Novellist is the one horse I would've liked to have seen in the Arc field in 2013 that didn't get to run, and it's a shame he didn't because the Arc had always been the long range goal for him that year. I'm not sure he would've beaten Treve either that day, but I think it's fair to say his King George win at Ascot was just about every bit as impressive as Treve's Arc win was, IMO.

O Peslier took it very easy on him, obviously under orders ,i wouldn't be too worried,at 7 i might be getting harder to get him race fit and i read somewhere he is even bigger than last year, possibly stronger than ever but like you said it wasn't the strongest field and that has to be taken into account

This video doesn't show it, but while walking around the starting gates, Novellist gives Joshua Tree a fairly hefty kick to his back right leg. Although a random coincidence, the kick did take out a pretty major competitor.

Good horse alright but Arc winner, doubt it they were coming back at him here. The King George form is over rated, wasn't best field tho time fast as sometimes happens in that race. American races would be easy meat but do they want to go there after long season. Travelling wastes some horses, like Dylan Thomas why did they send him on those stupid races after the Arc.
