Just like my other Castlevania upload, this is recorded from an emulator as an odd exception. The real hardware looks a hell of a lot worse due to lower resolution and composite cables. Good thing it runs perfectly on emulation, unlike many other N64 games. The game hasn't changed much from the previous Castlevania game which is released on the same system. It's somewhat a re-make but with added storylines and some changes to the existing storylines. Foggy Lake is a new chapter for all characters, Forest of Silence is completely changed as well as Tower of Execution, Duel Tower and Clock Tower and some others. Reinhardt is slightly stronger and Carrie is slightly weaker, according to my friend, but I didn't notice much. The power-ups also cause some cool lightning effects to Reinhardt whip attack now. Cornell and Henry are completely new stories. Cornell has an unique set of levels and bosses which is pretty cool and Henry is a really short story in which you play 6 maps and have to save some lost children. If you want to play Castlevania then I suggest you to simply play this one and forget about the other one. Forest of Silence made me almost give up on this game on the previous version whereas it's a lot easier in this version. Due to the fact that this was recorded with an Emulator and used save states, I might have forgotten to take a few save states out. Sorry about that

Just look at the story, the monsters, the characters etc. Imagine, instead of remaking Resident Evil 4, they'd remake this game. Every character would get new things added. And the entire game would've evolved. Think about Cornell fighting Ortega in the imaginary Remake, or Reinhardt using his whip with crazy combos, instead of single striking his enemies. Also in the original Castlevania 64 trailer, which was back then called "Dracula 64", we see Cornell making a walljump with a somersault, and then kicking an enemy in the head. Imagine he'd do that as well. Henry would get multiple guns, snipers etc. Maybe he could have fought more bosses, get his own story, rescue more children etc. What could've been made with this game.......... What a shame. The other reason it gets crap is simply that it disagrees with IGA’s very specific (and very different from all before it) version of the franchise leading to him coming out with utter nonsense about it being developed as a ‘gaiden’ game. Ironically the 64 games were the first official sequels in the main series since SCV4 (also not a remake but that’s another story). Rondo bloodlines sotn and legends were lol meant to be non canon spin offs thus their differing styles tones and tone plot ideas (Sotn still doesn’t fit even into IGA’s timeline as the ending pretty definitively ends Dracula’s whole vengeance thing). Fun fact: Full gameplay was made on European (PAL) version of the game, but the thumb image on video shows the cover of North America (NTSC) release xD
I hope the next Netflix adaptation after "Nocturne" is a mix of "Legacy of Darkness", "68" and "Order of Eclesia" (the latter because we are never specified when in the 1800s it's set). I imagine the story would be about Barlowe and the Actrise trying to corrupt either Xanoa or Cornell, more likely Xanoa. One thing I hope to see on that show, is to see Aida remember it was her older brother who murdered her biological parents, leaving her prone to be bitten and ready to fight for her masters. Nothing personal, I just don't think it's good for her to forget something like that. I imagine the story would begin with Cornell and Aida (Barlowe would be the mastermind trying to get the curse's power for Dominus), but while he would succeed at saving her by giving up his power, I imagine Guilles would turn her into one and use her to torment the former werewolf. Then, we would jump to the "68" storyline, only this time including Xanoa instead of Dracula's kid version.
This game's controls were total ass, I struggled with Castlevania 64 but this was on a whole 'nother level. Just watching you try to get over a ledge onto a bridge in the beginning brought me back to late nights of frustration, I really wanted to like this game back in the day but sheesh.
There are so many changes between this version of the game and the regular 64 version. Let’s begin by pointing out the obvious in that there are two new characters, Cornell and Henry. Foggy Lake has been added as the first stage. Sub weapons can be upgraded by collecting multiple of the same type. Main weapons can be powered up an additional time. Forest of Silence, Tower of Science, Sorcery, Duel, and Execution as well as Clock Tower have been changed in layout, overall, for the better. Medusa and Spider Queen have been added as bosses to The Waterway (Carrie) and The Tunnels (Reinhardt.) Carrie and Reinhardt both got new alternate costumes (both are worse in my opinion, than their original alternates.) Carrie and Reinhardts voice acting was removed in this version. Additional music was added. Cornell has 3 unique stages, Outer Wall, Art Tower, Tower of Ruin. In addition to this, he also visits every stage except for Waterway, Tunnels, and Castle Center.

This game could be great if was more elaborated with more puzzle adventure levels mixed with plattaforming classicvania levels.
Henry campaing was very awful and spoiled a lot two new levels..
Now im on Reinheard campaing just finished villa, his and Carrie campaing are like Cornell or they are more like the first levels? And the original game is too diferent? Its more adventure too or the same out of nowhere too much plattaforming?
@@EvilPapagali666 cool, C64 with Reinhardt and Carrie is a little bit shorter, but still fun.
I still love the game despite all the flaws you mentioned that it has.
It’s always fun for me to play.
@@jerrym1218 It had the potential to be on top 10 or even 5 n64 games, but the way it is yes its a very fun game.
