    Thanks for sharing this rig, Graeme. I use something that has a similar functionality with my Largemouth bass fishing, a Carolina rig. I'm always keen to learn the rigs you use!

    Is there any chance that ling or cod would take this rig or would they feed up a few inches higher?

    Brilliant video and once again eirily spot on timing! I was just wondering about them cup to point crimps and when to use them. Are fish put off by wire traces do you think? There are lots of yarns around about magnetic fields and fish senses etc. Thanks again Graeme.

    I have seen mini double crimps for 60 lb and 80 lb mono 4 mm long, 0.70 mm and 0.90 mm diameter, would these be ok for crimping the main line to the swivel, instead of a knot it could save your teeth Graeme?.

    Graeme - can you do shorter videos for for advanced anglers (1-3min videos) - I don't have time to watch alot fo your videos but you do great work and I appreciate the effort you put into all your videos - Just interesting to see how you tie rigs differently to me. If you are ever up in Oban area give me a holla. I'll put you on some cracking marks for sea trout and spur-dog etc

    Can I use a daiwa bg magsealed 8000 with 40 1b braid and then tie my braid to my rig? Please

      Never heard of the reel but I have been using 50lb braid straight through to a rig for general heave-ho fishing.

      Better off with a pulley rig from the shore.The one in this film was really aimed at boat fishing.

    I'm a bit of a novice but trying to get into it so these types of vids are great for me. Can I ask, what purpose does the free sliding lead serve?

    • @kf8575
      @kf8575 8 років тому

      Aquatic Pears it lets the fish initially take the bait without feeling too the resistance form the lead. Also when the fish bites and once the fish is hooked it allows the mainline to transfer the movement to the rod tip (if that makes sense)

      That's perfect thanks! Is it worth using one on a rig fishing off a pier/arm for whiting and such? Or do you just want the fish to get hooked right once it tugs on the static lead? Cheers

    • @kf8575
      @kf8575 8 років тому

      Better off using a fixed rig, either single hooklength pennel rig if your usibg bigger baits to see if theres any cod about, or a 2 or even 3 hook rig for whiting.
      Then yes hopefully theyd hook themselves against the static lead.

      Personally unless uptiding on a boat i dont like sliding rigs very much

    A great video, I got to crimp soon. I took your advice and bought a small fishing boat, here in Barbados. Have you fished here?

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  8 років тому

      No, not that one.Done the Bahamas several times,Jamaica,St.Lucia and the Cayman Islands a few times and Grenada etc,but missed Barabados. I imagine a lot of the places are fairly similar. Cuda,Kingfish and Jacks around the reefs and pelagics in the deeper bluewater. Glad you reminded me now our weather is starting to turn cold !!

    Another great vid Graeme, but I have to disagree about using your teeth to pull the line tight. As I found out to my (dental) cost when I took a chip out of a tooth doing the same.
