People never look at it like this: Obito is a kid who got ostracized by almost everyone being not only an Uchiha, but also being below the standards of an Uchiha. He has no family other than his grandma and his team. What happens when you take a genuinely kind kid and you start to break him? He's missing an arm, a leg, his eye, most of his body and his face is mutilated. All that but still held out for hope until he watched the guy he gave his life for kill the person he loved. You find out she dies because 2 countries wanted a super weapon and died for nothing. He literally only gets beat down and sees nothing but cruelty throughout his life. His kindness got him nowhere, and he lost everything. With everything that happens, he gets manipulated into destroying the world. Literally broken down physically and mentally. He's living a horrible nightmare of pain and suffering that no one ever wants to even think about. All that and he wasn't even 20 years old yet. Now imagine that happens to you in real life.
He’s the best character in the naruto verse
Not the mention all the time he spent with Madara, the younger you are the more impressionable your beliefs and values are as well.
He's my favourite character he's broken yet perfect thankfully he got a good ending
@@rishavroy3756 it's so unfortunate and relatable that people take kindness for weakness. They end up creating a monster when they mistreat and abuse that kindness. It took him nearly destroying the entire world for people to unite together to save it. The sad part is that likely the only people who see him as a hero will be Team 7, who saw him at his last moments. To the rest of the world, he's always going to be the bad guy. The bad guy they created.
Nobody could have said it better, not even me and he’s always been my favorite character.
The sad thing is that Obito still didn't want Kakashi to be sad.

When Obito tells Kakashi that he knows he has been suffering all this time, he sounds like he understands that pain and that he doesn’t want Kakashi to keep feeling that pain.
Both Obito and Kakashi lost Rin, her death impacted them immensely. Obito loved Rin deeply and she was his only light in his life, Kakashi lost another friend and also broke his promise to Obito to protect her.
He was trying to get kakashi to join him and fight naruto, witch I love ❤️ 👍

I don’t compare pain to other characters I just look at their pain individually. I mention how both Obito and Kakahsi lost Rin, but they had different circumstances. Kakashi didn’t love Rin like Obito did, Kakashi didn’t have to witness her die by someone that he entrusted to keep her safe, and knowing that he couldn’t make it on time to prevent it. Obito didn’t have to accidentally kill Rin even though she purposely jumped into it, but still Kakashi’s own attack ended her life, similar to how Yaihko used Nagato’s kunai to take his life.
The fact that obito isn't even mad at Kakashi more sadden at the fact that he's watched him constantly going over to his and rins grave everyday speaks volumes
He loves Kakashi and doesn’t blame him, but he blames the Shinobi system more than him. He fought him his sensei everyone but to Obito death was better for some than to be alive in a world like that and for those he loves and wants to show mercy to he wants to put in a genjustu to live at peace happy lives. Obito went about it the wrong way but he wasn’t mad for being angry and turning out the way he did I don’t think he was ever a evil if you understand his pain just like Nagato.

I just realized that Obito could have casted the genjutsu on himself without the beasts during anytime of the story. He could have spent a millenia in his own head, living any lifes he wants to until his body ages and dies. He had access to the salvation he wanted so badly, and the reason he did not just do it is because he genuinely wants everyone else in the world to be happy before he gets his own dream.

Madara can also be understood as well. He was tired of endless pain & that's why he wanted to cast infinite tsukinomi on the world & recreate a world whereby everyone is happy. In this day & age, you'll find somewhat truth to his words.

@@shadowfuture1378 Well dependent on what you believe in you can decide for yourself. I came to realize that his idea is better than what reality has to offer. Sometimes I think “Reality“ is far more fake than your dreams and hopes. Humans shouldn’t be violent, evil, and selfish yet the mainly are. From my perspective they’re all Imposters by not fulfilling their duty by being kind, so to me it just proves that reality is a dream itself (yet just a bad one) so I‘d rather stick with the good dream, I didn’t choose to be born yet people often treat me as if I had done bad just by existing. This world doesn’t deserve people like Obito or me so I would rather create my own universe in which good people are rewarded and bad ones punished, not vice versa like this reality does
I like how Obito’s and Pain’s ideals are different routes from the same beginning.

@Goku no, pain’s plan was more likely to work since it’s the world we live in basically. Nowadays there is only “peace” because of the fear of launching all nuclear weapons against each other. Since the atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the world saw what pain could truly be and therefore no one attempts straight out war, because humanity could basically be erased. That was pain’s idea
Nagato’s plan was the only one with a chance of lasting success.
The infinite Tsukuyomi would only be effective while the humans under it are alive, it would only last around 80 years before resulting in the extinction of humanity.
Under Nagato’s plan a future would still be possible, although brutal.

When Rin died she became less of a person to Obito and more of a symbol of peace and happiness because when Obito could find none in his childhood, he always had Rin to make things better. When Rin died he saw the last ray of light in his life get overcrowded by the darkness. It was more than just fighting for ‘a girl’. It was fighting for peace and happiness for everyone.

Had Obito not lost Rin, he could have met the person who loved him. He's the last generation version of Naruto. kakashi can see this last part.

Exactly. Instead he sympathized with him. He understood Kakashi's pain. In a sense Obito and Kakashi aren't reincarnates of Ashura and Indra, but, they're sort of their own Naruto and Sasuke. I don't want to take credit for something somebody else said. Somebody here said Obito was the Naruto who lost hope and Kakashi was the Sasuke that found hope. Very well put imo.

