Agree too...online connection issues always ruin your timing. Really frustrating when you want to place it in the open field for a certain winner and the game stutters and makes you hit the net because you didn´t get the timing "right".
Well , I'm here back to say...they listened and with this latest update the hit timing is.......FIXED !!!the game is enjoyable like pass Top Spin games. great job 2K !!!!
Using more control shots i feel like is meta for sure. 70% control shots and 30% power shots. Using the right stick to serve is definitely better for more power as well. I personally turn off the timing meter, find it distracting. Just practice with the feel of the timing i find easier for me then looking at a meter.
I’m going to try it. I have a feeling that’s going to work for me. I play club tennis so I think the meter is throwing me off. Had to do same thing with NBA 2k.
That meter drove me nuts. I turned it off and not only did my timing get better, but the game is much more esthetically pleasing because I see the gameplay and not that damn meter
I agree but disagree. In top spin 4 control shots were more important. In this one you can hit multiple perfect control shots but not winning the point, I feel powerful shots are more important in order to win shots. Regarding the meter I completely agree, may be in the beginning leaving the quality indicator is the way to go.
I've given up, the timing just doesnt feel natural or authentic. I love sports game that's all I play 2k,madden,fifa and even golf. This is the first system that just doesn't feel intuitive to me. Borderline unusable.
Quick tip: you can really mess the computer up when you switch shot types frequently...on playstation when i serve i hit X first then when the opponent returns i hit O which is power shot to the opposite side of the court..they usually cant catch up to it but they will if yu hit it too late and it might also go out of bounds so make sure yur timing is on point💪

I’m stuck at gold training within MyCareer. 20 PERFECT shots with only 10 misses? Good timing hurts as well. INSANITY

I would disagree. I find it’s the most realistic timing to actually playing. I would however complain about the injury / fatigue rate in the career.

Stats is everything, reflex's and stamina is key, timing windows seem to be easier if you have good footing.

I think groundstrokes are better without the meter. But I do need it for the advanced serve.

Does anyone use L1 quick boost thing to move your character? I can't feel a difference between hitting the button or not hitting it.
I do, you need to tap it before the shot button. At least that is how I use it

I’ve had no issues hitting perfect shots at all.
All you gotta do is know the shot you wanna hit. Press hold the button and just release on the timing
