A true masterpiece in videogames history one of the most darkest Nintendo games ever hands down the depressing tone of the whole game is amazing Ocarina of Time is also dark but Majora Mask its on another level
Take me back to 2001 when I was just 10 years old and played this amazing game for the first time. This, Super Mario 64, and Goldeneye were my top favorite games as a kid, and I really think this game is best played when you're a kid. No other game gave me that kind of experience as a kid.
Totally! I was also 10 in 2001, and everything you say, I can completely relate to. There was a certain warm fuzziness to the world in general, and it made immersing in games like this, all the more engrossing. I remember getting Majora's Mask for my 10th birthday while on holiday in Tunisia, but I couldn't play it until we got back home, of course. I also received a walkthrough for the game, which I spent a lot of time on that holiday eagerly reading sat out in the sun haha!
Over 20 years later and that opening gives me straight chills. After having defeated ganon and becoming a legend in Ocarina of Time. Link, searching for his beloved friend who aided him in fulfilling his destiny. Would get wrapped up in what would become an even more personal, epic, twisted and sad journey. The Hero of Time will always be the greatest legend.
@@Bromocriptine777 at the beginning of ocarina of time Navi was tasked to aid the young Link in realizing his destiny. After defeating Ganon her job was done so she left. Some time later Link sets off to find her. Thats when Majora’s Mask takes place. for further details just look it up!

I agree lol. Picked this game back up recently. Realised just how great it was again. The timer always scared the crap out of me because I knew that the moon would come crashing down in a matter of time.
Watched the whole playthrough, such an outstanding game. The attention to detail of this world was insane, Couples mask really stood out to me reuniting lovers hours before the end of the world and bringing peace to peoples lives on the eve of an apocalypse. God such good memories 🖤 This and Ocarina of Time are my life.
The Prima guides were awesome. I still have mine even though they are tattered and missing sections. My mom taught me how to read using them because I hated reading what the teacher assigned. She would let read them all night after I did my homework in 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade. I'd learn every part of the games even if I didn't actually get that far in the game. Then I would figure out something and run into my room to play the game and reach a new area. 20+ years ago 🥴 Besides the two N64 zelda games, what were your favorite games? Those two and WindWaker are some of my all time favorites.
I love how Link mean-mugs the shit out of Romani before playing Epona's song at 4:33:07 - he's like, "yeah b****, I know she likes that song. She's MY horse!"
Even disturbing enough, both Romani and Cremia represent Malon's younger and older look. They don't even realize there is a land where these other people look like them, and have a different name.
@@Gen965 According to the zelda universe, that moon would make different faces, one smiling. If you go to Romani ranch at the final day and watch the moon you'll see that it's making a disturbed face like skull kid is making it crash into Termina.
Even after playing Breath of the Wild & only completed it once, Majora's Mask is still my favorite Zelda game. I like it way more than Ocarina of Time & Breath of the Wild.
yeah this was my favorite Zelda for many years until Skyward Sword came out... but only because Skyward Sword it's a part of my life that connects me to my beloved wife
@@RangelGabriel yes, the creators wanted to challenge themselves to make a game in only a year, reusing as many assets from ocarina of time as possible and Majora’s mask was the result

Thanks I think I needed to see how everyone is happy in the ending one more time. You know, Romani not getting lobotomized, Butler finally finding his son's corpse, Lulu singing again, man... I mean I think I needed to cry a bit.
I'm not good at this game in the slightest but its still one of my favorite games of all time. it's got such a cool creepy vibe, and the music is so glorious
At first, I wasn't interested in this game when I started it because it just wasn't the same as Ocarina of time but as I got a little deeper in playing it I truly love it especially Kafei & Anju story almost cried when the took Link to go take refugee they wanted to stay in the room with each other till the sun rises 🥺 Thank you for taking the time to do the walkthrough!
That level at the very end, when Link plays hind and seek with the manifestations of the four temple guardians, is purely epic. Not the gameplay, but the dialogue between the five of them. Link embraces the power of a Deity, very similar to the mask of Majora who corrupted skulked. However along Links journey he helped as many people has he could, and recurved masks in return, essentially embodying the good of everyone in the realm. Therefore, Link was strong enough not to succumb to the power of being a Deity. The positive energy, kindness and justice of everyone Link helped in the game protected him. Very poetic. Don't make them like they used to.
