Let's be honest content updates from PA have always been average at best and often trash. However the community has always been able to make its own content through OW pvp, NW, innovative lifeskill and common marketplace strategies etc. At least we used to be able to do this until PA systematically wrecked everything in order to railroad us into doing their trash content and nothing else.

If there was a single developer with a single game that ticked all the boxes for everyone - we'd all be playing that.
There has never been such a thing and very likely there never will be. We, as a group, want too many diverse features/functions/content.
You came to BDO from something else. At some point you will move on to your next passion. No game and its interest lasts forever - although some have been around much longer than others. Sometimes we go back to something we left out of nostalgia(?), but again, we don't stay.
We are a fickle and diverse lot. We, ourselves, change over time which can leave us unfulfilled with a game we previously enjoyed. The things I wanted from a game when I was in my 20s are not the same as when I was in my 40s or even now at age 65. The concept of what is "fun" is dynamic and subjective.
Don't keep making yourselves unhappy by sticking with a game that you do not enjoy. Hoping for a change/improvement/etc. is a waste of your time (and resources.) The clock is ticking for all of us and eventually that *Game Over* sign flashes on your forehead and that is that.
Between now and then, invest your time in what you find enjoyable and realize that you cannot change something, a game, into something it is not. Never forget that you will likely never find a game that is your "grail." Your forever game does not exist - at least not yet. Maybe the real fun is in the journey of discovery? ;-)

I'm a console player and I quit out of boredom. Besides grinding in circles, there is nothing to do. Questing is just painful on console with a non-functional questtracker. Lifeskilling is pointless with a non-existent market and huge upfront cost for too little reward, compared to "running in circles".
Speaking of market: the caps never get adjusted to reasonable values on console, that alone renders lifeskilling even more pointless.
Permanent Seasonal servers killed the already low population, all gear is useless because seasonal gear "progression"
They literaly killed the journey. It used to be fun "along the way", now it's just "powergrind the next seasonal character" for no reason.... there is no real progression anymore, I literaly hit 3 grindspots for Level 61, then graduate and that's it... nothing more to do.
Why chase gear when there is nothing to do with it? Why grind for silver when there is nothing to buy?
It's boring and pointless, that and the severe lack of Quality of Life on console (no fasttravel, years behind in content, useless UI....) made me lose interest in the game.
For now I play some older games on gamepass. I will play some T&L when it comes out but I don't jump on hypetrains...
this is kinda valid, it’s why i only ever come back to bdo when another character is released. i don’t feel like endlessly grinding alone to get more gear…to grind with. bdo is lacking in meaningful combat or different mechanics that could make combat exciting. perhaps the game would be more fun if i had others to play but the community on console is beyond toxic.
What killed this game for me is the console performance seems like they genuinely hate the console community
Regarding the question of where to go. I went... Minecraft and Cities Skylines (first one, with mods)
PVP in Minecraft feels betters than in BDO now and has a a lot of "user made content"

character strength power ap dp should increase with xp as you grind kill mobs bosses in real time and win in open world pvp, and not rely so much directly on gear gambling enhancement system
Once players realize how many crons they really need for these new weapons BDO will lose even more players... I have been someone that has dedicated 10 plus hours a day grinding, left my IRL gf and quit my job to pursue my BDO passion but to even compete with other whales spending $14,000 plus to pitty one weapon, Id have to grind 3-4T worth of silver for vendor crons. For those saying "Just buy outfits", do you really think whales will be selling outfits when they need so many crons for these new weapons? no, all the whales I know are hoarding their outfits because they need so many crons... For those saying "Oh well whales can only sell 35 pearl items a week so its not pay to win", Yes but they can purchase the rng boxes/bundles in an infinite number. I watched a guy spend $2k daily the last 3 weeks just in rng bundles for crons alone so he could have enough for these new weapons lol, normal players will never be able to compete with that. Lets then look at what we get for all that effort? What endgame pvp/pve content warrants that kind of cron value/effort? This weapon alone shows without a doubt who the devs put first, enjoy the Bugatti This is a great example of building a game with only a business mindset and bringing honor to your Korean family. Business First Game Second.

Yeah I’d like to add how they totally killed player driven content. On console we are so far behind and with how slow they are to come out with updates it really feels just pointless to grind. I’ll be going to new world on release I love it on pc even though it has its own problems it’ll be a nice change of pace
They need to shut down all servers and do a rework to this game
New: pvp rbf and new rewards, more pve activities, nws needs to get back to how it was or just something different, no more adding new weapons and stuff. The game needs content. I left the second i hit 720gs and now just do 1 nw a week because its just boring. Theg have the best pvp pve combat out there just need a couple changes.

On our server there are so-called drivers - people who grind on your character for real money. Their cost per hour is much cheaper than the cost of costumes. As a result, if you play honestly - without drivers and without donations, it is simply impossible for you to make a new weapon. The amount of crown stones required to enhance it is colossal, and it is impossible to buy costumes at auction.
Now regarding monetization - the game forces all players to buy crown stones or hire drivers, because it is impossible to buy new weapons and enhance them without crown stones either.
Previously, the game was not heavily monetized, but judging by the latest update, the company’s attitude towards monetization has changed.
No matter what you do in that game you WILL hit some kind of inconvenience system. It's temporarily eased by money.

