Listening in January 2024: This is the comment I made on a short reeI version: I wonder if he knew that we got tears in our eyes, and felt love in our hearts, while he was playing this. 💕 This is the first time I've watched this video, and it takes my breath away. ❤ Oh...and he bowed at the end, just like the Beatles did all those years ago. 😊
Julian Lennon was in this audience and afterward the sweetest picture was taken of Julian laughing at Ringo and George holding onto Julian from the back... just a boy and his uncles loving on him and missing John. I just felt like commenting that. “George was always there for me and was always a sweetheart to me. I love him very much and I miss him very much.” - Julian Lennon
found this on youtube today and think this version is probably the secound greatest. The best live version is definitely the one by McCartney, Clapton, Ringo and Preston.
3:37 Frank Sinatra really liked this song. He added it to his set in concerts he played after he heard it. He sang the lyrics instead of how they were written, "Just stick around and it may show, I don't know, ...I don't know, like... "Just stick around, Jack, she may show, I don't know, I don't know..." Sinatra said it is one of the best love songs he ever heard. George, in fact, got a kick out of this, and he started singing the lyrics in "Something" live in his concerts like Frank Sinatra sang them, as we hear in this song now... 3:37 Gotta love George's sense of humor and his down to earth persona, incredible modesty. Biggest band ever, chased by women all over the world, great guitarist, great singer/songwriter held onto his normal everyday kind of guy attitude his whole life.
I have always loved all The Beatles!! I love when George does the line that Frank added to it when he covered it !! “Stick Around Jack “ it may show lol 😂 ❤
Currently in my 63rd year on this plane, I can scarcely remember a time when I wasn't mesmerised by the unique magnificence of The Beatles. John Lennon was the personality by whom I was first obsessed. Then, from the 70s onwards I saw Paul several times in concert and he gradually became my favourite. But now I consider George to have been the greatest of them all because of the depth, sincerity and beauty of his art. This superb performance epitomises how he could touch the souls and most fundamental emotions of millions of people all over the world. I just wish I had had the chance to see him performing live. At least, we have some videos of the relatively few solo gigs that he did.
This song is beyond perfect in every way. So beautiful makes the heart feel pure love, it's unexplainable it has to be felt then its forever known as what perfection is.
Ahhh.. there is no Clapton here guys. Wrong concert😂. On LIJ Clapton plays what Cambel plays on this. Tonic phase endings are an easy way to tell George's playing
someday they'll digitize this stuff and it will be amazing. there are so many great performances the beatles left on crappy tape of one kind or another,. that could be saved.
There is at least one video where John makes a simple helpful suggestion when George says he has hit a wall on writing the lyrics of Something. It's so great to watch the creative process. ❤
George hating touring but it sure would have been awesome if he did an annual George and friends event coming off Japan the band was tight and George had his chops together. An annual George and friends would have been great but he got sick sadly. He is missed
OMFG! The verse towards the end he adds ‘JACK” … which is from Frank Sinatra, who described Something as the most beautiful song ever written. I always thought that was an obscenity to add to the song… proof that Sinatra didn’t understand the beauty … the classic rat pack types often crapped on Beatles’s works. But with Harrison singing it here… George obviously knew it was high praise… now I understand.

This was last time he ever performed the song for an audience. RIP George 💔
I love this version.....George's beginning just adds to this already perfect song
True

“George was always there for me and was always a sweetheart to me. I love him very much and I miss him very much.” - Julian Lennon
The opening solo is my heart strings being pulled of pure blissfulness
Something in the way he played. Miss you George.

That guitar speaks on its own
George Harrison was a superb musician and song writer. RIP George! You left us a fantastic legacy of your music!

Everything about the Beatles is so important. They were more important than 500 years of Theatre. What a responsibility.
How did I only just find this ? That intro is god tier. I could cry. I am crying.
Frank Sinatra: The greatest love song ever written.
by Lennon&McCartney
@@user-uq5nt6cw6v
I don't like the dismissal of George Harrison. By Sinatra, or anybody.
@user-uq5nt6cw6v Lennon/McCartney did not write this. George Harrison did.
Devotee of the Highest Beauty🙏🙏🙏 Didier

Mike Campbell in the background ❤️….guitar geniuses at work🎸
He continued to become a better and better guitar player as the years went on. Never plateaued
This song is beyond perfect in every way. So beautiful makes the heart feel pure love, it's unexplainable it has to be felt then its forever known as what perfection is.
This settles the debate whether it was him or Clapton on the intro
It was always too sweet sounding to be Eric. George had a magical touch.
There never should've been a debate. The phrases and note choice have always sounded like pure Harrison
Ahhh.. there is no Clapton here guys. Wrong concert😂. On LIJ Clapton plays what Cambel plays on this. Tonic phase endings are an easy way to tell George's playing
Кто-то боготворил Пола...Кто-то тащился от Джона. А мне всегда нравился Джордж. Особенно эта вещь!
What a magic touch… hermoso.
R.I.P Harrison, great talent 🙏