I've honestly come across this game as being one of my favorites. It's dark theme, story line, side quests is captivating and just keeps me completely sucked in. I used to watch my oldest brother play this game on the N64 when I was a kid. Me being the youngest girl in my family I was always the watcher, and this game had a tight grip on me back in 2000 and it still does to this day. I watched this game like a movie when I was 4-8 years old, and when my brother passed down the torch to me I was 11 years old. Man oh man, this game took me 13 years to complete 100%. This game is really not easy on N64 or Game Cube, the amount of patience you need to have for this game has to be HIGH. 3DS is simpler, but for me not the same. ( I'll still play it.) At times, you just get so emotionally and mentally invested to have everything done in a timely manner. I always had a hard time turning off the game, I played this game religiously. I like a challenge, I enjoy a good story line with interesting characters and side quests. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are the games that did it for me. Forever grateful these games exist..
You should play Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. People say it surpassed Ocarina Of Time, and others say it's as good but different. A masterpiece nevertheless
Majora’s mask is my favorite Zelda and my favorite game in general, and this opening always causes me to have goosebumps no matter how many times I hear/see it or however many years has gone!
So here’s the thing, I’m still a kid and this is my first time watching a full Majora’s Mask gameplay. My first Zelda game was Skyward Sword, so I never knew the deal about Majora’s Mask or Ocarina of Time! Now, I’m starting to explore these games I’ve never experienced much.
@@lady_lexi_ oh, no! Haha, please send me a link to that picture you have if possible, please. I loove these drawings of link and Zelda. Btw, which character is that in between them? Is it a Gerudo?
@@RangelGabriel, I thought you were talking about my profile, lol, sorry about that. It’s actually my art, so I’m afraid there’s no link, but the character in between them is child Ganon that I found online! I just redid them so they looked more clean and matched up with each other.
My big brother tried to get me to play this game a few times when I was little, but I was always too scared to progress... I'm glad I'm able to watch a full playthrough of it!
My mom bought me this game after i beat Ocarina of Time (took me like 3 months of non stop play)....... i never played this game because i was sooooo drained from OoT. Now that i am watching this longplay......i want to kick myself in the butt! Lol super cool game! I missed out.

I put this longplay on as background noise while i am at work. Something about the music and sounds are so nice to listen to while i work. My favorite game and series from my child hood. It helps me when im in the zone programming, like how some listen to lofi or classical music, i listen to zelda mm. Ill never forget this game, ever.
I watched this in 3 days. I LOVE it!! I’ve played OOT but when I played this I couldn’t figure it out, after the 3 days (in the game) I had to start over 😂 thank you! ❤️❤️
Playing this game for the first time and this video has helped me so much because I didn't know about the bunny mask and kept losing time and wanted to quit.
I’m 3 hours into this guide and I have to say that this has been a solid guide so far. I never was able to beat this game as a kid so I’m looking to beat it now.
I was 13 when this came out in 2001, I remember buying donkey kong 64 just for the expansion pak just so I could buy this game. I had already played OOT over and over from that release also. I remember queuing up outside curry’s or comet (can’t remember which one) and finally getting my hands on it on release day. I obsessively played it and completed every story line and got every mask. I would love to go back to these days :)
To Link this is like Ocarina of Time all over again. Similar equipment, villain, familiar songs, and a mission to save the land. Perfect sequel to OOT.
My favorite game of all time still takes me back to when I had all my parts in childhood living room and everything I could ask for and now I just wish I could play it again

It does feel like a different life time. I just miss sitting in the chair in my mom's room reading game guides while she would watch TV or read a book at night. Warm feelings. Then I would figure out something and run into my room to play the game and reach a new area. 20+ years ago 🥴
Besides the two N64 zelda games, what were your favorite games? Those two and WindWaker are some of my all time favorites.
Just the very same experience, the very same feeling you describe is how my brother and I spent our childhood together 💛
200+ hours through first MM playthrough without guide with my friend 18 years ago
1:03:43 Now that's a moon i really didn't need to see!
*EXTRA THICC*
DAMN BOI HE'S THICC!
Why that moon looks like Freddy Krueger? I'm glad we don't have a moon that looks like that.😂
@@Gen965 According to the zelda universe, that moon would make different faces, one smiling. If you go to Romani ranch at the final day and watch the moon you'll see that it's making a disturbed face like skull kid is making it crash into Termina.
