Cincinnati Football is on the Rise... Here’s Why

- There is a lot of excitement going on in Cincinnati, Ohio in terms of sports. After being average for the last few seasons, the Reds are continuing to build a competitive team and have a really god pitching core. The Bengals just drafted Ohio’s own Joe Burrow to lead its team for the foreseeable future, and they have some really good pieces on offense surrounding him. And then you have the Cincinnati Bearcats basketball team who finished 1st in the AAC this past season. But the Cincinnati Bearcats Football team is on the rise, and over the past few seasons, they have a total of 22 wins, but yet nobody is talking about them. Cincinnati football is definitely on the rise, and deserves more attention, and in today’s video we’ll be looking at how and why they are on the rise.

As a lifelong Ohio State fan and a student, I would love to see Cincinnati football continue to grow. Would love for Ohio State and Cincinnati to become rivals and play each other every year out of conference.

I was at all of our home games this year, anyone who really watched the games closely knows that Doaks is better than Warren, and our WR core is so deep. I don’t think our offense will regress at all, in all honesty I think it will just keep moving forward. Everyone is excited to see Prater.

I think the 4 GO5 schools with the best chance of the NY6 bowl are, in order:
1: UCF- With a year of experience for Gabriel at QB, and a 3rd year HC, this team is primed for another undefeated regular season. Just watch.
2: Boise State- with a healthy Bachmeier, and a light schedule, Boise is, as always, a team to watch in the MW, and for the NY6.
3. Cincinnati- With a great, 4th year HC (discounting his 2011 OSU interim job), and another veteran QB, UC could do some DAMAGE. None of their games are unwinnable.
4: App State- while it'll likely be a down year for App State, due to a tougher schedule (Wake and Wisconsin in B2B weeks) if they can beat both, they'll be able to afford a loss and still be able to make the NY6. Watch out for App State as a premier GO5 team.
As for a dark horse cntender for the GO5 spot, how about any of the 3 service acadamies? All are great programs, even if Army had a down year last year. And while the language in the GO5 clause says "conference champion" I'm sure they'd go with Army for the GO5 if they were the most deserving.
As a final aside, Memphis is not included here because they have a first time HC, but they too could make a run; they're just not as stacked us UCF was in 2018.

I truly think it’s a 2 man race between UC and UCF. Boise State is in a disappointing conference, and I truly think an undefeated Boise State wouldn’t be as impressive as a 1-loss UC or UCF

BOGO Gaming MW ain’t a cake walk. Wyoming, Airforce, are to be reckoned with in the Mountains, and Fresno St and SDSU are scary from the West. Utah st is usually a tough opponent and Hawaii has a potent offense.
Jank Paul I know, it’s no disrespect towards the mountain west, it’s just that I think if you line the conferences up from top to bottom I think the AAC would win almost every matchup. It doesn’t mean MW is a bad conference by any means, it just means that Boise State and other MW schools usually just have a lot more to prove

I fell in love with Cincinnati doing a RTG and Dynasty with them on NCAA14 and caught a few games last season.
If they play games this year I need to see them play. The program is one that has had some good moments so its not crazy to see them be good. But this was a really good video Jason!! Keep doing these.

As a current UC student, I love this squad. I really hope Bryant can play more. He’s a super smart player and really looks out for every option. Ridder has been disappointing. However, we only lost 1 starter on defense this past year, so I’m excited to hopefully continue our defensive game. Let’s go Bearcats!

He had offers from the bottom feeders of the Big Ten,ACC, Pac 10 and what is today the Big 12 (and the SWC). But chose Harvard... Crazy. Mur[hy is the one that got Cincy off the snide...
Cincinnati Bearcats 1 of 5 schools with 15 Bowl Games and 15 NCAA tournaments in basketball since year 2000 as for Fickell year 1 never matters because none of them are your players. Its year 3 thats most important IMO and hes done more than good

How exactly does it remind you of Utahs rise? Utah rose in the 2000s and have sustained it. Cincinnati has had MANY ups and downs this century cuz its been a stepping stone for so many Power 5 coaches
@@RyanCooperSupporter It reminds me of Utah in the way that Utah was a Group of 5 team (in the Mountain West) and starting in the early 2000's really started to dominate for a few years. Both 2004 and 2008 were undefeated seasons for them, and they also claimed a couple of MW titles on the way. It didn't take long after a decently sustained period of success for Utah to become a Power 5 team, and I guess I view the Bearcats as being on a somewhat similar trajectory. I believe that Cincinnati will become a Power 5 team during the next round of conference realignment.
P.S. Utah was a stepping stone school for Urban Meyer in 2004, but Kyle Whittingham was able to take over and continue the success that Urban had there for the most part.

I played against Evan Prater he’ll be a great qb at UC. I was thinking they might get Corey Kiner from Roger Bacon, but he had just commit to LSU.
You should do rise and fall of ole miss. How they ranked in the top 3 and had a chance to go the natty. They beat Auburn and and LSU they make it. They lost to Auburn by 4 and lost by 3 to LSU. They beat #1 Bama. Now they won’t get a bowl game. I wonder what happened

Pretty good overall view of the program. It'll be interesting to watch the LB core since we lost starters in Wright and Perry. I'm not too worried as that's Freeman's specialty and I'm sure he can get those guys to compete and perform. Will also be fun to watch MLB with Huber coming over. He was a TE but showed that he could play LB like he used to in high school.
I'm not nearly as worried about offense as others are. We've completely overhauled the WR room to hopefully get more production. Having a much more solid line with starters back at almost every position and Hudson at LT should also help improve the passing game. Ridder never had much time to pass last season. Also, the line should commit a lot less penalties. That handicapped us so often. Another big thing, and something you definitely should have mentioned about Ridder, is that he played injured almost the entire season. He was injured in the OSU game and injured again the USF game.

I lived in UCINCY through two football seasons and developed an affection for the program and high school football in the city. That high school talent is foundational to future success. If the program can snag **** and ***** in OH or elsewhere, particularly "down south". I'm hopeful the program wins annually a BIG SIX bowl.

I would wait till after this season and do one on Nebraska. The last coach Mike Riley could not have destroyed our program more, but in just year 3 under Frost Nebraska is predicted to have one of the best offenses out there

Awesome, they do play weaker competition, although the MWC has some good teams buried in the ranks but its a testament to Boise to still punch up and knock off teams like Arizona, Oregon and Oklahoma