Tbf, quiting BDO on console is probably the smartest thing i did this year. Since I'm EU player but i play on NA everything is dead atp. In my time zone RBF is dead, BA is empty, i can't do NW / Siege, open world pvp is kinda dead and I'm just tired grinding non-stop and fail everything only because my rng is trash, it feels like i play for nothing and this game just disrespect me like that is frustrating. Also i was full time main archer and all this changes make me feel like PA will never stop from having favorite class to buff and rest of us just struggle and fight for survive more than having fun in a fight is pathetic. I'm not down to play BDO again and when friends ask me if it's worth to start the game the best answer is "If you want to have fun is NO, not worth". For those who still playing the game i hope you guys have more fun and more rng than me, and wish you the best in the game.
I play on console. I’m used to being crapped on. But I find my own fun. I just finished the Serendia and Cal quest line. It was fun. I’ve never read quests before. I’m thinking of doing another area now. Cut scenes were nice. Other than that it’s just something to do. I never grind more than an hour at a time. I’ve only got a little over 1k hours in so I’m not even a veteran. I just play. Do random stuff. I haven’t played back to back other than a like 6 weeks then I move along. Come back in a few months. Casual.
went back to GW2 and tried LOTRO for a chill classic mmo time, actually surprisingly fun

I've moved on to a different game weeks ago. Looking at it now, I understand that for you personally, this is what pays your bills. But for the average everyday bdo player, just move on bro. Games are not meant to be played for ever. Hell, bdo had a long run. Can't keep it going forever. This is that time where you jump ship. Looking back I had fun and I got my fill like any other person. But it's about moving on to bigger and better things. I've moved on the TFD and I've picked back up on warframe. Also getting back into FF14 with all the time I've got. Move on bro, let it go
crazy how console only just got the mountain of eternal winter and still don’t have dosa, not to mention the abysmal support for console. no ps5 version released, endless invisible walls and blue screens, not to mention the lack of meaningful or engaging content. they should add in different modes that are modeled after WOW or FFXIV raids or dungeons.
Been playing since beta on both PC and Console... this isn't the first time the game has been in a rough state or lost a lot of players, especially end game players. This level of community dissatisfaction has happened at least two other times that I can remember off the top of my head. The points made are valid, and PA is definitely stumbling right now. But I wouldn't be surprised if the game is in a very good place 6-12 months down the road.
Hi, I'm a semi vet with 8k+ hours and 4k+ hours respectively on 2 accounts . Playing the game on and off for 2years and just stop playing last last month.
I think the game is just in stale state with all the grinding and the progression behind it because I felt that like 2yrs ago, I tried to add lifeskill but it goes boring fast too which is funny because Lost Ark is kinda same, although the lifeskill in BDO is superior.
I think they are too focus on Crimson Desert and DokeV, the last ball was ass and they know it so they just straight up gave BlackStar so people wont talk about it, but it backfires. The progression is just brutal too and like I've said, it is stale which is sad because all these accessories they released are just bunch of nothing now because of their decision about deborekas and now they are going for weapons.
Game wont recover unless they put effort on it, which is very unlikely. Hope the game will be better tho, I wanna go back from playing and be excited to play but now, I cant see my self playing BDO.
I can't lie, though not spending money on a tent hurts so much in bdo, and they keep making tent better, too.
For me it’s the the lack of info they give you. I’ve been on and off for years because wtf am I doing? How I find a ferry? What’s its schedule? Why do I need 5 different materials for everything I want to do. YOU HAVE TO BUILD RAPORT TO BUY ITEM FROM ANYONE NO EXPLANATION

BDO players are a weird bunch. Mofos out there grinding their life away for a couple of extra AP or DP, but then shocked when a new, better piece of gear is introduced after using the same gear for literal years. Getting better gear and growing more powerful is a big part of the genre, if you've used your Blackstar for literal years you've got a pretty good return for your investment in my opinion. Other MMOs would have replaced that in a matter of months.
8 years. 8 long years. And I cant say that I didnt enjoy most of it. Made a shit ton of friends, lots and loooots of memes. Shared some stories, some friends even mutual passed away during covid and before. And to watch the game at this state is sorta, unbelievable, but at the same time part of reality since we've been talking about the issues for many many some years. The ONLY thing that kept us nit and tight was the pvp and the content we made OURselves. Its tough, cause im walking, and many of us Vets are walking away from what was previous ingrained in us as a habit to get on everyday and shoot the shit and pvp. But not anymore. Its Bitter...And hopefully PA gets they shit together so it can be Sweet it in the end. (PC, Edan Server Launched.)
Time=money, therefore, success=money or time, therefore money=monetized success. If I can go work 10 hrs and make 350$ then come back, dump it in the game, am I better? I've not played in years due to basically all you've said. I would come back, my hundreds of hours of hard earned hard played completely thrown out because I logged in and I got the same gear for free.