Finished Carrie and Reinhardt routes today and liked more than Cornell and Henry ones
Just like for Zelda Collector's Edition GameCube that had the first two Zelda NES games and the two Zelda N64 games oot/mm!
I really wish they did the same for super Mario and Castlevania collection for GameCube!
Like for Super Mario Collector Edition the first first three NES games, then Mario 64 would've been cool to exist!
And for Castlevania Collectors Edition the first two NES Castlevania games, then the two N64 Castlevania games 1999 and the legacy of darkness!
If Nintendo did something like that for super Mario and Castlevania for GameCube that wouldve been so cool to get and have!
I would love 2 see a remake of this again
Watching this makes me wonder if the AVGN will ever consider making a video for this game in Halloween, considering Castlevania is one of his favourite game franchises.
prob not. hes thinks the n64 castlvania sux i think.
That gorilla skeleton talks like the bear from the fox and the hound
1:57:52 nice dance moves cornell
🙏Congratulations Castlevania Legacy Of Darkness!🙏
This is like an N64 Bloodborne…. Crazy
I believe that castlevania deserves a remake how about you
Fun fact: Full gameplay was made on European (PAL) version of the game, but the thumb image on video shows the cover of North America (NTSC) release xD
Theres an invisible bridge leading from one mast to the other at the shup at the start of the game
That sea serpent roars like gwythaints
The pain to start all over again everytime i died 😭 loved this game
HAHAHAHAHA!!! 7:02 I WAS ABOUT TO GRAB THE CONTROLLER AND PLAY!!! 😆 THE MOMENT IT ZOOMED IN THE MUSIC STARTED AND THE TITTLE INTRO SHOWED.
Love intros on these castlevania
3:51 i did not expect him to go all steven seagal on those skeletons
The music from the intro ! 100/10
Love the parkour.
If only this had a proper lock on. Itd make it so much better
Thus game was like a nightmare for me when i was a kid
I use2 play this when I was a kid!!!! Memories!!!!
My brother bought this game for himself and I but I would stop playing after the stage where one saves the boy, the camera annoyed the hell out of me
that nostalgia
This game's controls were total ass, I struggled with Castlevania 64 but this was on a whole 'nother level. Just watching you try to get over a ledge onto a bridge in the beginning brought me back to late nights of frustration, I really wanted to like this game back in the day but sheesh.
This game reminds me of Ninja Gaiden Black on xbox, similar camera system, controls, etc.
Strangely creepy Castlevania.
The Gill mens death sounds, are very similar to the pigs in warcraft, the humanoids in razorfen, when they die :D
love your full walkthrough for castlevania legacy of darkness n64 with all for characters cool
Ok bot
BANGER CHANNEL BY THE WAY!!!!
2003? am i missing something is that just a Typo?
You're not missing anything
Is this Castlevania Legacy of Darkness the same as Castlevania N64 1999?
It’s extended version of 64 new characters and storyline
I hope this becomes canon for the Netflix series
Love this Game and 64 still playing even in my phone
I wonder why is this Castlevania Legacy of Darkness N64 is very expensive than the other Castlevania 1999 N64 game?
Awesome game.

Never could understand why they don't take Ada's pendant there at the end. Even if it's powers no longer work, if she didn't want it anymore they probably could have sold it for a small amount of money. Though I personally would have kept it just because it looked so cute
Best fucn games of the entire franchise hands down no contest.
Unlock all characters and costumes from the start
This game use a variation of the famous Konami Code. On the main menu, enter C-Up x 4, C-Down x 4, C-Left x 2, C-Right x 2, C-Left x 2, C-Right x 2, L, R, Z, a sound will play and instantly unlocks Reinhardt, Carrie, and Henry as playable characters.
Nice
That intro is pure camp comedy, love it
Very nice let's play.
Renon: "I'm not a enemy!!!" ✋️😲
Me: *Yet...Not a enemy yet...* 😒
I wonder if this guy knew that he could find useful items when searching the couches 🛋️ and some of the other furniture such as chairs, 🪑 tables, paintings, 🖼️ and statues in the level 3 Annex area??
He could have got a lot of items and cash, but maybe he didn’t know or was speed running through the game.
Either way myself and many others usually press the hell out of the action/search button near all objects to see if any items are hidden throughout lol 😆.
Good times
This was actually my first castlevania i played, then i got the other one where your doing reinhart first.. nostalgia galore here. I had beat it maybe 4 times before i got bored cuz jt was repetitive
Sold this game for about $70 profit. About to pull the trigger on it again.
The chainsaw guy from the villa is gone in this game, right?
No. He is in this game too.
Actually he tries to kill a boy named Henry and you have to save the kid.
Fun fact: One of the 4 playable characters in this game is the adult version of the boy you saved in the Villa.
Hes definitely here chases you through a maze took me forever to beat as a kid
Que bien título y lo quisiera jugar . .
