ERA AND THE TIME OF OUR WORLD.... GOLDEN YEARS. TODAYS TV SHOWS ARE SICK, FLAT, NONE SENSE AND MIND DECAYING STORIES... MORE POWER TO US OLD TIMERS. 🙏🙏🙏GOT BE WITH U ALL.
Grew up watching Andy G. Now that I'm semi-retired and watching reruns, I appreciate the talent these guys had (And Charlene) Loved their "dopey" look too..lol
Not Long ago I was in Branson Missouri at Silver Dollar City. Over behind the Wilderness Church there was a little outdoor stage where someone was playing Bluegrass. I walked over and sat down to listen and learned something I didn't know. The guy singing played Dooley and then asked the audience if we had ever heard it and where? I naturally raised my hand and said yes on the Andy Griffith Show. He said and do you know where they were from. So the obvious answer I thought was North Carolina. That's where I was wrong they were actually from the Ozarks near Branson. So I learned something that day. Either way it was a good performance the guy put on that day. I'm sure the Dillards would have appreciated it.
It would not have been the same show without the darlings a.k.a. the Dillards. Those are the best of all the Andy Griffith. It wouldn’t have been the same without Barney fife, or Otis Campbell or Andy Taylor or Opie. What a great show. hallelujah and praise the Lord for them
I loved these guys in the AG show, and Denver Pyle felt right as their Patriarch and leader. And I appreciate Rodney Dillard's frank and honest assessment of Andy Griffith. And I enjoy Bluegrass. Keep playing it guys!

Listening to these guys as a little kid in the early 70's started my love of Bluegrass music. I am forever grateful to them for that.

The Darlings were awesome in both Television land and reality. Denver Pyle who played the Brown Jug, was just icing on the parts.