Because progress after a certain point is a coneye and total burn out. They keep adding more and more shit for super max AP DP players, most players are still like 285-295 range. Add content at that level. Lots of players, maybe most? Don't even want to progress much. They just want cool shit to do. All the cool shit is story line, reworks, or hyper end game.

@@ImakeTanks I played 23k hours since pre awakening release without any life skilling through the night, throughout they time I say so many bad decisions being made I would try to quit but always get drawn back by the lack of any other decent MMO, so I took the final plunge and requested an account removal which took 15 days and then it was gone, with the account removed I haven’t missed it for even a day and having just looked at the forum it’s the same arguments from years ago just with fewer people playing. Not sure why this vid popped up on my feed but the title got me in tbh. Hope that answers it all. Happy grinding.

LoTRO is awesome also I would say GW2 both are great on your real life $$$ but both are completely different games... If you want pvp I would say gw2 but that has its own issues of course.. But if you want a old school experience where you can make the landscape "Open world" content as hard as dungeons you can look at LoTRO.. I will say this about LoTROs cash shop. If you pay $15 just one time it will unlock all content up to the last 3 xpacs afterwards you can just unsub and keep all the benefits that come from the VIP *Subscriber* without even paying a single dime more and you can literally earn thousands of LoTRO points to buy all the content in the game you want for free.. Once you get into LoTRO and figure out how the system works you realize how open ended the game is. That being said it has its own issues cause its old but the game has tons of content and the fact you can make the world deadly to me at least just makes me fall in love with it cause I usually mow over everything straight to end game but being able to control the difficulty has been absolutely fun and I play it on Fearless +3 most of the time. Those 2 to me are my favs..
I used to love BDO but once you realize your just running in circles for hours and hours you just lose any interest in the game especially with the pvp in BDO being relegated to the past. BDO does upset me though cause the game could of been so much more..

I don’t speak for the whole guild but when I was active with the leadership. To my knowledge we don’t want to go and bully small guilds. Nobody wants to fight sacred like ever that’s why the other top guilds don’t come and fight us on T5s where I’d argue is where they’re meant to be. Instead those guilds go to T1s in order to fight down there and avoid us.
@SwordKingsTV what I would say to that is t1 is 30 man and t2 is a 50 man cap content, people are willing to fight sacred, when gear isn't the determining factor, nameless took 2 Ls to threat b2b on bal, I'm sure some will complain people always complain.

I don’t Believe you need those outfits either. I was a guru cook and master alchemist almost guru alchemist without any clothes at all. Did it take longer without it? Absolutely but I still got there without buying it. Also a master gatherer without the clothes to. Hedgehog is 100% p2w though I forgot about it. But the clothes? Nah I did it without the clothes so I think that’s fine.
I semi agree with you both but part of the main problem is that most knowledgeable players in life Skilling don't show you how it's done properly and everything you need to know especially the basics to getting started in life skills when I first started when the game came out got into a guild and ask how to make money fast got told to "fish" nothing more just fish but there is more to it than just getting a fishing rod n fishing you need the right rod n buffs n also inventory space n more for it to work properly
BDO is too boring and insane tiring. You must grind so much in that game with no reason, because the rgn in drops is so fkng rare and the enchantment system is so trash, that you will never managed to PEN any gear. You will stuck grind for ages in Valencia and in few other spots until you get tired and quit the game. When it comes to dream horses and mythical horses which is the only thing that can bring some fun in this game.....lets leave this part because it is way worst than gear xD Life skilling just not exist for me, I am not gonna leave my pc open runing BDO for ages until life skills done to get some crap silver
Only started playing 1 day ago the game is so new to me its crazy, my desktop goes from 1440p to 1080p when i close the game has bugs that are winding me up and then bits and bobs im just not used to in game. any one know a good mmorpg to play, I didn't think to much of new world.

PA fix the staff, fix the game, fix the lack of communication, fix the content, fix pvp content all around, and fix the lag issue on all platforms. Save the damn game.. how do u turn gold to shit. @@SwordKingsTV same. I got lucky on my Debo neck I 2 tapped it to V. I just got a tet Debo belt but that took me forever to get I almost hit the pity limit on it. Debo earring isn’t even in the works but trying to get the Debos V without hammers is gonna be so horrendous
When I saw the 10 levels of the Sovereign weapons I considered quitting BDO, when I saw the crons and pity numbers for the new weapons I said OK.. it's impossible for mw to spend years or tens of thousands on these new weapons... it is time to quit!!! Then there is a new pvp game with actual group pvp called Throne n Liberty, the light at the end of my tunnel

If you don't want to you can just mostly join a pve guild and stay on season server since last I checked there is no PVP unless a dec is involved but a pve guild probably won't have that so just stay on season for pve

PA decided they wanted to reduce player conflict through both chat policy and the changes to the war declaration system. Now there's no conflict and fighting in-game, so there's no content and no pressure to get better and organize to defeat your rivals. Lack of conflict might be good in a company, but in a game that's strength is PvP, it's a death sentence. Other issues like gear, class balance, and other things matters a lot less than the removal of player conflict-based content.
