What an amazing story of a star born! Who could possibly think that that hard moment in the Jamie's teaching career will lead us to Lessonstream- the most wonderful place for all teachers that I know.
Ha ha - my favourite comment of the day 😍
That is so true, students really enjoy and get engaged when there is an anecdote of the teacher or when they realise that the educator is a human being just like them. It's a very interesting story, even I am curious about Fabienne now 😅
One day I’ll go back to the town to see if Fabienne is still around. I’ll make sure to post and let you know 😃 Thanks for your nice comment!
Why do you think Fabian didn't visit you in hospital? 💔 I liked the recreation of the accident image!!!
Who’s to say what happened to Fabienne 🤔 Glad you like the pic. I was thinking that as a task, students could share stories and listeners could use AI to recreate key scenes from it. Then storytellers could say what is accurate / inaccurate about the picture. In this case, I wasn’t wearing a helmet and didn’t actually fly through the air!
Hi Jamie, thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I really appreciate that and it gives me hope when I happen not to be prepared for one of my lessons. Sometimes I'm too tired and stressed out and my mind is totally blank. I sometimes share my stories with my students but I'm always worried about the teaching purpose of it, I mean if I'm the only one who speaks and they only listen..what's the learning purpose of the whole thing?!how can I make it meaningful for them ?!I'm always obsessed about the TTT so I end up not feeling satisfied about it. I'd like to know your suggestions!
Hey Nicole. Thanks for your comment. Your situation sounds familiar. This video doesn’t really answer any solutions or practical advice - it’s much more about the potential of storytelling. If I were you, I’d keep an eye on the videos that are coming next as they will be much more practical. In the one coming tomorrow (Sunday) I talk about the three characteristics of a good teacher story for the classroom. It mentions teacher talk and I think it will be more useful.
