Thanks a lot for the good words. We put a lot into the Craftsman Lathe so we appreciate when someone enjoys using it so much.

I have a follow up video coming soon. I really appreciate the quality of this, plus it makes rod building more enjoyable.

Excellent video! Renzetti also produces US made, high-quality fly tieing vices. I have their Master Vice since 1994 with thousands of flies tied with no problems whatsoever. Thinking about their buying their rod lathe and you did a great job demonstrating! Thank you again!

Thanks for the great video. I had the Alps power wrapper. I am thinking of getting the Renzetti. I actually had reversed the track on my Alps so the thread carrier was on the side away from me.

I was thinking of doing that with mine before I purchased this one.

One other question. Does this motor reverse. I had done a few rods with wraps and epoxy colors.

Not very easy, yet you can change the orientation of the motor.

I have always wanted to do custom rod building. I’m not sure why, but the first time I saw someone building custom rods I’ve wanted to do it. I’m a disabled vet and at the VA hospital I used to go to they had a fly tying group that did little group fishing trips. They told me that they occasionally get rod building kits but I could never manage to get one. I couldn’t get out to fish in the areas they went so I figured another person could maybe benefit from the program… still, I wish I could have done the rod building. I just don’t have the money to get the tools and materials.

I don't fly fish, but I just got this set up for 100 bucks at a auction. No better way to start right, dive right in. 😂

Add some rare earth magnets for better and smoother tension adjustment and you’ll be set

How do I do that? Where do the magnets go? I like the way this sounds.

I just got my rod lathe about a month ago soon I’ll be trying it out! Really excited. What position do you keep your belt when wrapping?

I have it on the far left, I believe this is the slowest setting. I have the best overall control with this.
