Del’s death was shocking. Especially considering how bad ass and invincible he seems during the earlier episodes. But that’s exactly what I like about this show the fact that no one is invincible and anyone could be easily killed by a single bullet it really makes the show feel more realistic and keeps you on edge the entire time
I love how spontanious the deaths are in Ozark. Not just Del but a bunch of others too, especially the ones involving Darlene. They're in the middle of a sentence and then BOOM. Gives me a bit of a jumpscare every time but at the same time I kind of expect it to happen.
On season 3 now . And haha I have to say Buddy killing Garcia is still one of the best most satisfying scenes I think that scene really solidified The Byrd’s seeing Buddy as more of a friend who cares for them and set up Jonah and Buddy to have more a friendship in season 2 which was so awesome I feel like buddy lived his best final days with thrill and excitement with his new found friends . Such a great character Arc Edit : finished season 3 now and Ughhh need a season 4
Jcasta8 what do you mean ? The hole where Garcia fell into when he got shot ? I think it’s just a certain design in the house because it’s an older house. I’m not sure it would have a specific name anyone correct me if I’m wrong but what hole exactly are you referring to ?
(6:18) "Goddamn it, Darlene, you just cannot be doing that." Given the context, this is one of my favorite lines from the show. It's so understated, like he's scolding her for re-gifting a Christmas present from her mother-in-law.
For whatever reason, Boyd's death made me particularly sad. Russ too, but for as much as Boyd came off like a scumbag early on, I always appreciated his love and respect for his brother. The part with them fishing and him basically inferring to Russ that he knows he's gay and accepts him, that part always stuck with me. He didn't seem like such a bad guy either, even when he went along with the plan to kill Marty, he showed clear reluctance to have to hurt him. RIP Boyd/Russ
I still can’t believe Bruce had the balls to steal money from them after what they did to their previous money launderer, probably he was safe cause he had Marty in his corner.
The fact that anyone could die at anytime makes this show so much more tense, i expect things to happen and they don’t, but when im off gaurd somebody dies.
@@MrNuclearturtle mehhhh she only did that to manipulate Ruth into joining her little organization. She killed her husband, what do you think she will do to Ruth once she doesn't agree with something she wants to do.
@@meast21 Agree definantly, at one point ruth will try to get Dwight out of there and she'll intervene, where ruth will ened up having to kill here. But there is some semblance of loyalty here, not many people would have the bollocks to castrate a mob bosses son with a shotgun and then make a deal with them with full admittance of the act whilst threatening all out war, let alone a 60 year old woman, and she did it for the sake of dwight more than anything. She also offered sanctuary to Ben, even though hes blood to Wendy Byrde a woman she hates and was also hunted by the Cartel. She is evil and has no issues killing people to suit her agendas, ie her own husband and the preachers pregnant wife, but there is loyalty to her........when you dont cross her
That first scene with Darlene is so incredible. The focus is placed squarely on Jacob and what he is gonna do, it completely distracts us from Darlene and when she drops that glass of lemonade we could never see it coming. Then she shows her true colors and brutally murders the strip club owner without any remorse. All the while Jacob hasn’t had to lift a finger or give an order. Absolutely brilliant.

@@roastbeefy0weefy there has to be a better name than like a koi pond. It was open to the front yard and it's very intriguing. I thought it was a window well but it is something else
Garcia’s death might be my favorite scene in the entire series. You can tell that as soon as he lays eyes on Buddy he knows he’s fucked. The “is that so” is just bad ass.
Fucking darlene, such a love hate relationship with that character. She's awesome for not giving a fuck and being direct, but she's also the biggest psychopath in the series.
I know this is kind of messed up on my part, but I wish some of the villains had slower deaths. Sure it's not realistic, but seeing them suffer is pretty satisfying. Helen for example.
you know why del never turns back to look at the victim? it's not because he was used to it, he wanted to see how they would and del liked how marty reacted, while he didnt like the other guy, maybe in a sort of way training him to become a cold hearted person to the end he did, at the first episode he said "i'm willing to roll the dice on you"
This show popped off so hard in the pilot. What is it, 5 deaths in the first episode? That scene of Del executing everyone is truly something else. Although “sugarwoods” death is kind of hilarious to me. Just the timing. Marty pumping himself up talking about lawyering up against Wendy then SPLAT! Maybe I’m just a sicko
The endless misidentification of tolerance as weakness. The failure to understand that 'darkness and evil' aren't unique concepts that exist only for opportunistic bullies. Del's reach extended beyond his leverage. "A man's got to know his limitations." ~Harry Callahan.
Most of the people blaming the Byrds have themselves to blame as well, but... when you see 3:12, you just gotta feel like they really are a curse to whoever they work with.
The episode when del intercepts Wendy and Gary the lawyer was spooky as well because it kind of closed on that first episode... where he makes Marty finally answer the question
Never heard of this show; just checked this video that came on my feed to see what it was about. Still don't know, but that scene at 6:28 where the angry old woman with her hands over her ears doing the la la la la that got whacked by the truck was rather hilarious.
Do yourself a favor: finish up S1 even though you've spoiled the deaths for yourself (still definitely worth watching), then move on to S2 & S3. I promise, many of the deaths to come are just as good. I've binged the entire series over the past week or so and it's the best TV watching experience I've had in a while.
I agree. But I think after you see something like this, you're not going to be willing to back out of the agreement. Don't want to piss off an already angry man.

Nothing will top that first episode. So intense.
Stick around.
@vishal mellark I'm halfway through. Guess i need to hold on to my butt
@vishal mellark Exactly right.
@vishal mellark I still haven't changed my mind about that first episode, but yeah, those last two episodes were intense.
just started and it’s so good lmao
Del was the most intense character in the show. Everyone froze when he entered a room.
They killed him off too soon.
Hopefully someone will replace him in the next season as an intimidator?
I really like Navarro
I think Navarro is more intimidating
James Jones nah lol Navarro is better
Man shouldn’t have messed with the great Darlene

Sam's mom's death is definitely a dark comedy moment.
Yeah. It felt campy. Plus how did the truck not having enough time to stop? It's not a train, and was far enough away.

Buddy coming out of nowhere and taking out Garcia was amazing, jumped out my seat when he saved the Byrd family.
Took him out like a true gangster.
Snowfall is better
Don't lie, nobody expected Del to die right there. Better death than Leo in The Departed.
Good comparison, but Leo’s death was definitely heartbreaking
I didn't see it coming before that scene, no, but the camera angle refusing to show the Snells made it pretty obvious what was about to happen.
If you paid attention throughout the season then you knew Del was fucked as soon as he said "redneck." What an amazing show.
@Klik B I felt no connection with Leo in the Departed, his feelings and motives were unclear the whole movie
I’m not gonna lie I jumped so hard you would think this was a scary movie