U gotta look at this from a high guy perspective this is literally a kidd if not a teenager saving this town he is doing hella sht 😂its crazy
This is one of those games where the music really nails the atmosphere of every area you explore and any enemy you encounter.
CR. Cool. And congrats!
It's also my favorite
Ocarina of time is my favourite
Dubem. Good for you. But personally for me, while I think it's good; it's an little bit overrated.
Use to watch my big bro playing this on our N64 back in the day! To be young again🥲
Same here man 😭
Sale we were too young to know how to
Beat it
Dude same 😂 great memories
I played this game when I was 4 had no clue what I was doing but the personal stor behind the game is amazing
OOT was perfection. this was art.
When you realise this game was developed in 1 year ...
Thought it was 2
@@olsonbryce777 more like 1 and a half
Game was ahead of its time.
What?? Really??
@@RangelGabriel yes, the creators wanted to challenge themselves to make a game in only a year, reusing as many assets from ocarina of time as possible and Majora’s mask was the result
This brings me back great memories 😊😊😊
callese señora
Spooky nightmares too.
Link is an angel.
Huh
Hu
and Majora is an Demon, right?
The nostalgia I get from this is incredible !
This was uploaded 2 years ago as of 3 days ago and it's still incredibly useful. Tried playing this game when I was a kid and it was way too hard. Even now, without your guide, I don't think I would've been able to finish it! Awesome work dude. I appreciate the content XD
this gave me such nostalgia... i watched the whole video in one sitting...
I love how he or she stays up for 11 hours just to record for us that's amazing thanks have a good day
20 years later, this game is still weird.
Shut up
ウィーブ私は shut down
The White Wolf Shutting down...
The White Wolf shut left
IT'S STILL GREAT THOUGH
This game scared the shit out of me as a kid and it’s still one of my all time favorites
Same
I feel that
Yes
Same dude
The scariest part for me as a 12 year old kid back in 2004 was when I first saw the mask kid without the mask and also the angry hats guy
Just got it on Ebay, after finishing Ocarina of time.
AFTER 20 years!
Corona lockdown, helped me trough it.
now, see ya in 20 years for when i finish Majors mask XD
“Boy, get your bow ready.” Who knew they were foreshadowing God of War?
I swear, Oldowa was one of the most stressful fights in my life. It were the last minutes of my day so i had to beat the guy FAST, not knowing what to do. The sound of the clockbells ringing and those disturbing ahoy’s (or whatever) he says is like a mixture for fright😭
The battle cry’s always scared me as a kid and I always asked my older brother to beat him for me
Thanks I think I needed to see how everyone is happy in the ending one more time.
At first, I wasn't interested in this game when I started it because it just wasn't the same as Ocarina of time but as I got a little deeper in playing it I truly love it especially Kafei & Anju story almost cried when the took Link to go take refugee they wanted to stay in the room with each other till the sun rises 🥺
Thank you for taking the time to do the walkthrough!
That side story is beautiful indeed
LMFAO COWARD
the great fairies' laughs creep me out
3:14:58 I’m laughing so hard the way you kept forgetting the song 😂😂😂
The part where I have to find all the kids to get the code to the hideout takes forever
I never got any Zelda games so the franchise isn't part of my childhood. I decided to watch this longplay to see why everybody loves this game.
Well its a great game, you should try it
I recommend also starting with ocarina of time because thats the game right before this one.
@@megb7334 yeah. Its also good cuz you save the better for the latter
If you wanna see why get your kids a n64 with OOT and MM 😁
Watch Zelda ocrina of time... it's story and climax is awesome :)
Looove your cover picture! ❤️
@@RangelGabriel, thanks, I thought it was really cute!
There will never ever be another game like this.

Best fucking part!
11 Hours of this entire game finished in one setting
You sir are a true longplaying legend :)
He edited the video you know? Is not entirely a one sitting playthrough
I think he might’ve spliced it
Definitely my favorite Zelda game and is without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time, if not already just simply my favorite
Welp, here goes my day. Because this is going to be the longest, best movie I ever watch.
The nostalgia is strong in this one. This represent my childhood.
My big brother tried to get me to play this game a few times when I was little, but I was always too scared to progress... I'm glad I'm able to watch a full playthrough of it!
Such an amazing game, the nastolgia it brings, the story, the gameplay, everything about it was beautiful.
