He's not as good as people think. Many times he has people using bad form. Look at the guy doing side laterals. It is probably dangerous for the shoulder joints to lift with the palms turned back.
Hes an idiot, he sacrifices safety for "hitting the muscles the absolute best". Thats not the way to go in the long term. I call it "Get impinged with Charles Glass"
Gonna steal your side lateral move. What a difference it makes with palms facing rear...can really feel the delts on this one--THANK YOU Charles Glass!
Charles Glass when he talks you listen top trainer for years train allot of the top bodybuilders, a very instructional way of training the shoulders and hitting the two heads front and the sides i have seen this 12 mins video and every time i see it there is always something i learn from watching it, top VIDEO.
Different from other shoulder workout videos. In most other shoulder workout videos, they stand up straight and pull the weight all the way up to their chin instead of bending forward and pull it to the chest. Going to try these today. Thanks for the vid!
Tis was so fun and educating to watch... Tis guy thought me more iabout shoulder exercises in one video than all the other so called fitness models/bodzbuilders on the youtube.
Everyone likes to give Chicarello grieve, but I tell you what, he was born in 1965, which makes him 48 years old. He is looking good for a 48 year old.
Front dumbbell raise; when I squeeze the bottoms of the dumbbells together it hits my upper pec. When I squeeze the tops together at the top of the movement it hits my anterior delts more.Just my .02
golds gym in venice is a mecca for BB. and charles glass is a legend and a guru in the world of BB. it doesnt get more serious than this. maybe u dont know your history.
prob is that Branch is a physically blessed person, he is resistant as fuck. The majority of ppl training like him would not last a month before fucking themselves up badly.
My coworkers laughed when I told them I would get ripped with "Ripped X Beast", but then I showed them the results. Do a search on Google for Ripped X Beast to see their reaction.
The side lat workout is real hard to do. I don't know how this guy gets his arms so high up. You feel really limited in motion when first trying and have to go low weight like 10-15 lbs. I can't tell if I'm getting good work or if I'm just doing an awkward movement and not much else.
2 things utterly wrong with Glass' methodology that will eventually lead to fucked up rotator cuffs: Upright rows should NEVER be done, they accelerate rotator cuff degeneration and if you do them you risk suffering from chronic tendinitis and bursitis. Full ROM Upright rows place the delts in internal rotation as the arm is raised hence not allowing enough room for the greater tubercle (top head of humerus) to clear the acromion (clavicle bone) = IMPINGEMENT. Secondly, for side laterals palms should NOT be facing back. It does create greater tension in the lateral heads however the delts are internally rotated thus increasing the impingement on the tendons and bursae in the space under the roof of the shoulder. This will lead to inflammation and degenerative changes in that soft tissue. Palms should be facing the side, elbows straight and the rom peak should be shoulder height. Your welcome.
I wish I read this before I inflamed my shoulder doing lateral raises palms facing back. Very light weights used, just did not feel well in one of my shoulders where an old RC injury resides. Needless to say, I stopped doing it. Thank you.
skeche Lol ! I feel you. I have been watching this guy Charles Glass and he is on some real garbage. He's always altering things for some unknown reason.
So when doing a shoulder press, wide grip is less range and puts too much stress on joints. But with upright rows, wide grip means less range of motion, which is what keeps the joints safe? Hahaha Glass is a cool guy, but a way over rated trainer.
This is a fucking joke. The video is called safe shoulder workout and the first exercise they show is dangerous! Those side laterals will lead to shoulder damage in the long run due to the internal rotation leading to impingement
croydonkidd1 lateral raise whether dbs or cables will isolate the medial head best however they must be performed palms down within the line of scaption (google it)
croydonkidd1 watch again - you are correct they show the right way - my issue is where afterwards he says " I have my guys do it this way" with the thumbs down pinkies up. While this does give a greater contraction it also creates more impingement
Charles Glass has to be hands down the best teacher out there !!!!
+Vinny Sarcone probably now that Nubret and Mentzer are deceased.
He's not as good as people think. Many times he has people using bad form. Look at the guy doing side laterals. It is probably dangerous for the shoulder joints to lift with the palms turned back.

Damn, Greg Brady has gotten big!
funny, never heard of him......BUT I liked the video. Thanks for posting.
When I do the wide grip upright row I still feel it in my traps. Is that ok?
Man fuck this shit, I wanna train like Branch Warren! I'd kill myself I had to train like this.
prob is that Branch is a physically blessed person, he is resistant as fuck. The majority of ppl training like him would not last a month before fucking themselves up badly.
Nice! Imma try that today!
Lateral raises also put unnecessary stress on shoulders. These exercises will injury you.
What's the song called in the intro, the "pianosong?"
Best regards :)
Upright rows . Shoulder is internally rotated and abducted which will set you up for supraspinatus impingement. Don't do this.
What about Marcus Ruhl?
EXACTLY!!!!
"Go to a serious gym" (sees Gold's gym sign) "Ah fuck I'm gonna get shit for this"
what is the song at 530?

My coworkers laughed when I told them I would get ripped with "Ripped X Beast", but then I showed them the results. Do a search on Google for Ripped X Beast to see their reaction.

LOL @ wearing a belt for seated shoulder raise
Wearing a belt?? De stabilises the whole core and pelvis but he's not even lifting.
Is the interviewer gonna stop flexing?
haha true that
If you dont know anthing about Charles Glass you dont know annything about bodybuilding.

more evidence that glass is just full of shit. sure what ever he did worked for him but that doesn't mean there's no risks.
skeche Lol ! I feel you. I have been watching this guy Charles Glass and he is on some real garbage. He's always altering things for some unknown reason.
are you a trainer or something?
koZmo .seVen Did you use the range of motion Mr. Glass instructs, or did you so you own thing?
So when doing a shoulder press, wide grip is less range and puts too much stress on joints. But with upright rows, wide grip means less range of motion, which is what keeps the joints safe? Hahaha Glass is a cool guy, but a way over rated trainer.
Because they don't cost a lot and no one cares what he's wearing.
This is a fucking joke. The video is called safe shoulder workout and the first exercise they show is dangerous! Those side laterals will lead to shoulder damage in the long run due to the internal rotation leading to impingement
Im a CG fan but as someone who has dealt with impingement I have to agree
what do you suggest as a safe exercise for side shoulders?
croydonkidd1 lateral raise whether dbs or cables will isolate the medial head best however they must be performed palms down within the line of scaption (google it)
natefit nyc what you've described is what's exactly first shown in the video so im confused
croydonkidd1 watch again - you are correct they show the right way - my issue is where afterwards he says " I have my guys do it this way" with the thumbs down pinkies up. While this does give a greater contraction it also creates more impingement
cropped 4x3 video, woooosh
