ᛏᛟᛟ᛫ᛟᛚᛞ ᛏᛟᛟ᛫ᚲᛟᛚᛞ The era was like a door, not enough bands could fit through it at the time, but it was great, we honestly need another one for the whole world. There's apparently a new wave called "The new wave of traditional metal" but the bands seem really crap.
Fantastic song. I was fortunate to get it on a Japanese edition of "A Time Of Changes" as a bonus track, along with the 1981 version of "Blitzkrieg". I agree, the vocals are kick-ass!
Senseless slaughter, hung his daughter And then he went to sleep Tommy gun, saw the sun And then began to weep Travolta style, he danced a mile Then fell down in a heap He wondered why, he could not buy The people that were cheap Take me to your hearts! The greasy dog, drank the fog Then rolled on down the street The leather prince, he turned to mince And left behind, his feet Poetic frog, became a hog And wallowed in the sty And betty bright, screamed all night Then walked across the sky Five foot mike, fell on the spike That pierced his left hand He wore the hood, and dripped his blood Along the golden sand They saved his hide, he almost died Thanks to brave old clive And none did frown, as they laid him down And buried him alive
@FrostyStoners Dude, that is absolutely true. But you know what was one positive thing back in those days? People who liked hard and heavy rock were not nitpicky, hairsplitting idiots. There weren't that many bands and it was so hard to sniff out new ones, that it was commonly accepted for people to dig everything from Black Sabbath to AC/DC to Aerosmith to REO Speedwagon to Hendrix to Kiss to Zeppelin. It's all rock 'n' roll, people!
actually, back in the day when radio wasnt monopolized by clear channel radio. they changed the face of radio by ruining it. back then, dj's were able to play their own music mainly from time to time. when clear channel took over the airwaves, they mandated a predetermined and approved songlist based on performer, record label and such. everything you all listen to on the airwaves these days is what they want you to like. as far as other venues to find good music, online is always best.
@FrostyStoners it makes sense, sure we have more access 2 metal now, but what your forgetting is there was a whole different lifestyle back in the day. they were the golden days of hangin around your local record store, and drinkin with your buddies while listening to the newest metal demo or single. its all digital now. each view had pros and cons, and neither is right or wrong. 2 each his own
I agree. I love Diamond Head and Blitzkrieg to death but I can never fucking find their albums because they were fairly underground acts. It pisses me off so much.
@allery9 When people say European Metal, I instantly think of Power Metal as the movement that characterizes it the most. The style came out of the NWOBHM but was mostly populated by bands from the continent. Bands like Helloween, Stradivarius, Blind Guardian, and the plethora of Italian bands were a force in the mid to late 80s, and made a very European sounding music. And its not "English" its "British" otherwise it could be EHM - English Heavy Metal...
@@Lizardman-d5j Thanks so much, I see they are the UK version, Over the years 7 different bands used the name Blitzkrieg, now I know they are the United Kingdom version I see they have 10 albums some EP's - Live & singles, Thanks again.
It's not really about Metallica as it is about Lars. Lars was onto the NWOBHM before he even met James. Lars LOVES music, and he loved his early heavy metal from England. That's why he is awesome.
Metallica were hugely influenced by NWOBHM, and mention it every chance they get. They didn't "steal" the sound. Plus, if you were to say they stole any single sound, I'd say it was Diamond Head before Blitzkrieg.
@sodomisticthrash Wouldnt say they copied Europian bands, since there was quite a difference between their style and the euro bands, but undeniable influence though. On a serious note, why does Metallica covering a song that they really liked, from a band they really liked, before they were anybody generate so much hatred? I always thought it was pretty cool they wore their influences on their sleeves. But hey, it prolly just hurts you to give them any credit like the rest of the new millennium
@M08bballer lol ya, the gay scandinavian 1 is wat im talking bout, i wudnt call it gay though, more like, dreadful, thers very few bands from that area that are actually decent, id say the good black metal was Venom, Bathory,Celtic Frost/Hellhammer,Emperor,Samael, and thats about it for me

stop comparing these NWOBHM gods to metallica. they are fuckin different. yes, we know that they where a big influence to metallica but this doesn't mean that we should compare em. just bang your head and dont give a fuck about anything.
@disturbedspike Overrated, nah. If you were there when it all went down, you'd understand. Kill em all was a more of a Power metal album. But either way Venom, Sodom, and alot of other bands were playing fast before Metallica...and where were they all from? Europe. They were the first American Band to up there tempos, and no, Slayer, Exodus, or anthrax, or Overkill werent playing as fast as they did later until they saw Metallica play. You seem set against Metallica, did they piss in your food?
sepulmattica1 Sodom didnt release anything til 1983 in their demo, no way were they playing before metallica, and KEA power metal? nah man speed/thrash metal fits perfectly
You find the true pioneers of 'heavy' metal through the obscure demo tapes that do little more than collect dust these days.
+Baphomet hey nice name
Baphomet you don't think sabbath is the true gods?
42 years later, still the greatest battle music
I love finding gems like this. Great bands that never took off. Its a shame!

@RottingHellrat yes, his name is Brian Ross, he worked with both bands
New Wave Of British Heavy Metal
Indeed 👍
fantastic........
Amazing how Brian's voice has evolved. He sounds good here, but now he's one of the greats.
My ringtone !!!!!