Yo Sony make a remastered wit Cornell and Henry in it ..this game is my favorite it on da 64 I'm 24 I'm finna turn 25 but I was hella young wen I played this even wit the da guy wit da whip and da women wit da glowing gloves...like wen I purchased this game was in a pawn shop I seen Castlevania I was like I gotta have it ..
I like your vernacular
This was way better than the original CV64. 👍
👍 i will beat this game soon
This game's version of The Sinking Old Sanctuary is the best.
Skipped 3 hours in buddy has a gat ☠😅🤣 the silent forest no longer so silent. Back in my day we went to Dracula's castle with a whip. Good 4 you grand pa blam blam blam!!! Im coming for Dracula where he at where he at. 🤣😅😆
Limited run should release this
3:45 I'm sorry but this 30 second sequence just made me laugh really hard with how bad the animation was
That one just beating the roof. Ha!
@@Las_cacas that's the part that made me start laughing
It reminds me a lot of resi 4.
Can you tell me what your settings are for Castlevania LoD?
I can get it to run fine. But there’s these black borders on all sides of screen. And when I click the 3D something mode to fill those spots, I get odd stuff around the edges of the screen.
I honestly didn’t change anything using Project64
lets be real henry would have smoked dracula
I love how it's the 1800s and Henry's pistol sounds like a gun from the present day 🤣🤣
@@jordanvelez2840I always chalked it up to the church giving him an alchemically enhanced gun. Like one Albus had in OoE
3:16:51 ok seriously what in the bluest fuck is that little girl doing there, and how in the hell she got there!?!😐
It's kind of creepy when he says I smell a child. What a sick game.
Like Mary from Hocus Pocus.
No, there is nothing “ Creepy” about that dingus. Considering that Cornell is a Werewolf he would be able to pick up a persons scent. Unless you’re too retarded to understand that and completely omitted the story from your Brain somehow.
I wouldn’t normally comment on one that is a year old, however I made an exception to that
47:25 how to open this garden there is the broch rose
Im probaly going to do something about this game, Maybe do a Original game thats a Fixed version of this, like My idea is that of a Crest Like Metroidvania that actually is just a Expanded version of Order of Ecclesia, via the Protagonist's Ability being a special Genetic Mutation known as Bio-Arms due to a Alien Plant that Revives her from the Cryostatus she was in For 50 years, She entered cryostatus in 2023.
4:33:31 Someone feeling himself!!!! 🤣
Any criticisms?
Your mom looks a little odd, but otherwise not really.
I think the game could have been better, the camera does not help, its your worse enemy
@@RossieMarrie that was my main problem too. Those pesky camera views! I got killed so many times....
7:05:15 this looks cool
This game is worth about $200-$300 now. If you have the manual and box it's about $600. I still have this game for my Nintendo 64. I sell video games online. I sold Castlevania Dracula X for $400 on the SNES. BUT I WON'T SELL Castlevania legacy of darkness because this game is only on the N64🎮🎮
So as the Castlevania n64 1999 on Nintendo 64 only!
@@MarkFendy-sw7hn i would say $200 for Castlevania legacy of darkness for the N64. The original Castlevania 64 is about $30. But Castlevania X for the SNES is $400. But I love Castlevania legacy of darkness so much I still play it till this day on my N64 and I won't sell it.
@@thundergodgamer118 very nice! Only if I was ever rich I would so buy the Castlevania legacy of darkness! But as on budget with life and things I would only buy the Castlevania n64 1999!
@@MarkFendy-sw7hn you could Castlevania 64 though. Castlevania 64 cost around $30 online. Dracula X for the SNES is worth $400. I sell games and toys online. I will always keep my Castlevania legacy of darkness for my N64.
@@thundergodgamer118 yes I know! Same as for every classic game I would so keep forever whether I'm in any bad situations or so!
So is this A prequel and a side quest all rolled into one?
pretty much yeah
@@LotusStitchandSketch They should have had this in the original game.
@@DarkFortressPictures_Official actually this SHOULD have just BEEN the original game instead of there being 2 separate games. Not really sure what the point of the other one was honestly.
i sold this game for drugs, now i regret it cause its so expensive and i wanna play it lmao kms
I had bought this from this kid in 8th for 15 bucks. Let a buddy borrow my n64 and never saw it again. I had like 35 plus games also.

so i skip this or nah
I have a feeling this game is not complete
notice how in some parts they talk and in some parts they don't.
I think this game was rushed.
dammit! I bought the wrong N64 Castlevania game.
Moral of this game never trust a kid
6:23:34 Looks like a anime character
Excuse me... could you everyone remember the figth of Cornell like "omega" instead "ortega" .... I think Mandella effect did it again...
No
It was always Ortega
Imagine naming your kid omega
I made it 45:10 into this and had to stop.. man you keep missing stuff like the cross those dogs drop.. I know you may not have needed it but its cringe to walk away from loot for me as a viewer lol
Edit: glad I continued watching or I would have missed the Ghost Rider cameo of a motorcycle riding skeleton between 45:10-45:31 hahaha
Clearly no skill