I wasn't even born when this game released, but I've played the 3ds port (that everybody hates) and I'd consider it the best game ever made. It's art
Playing this game before and after school was my life when this game came out.
My mom bought me this game after i beat Ocarina of Time (took me like 3 months of non stop play)....... i never played this game because i was sooooo drained from OoT. Now that i am watching this longplay......i want to kick myself in the butt! Lol super cool game! I missed out.
The moon was too scary for kids to look at, especially if doomsday was imminent in only 3 days.
I call it the freddy moon.😂
I never played because of the moon
November 7th 2020. 20 years since its release, this game surely is still the best dark fantasy out there.
The nostalgia is next level. I love this damn game.
Yeah good old memories simpler times
I had no idea how great this game was going to be when I first played it. Glad I did.
Still my most fave game ever. It's the only one I do 100% every time I play.
Love the quality of the recording of this video, truly nostalgic
Had so many great memories playing this game with my Dad. Was more then just a game for me, this and OOT.
Thank you for posting this. It’s nice to hear it as background noise and as a single video.
I played this game during quarantine and I enjoyed it a lot. I should definitely play it again, it's such an amazing game
Thank you LongplayArchive ! I'm currently playing this on original cartridge in Japanese with only knowing katakana, and your longplay has been of great help!
link walking around with chickens while there's a giant looming moon lmao
it took me so long to finish this game and to watch someone finish it so fast is amazing i am so amazed that someone can finish so so so quick just wow well done well done LongplayArchive
Thanks! Much appreciated
no problem it is truly amazing how quick you finished it took me like a year and a half haha
Stone Tower Temple is just a masterpiece.
I hate having to play that song repeatedly but atleast the music is good
I put this longplay on as background noise while i am at work. Something about the music and sounds are so nice to listen to while i work. My favorite game and series from my child hood. It helps me when im in the zone programming, like how some listen to lofi or classical music, i listen to zelda mm. Ill never forget this game, ever.
Awesome! ♥
I love zeldaa games! ♥♥♥
Thank you for uploading this. You’re awesome
I love how the guard still says, "it was wrong of me to treat you like a child" to a little kid with yellow bunny ears on lmao
I replayed and beat the game again just a couple of years ago. I enjoyed every bit of it!
I watched this in 3 days. I LOVE it!! I’ve played OOT but when I played this I couldn’t figure it out, after the 3 days (in the game) I had to start over 😂 thank you! ❤️❤️
Spend 3 days watching the whole video and enjoyend everything of it,thanks you for the gamethrough.
Excellent!!
Big that we need an expansion pak
I was never able to complete this game when I was younger! I just found it too hard.
Enjoyed your gameplay, thank you so much 👌🏼
One of my favorite Zelda games of the entire series. I enjoy Majora's Mask alot more than Ocarina of Time.
Yeah same
JJ C me too
And don't get mad at me, but I also prefer Majora's Mask over Breath of the Wild as well.
@@jjc4924 wby would we? its many orders of magnitude better botw is overrated
Same
Playing this game for the first time and this video has helped me so much because I didn't know about the bunny mask and kept losing time and wanted to quit.
Que recuerdos... Una historia fantastica, como siempre nos tiene acostumbrado, toda la saga de Zelda.
*peelout sounds* oh man that brings back memories, I loved the goron form the most.
I’m 3 hours into this guide and I have to say that this has been a solid guide so far. I never was able to beat this game as a kid so I’m looking to beat it now.
Thx!
My favorite game
Dark Riku mine too
Posessed by ansem
So u know kh i love that game too
Me too
They r both good but I like majora’s mask more than ocarina Of time
If u get around the 3 day cycle u would like it as well
when my kids ask me what an original copy of my childhood playthrough of this was like imma say this video is literally damn near exact ty!

Link: *Chases criminal who committed crime in front of guard*
*Guard sees Link*
Guard: "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM".
To Link this is like Ocarina of Time all over again. Similar equipment, villain, familiar songs, and a mission to save the land. Perfect sequel to OOT.
When link travels time with those songs it looks really similar to a salvia trip I had awhile ago but imagine more of those balls
The music has this pleasing yet unsettling feel like saying that you or someone that you know or love will die and that they will be alright
When link erected the Zora guy's memorial... I felt that.
My favorite game of all time still takes me back to when I had all my parts in childhood living room and everything I could ask for and now I just wish I could play it again