The show revolves around the constant battle of emotions and viewpoints, two different perspectives. There is always a motive, there are rivalries and lessons learned from our human character traits they all and we all posess. That's why Naruto hits so hard. The show is a reflection into the ideals and believe we humans have every day. It shows both sides, and the amount of topics dealt with in Naruto and how they're handled, make it the best anime ever.

I think a part that people don't give credit to is this.
Obito, even after everything he's been through, even knowing that Kakashi killed Rin, circumstances be damned, offered his old friend the options. He was never, there's no way to redeem you, to save you. He literally plays 'Naruto' from the Other Side of their conflict and tries to bring Kakashi over to his point of view.
Not through violence, they both knew this was genjutsu, but through words and imagery. It's rather telling that Obito, even as a partially insane man, was perfectly willing to talk to people. To offer a solution to their pain and suffering because he knows everything about that.
Obito was just a guy trying to do the right thing and, in the end, was punished for it.
He did the same with Kisame. At some point he gave Kisame hope on having a real Comrade. And it turned out that he got one (Itachi). (sure itachi had that mission going on but still even Itachi was sad after seeing Samehada with BEE)

He's honestly my favorite Uchiha, but i swear it's not because of his powers lol. One of the things people give Obito s*** for is his love for Rin. I know Naruto the series it's not without its faults, but if you really look at it the man lost way more then that. A master, two comrades and his dream.

As I get older I sympathize with Obito more. He was trying to save everyone from the pain of reality. He even wanted to give people who wronged him a second chance in that dream world.

This is why Obito is my favorite Naruto villain. The conviction in his voice, & anger & bitter hatred he had for the world that took everything away from him. He says the pain is gone, but you can tell that he only became numb to it after so long. It's still there & he's so blinded by his anger that he doesn't even realize it. This is one of the most heartbreaking speeches I've ever heard period & I feel like everyone can understand where Obito is coming from to some extent.

I understand where Obito's coming from because let's be real, the Ninja World is Hell. Hell incarnate All you do in it is fight and die, fight and die and fight and die. It's a vicious cycle. Even moreso, they involve kids into this crazy mess so you can't blame the bad guys when they kill kids or commit genocide (which includes child murder). It's so stupid but Obito and Madara's solution is not the way to change it for the better. But, again, I understand it. That doesn't mean I condone it or think it's correct.
“Kakashi, it’s okay now, you don’t need to suffer anymore” the thought of losing a childhood friend many years ago, only to meet them many years later in a very messed up and unexpected situation can really mess you up to a point where you don’t know what to do. Truthfully nobody can blame Kakashi if he accepted Obito’s offer. It had been many years since they’ve seen each other and Kakashi still thought Obito could change. I guess Obito truly wanted a world where Kakashi, Rin and himself could be happy.
Kakashi even said later that Obito’s path might not even be the wrong one. I bet Kakashi considered it for a second.

Obito is such a tragic character. There’s so many jokes that he started a war over some chick, but that’s not true. He was one of the only Uchiha who wasn’t born with darkness but after being found by Madara he was manipulated into being a pawn for his schemes. He only gave in after seeing Rin getting killed by Kakashi. He was a child who was turned to path of darkness after seeing how messed up the Shinobi world really is.

its crazy too because it really hammers the point of the uchiha's strength coming from trauma and having that darkness. He was happy despite being a below average ninja, but as soon as he finally broke, he went from being a scrub to becoming one of the strongest in the series.

Neji and Rock Lee, despite considered a genius and a talented taijutsu user, showed no visible development in Shippuden. Most of the side characters were forgotten after 1 arc and developed just one more justsu and they're done for the series. Sakura, Ino, Hinata and TenTen pretty much started on the same level and worked as hard as each other but all of the sudden it's the main character the only one that became unrecognizably stronger all the while the side characters were left for death so it's unfair to even compare them. It's just bad writing from Kishimoto if anything.

When Obito says this to Kakashi and Minato I definitely empathize because there’s only one person in my life that I can rely on, and I wouldn’t know what to do if I lost that person. Sorry for misunderstanding , so based on your first comment you mention how no one would understand Obito unless they went through the same circumstances. From what Obito experience he couldn’t prevent Rin from dying. Her death was inevitable, and there was nothing Obito could to prevent it from happening. Even if Obito did stop her from committing suicide and went back to the village, she would be completely possessed by the Isobu, that was guarantee to happen by Madara’s influence. Obito did mention to Minato and Kakashi how he travelled the world in search of hope, but he couldn’t find it, and believes hope doesn’t exist. Obito is such a fascinating character.
I think Obito reflects what Naruto would’ve been if he didn’t ever get friends or support. He is basically Obito in every possible way except Obito was a little stronger as a kid and a little less showboaty. He lost his parents at a young age, basically had no real talents as a ninja but still wanted to be Hokage to prove his worth.
Plus Obito always helped those in need. Its why he was always late.
It was shown that Naruto and Sasuke were two sides of the same coin. One small change and Naruto could've been the one who wanted to burn the village to the ground and Sasuke would've been the one to stand by his friends.
The same can be said for Kakashi and Obito. Despite all the hardships and death, Kakashi never gave up on love and hope because of Obito. Meanwhile, Obito gave up on those beliefs and wants to control the world his way.
