The Secret To Building Wealth They Never Taught You In School

  • It's surprising the amount of people who genuinely have no idea how to leverage the simple strategies the wealthy use to grow their wealth. In this video I walk through the basic difference between how we're taught to build wealth in school vs how the wealthy have been building wealth for thousands of years.

Once I learned this, it seemed so obvious. Turns out almost nobody thinks this way, even though its so simple. Everyone's been conditioned to think hard work is king, and that it's the only thing you need. Thanks for this Jesse, spreading this info is actually so important. It's more than just a piece of knowledge, it's an entire lifestyle and mindset change.

In my school I learnt a lot of things like, the king who lived in the 11th century and the exact dates of his conquests that I never care about, calculating area under a curve for no reason, an 18th century cultural folk hero who was popular in a village that I think should be pillaged, type of trees in a rain forest I will never vist and mugging up Latin genus and species names for insects to show that I'm ready to be an employee who will do mundane tasks as ordered.
All of these things are extremely useful to me in my daily life of being a ragie wagie.
Its like going to a gym and out working everyone else in the gym but to have no gains.

There's just a limit to how much you can make at a job, even with *tons* of skill/time/effort. It's a fact of life. A job is a great way to build some seed money and build your early stacks, but eventually your investments will make more money than your time. I think people hear "passive income" and they think it's "lazy income", but really it's about constructing income streams (businesses, real estate, stocks, crypto, whatever) that don't require much of your time.
I wish people would put down real numbers though. Like how much income/savings do you need before investments start making sense? I think it's surprisingly early, but not as early as common financial wisdom makes it out to be. If you're just making ends meet at hourly wage, you're better off investing time and money in yourself and ways to make more money per hour, instead of putting dollars off to some savings account. There's some threshold though where you're making enough to live off and you could reasonably turn $50k saved into $100k, and you'd never get a $50k raise at your job in that time. Do that three times and your "job" becomes irrelevant

I've known this concept since I was a teen... the problem for years was where do I put my money when you start out with so little of it. How do you put a hundred dollars to work passively and make some progress, nowhere in traditional finance. It wasn't until crypto that I found a home for my few dollars to go to work. It's been great!

The Richest man in Babylon is by far my favorite book ever. The audible version is the best by George S. Clayson who’s a great narrator! Rich dad poor dad is also a great classic! Great video and you’re so right! This is the second video today that I’ve seen on people being taught to be workers instead of business owners mainly because the governments need for employees to man the equipment created In the industrial revolution which is still the same system being taught today.
Oh and in the story of the richest man in Babylon he actually referred to your money earned as slaves. It sounds bad but what he was trying to express is by having your slaves do the labor instead of yourself. This will grow your money exponentially and free you up to have the time to live and enjoy what life has to offer.

I'm thinking about the money I paid for animation school in cash just to not end up finishing. If I learned more about investing, I probably could've made a good amount from that by now instead of spending it on something that I didn't finish (as long as I didn't invest in something that would lose the majority of that money, which is very possible and I'm looking at all of this in hind sight haha).
I will say the information I learned from school was still valuable and I can still make something from that to improve my income while learning more about investing, so it's not all bad. Life would probably get boring if you didn't work or weren't working towards something. Like if I made a good amount of money on investing, I could always take a few months off after a work contract was up and just do a lot of fun things with my wife and our families, then go back and work on another movie/game/show for another few months and repeat until I felt like just doing my own thing. I just wouldn't want to end up not working towards anything in life. That sounds depressing.

Problem is you can't invest until you at least have enough money to pay for all your base needs and then some. So its faster to get a higher paying job at least at first. Cant invest if you're broke

A lot of it was from Titano but a lot of it has also been hit with the big crash that just happened. So not fully accurate anymore.
