I appreciate the versatility of Mar Tuuk. Ackbar is limited to your side arcs, which limits the kinds of ships you would run with him. Mar Tuuk works with all of the CIS stuff. That said, I appreciate the simplicity of Ackbar: add 2 red dice regardless, whereas Mar Tuuk forces you to think through the other guy's shields status, etc before you add the red, cancel a die, etc.
I agree with your assessment on both commanders. Both have their ups and downs. I think Mar tuuk being able to be used out of any arc wins out for me, even if it becomes more complicated with how many shields are left. -John
The rebel squadron selection here was a big 76 points sink for no real punch. Not enough bombers for a heavy ship list (which this was) and not enough anti fighter for dealing with an actual fighter heavy list (8+ enemy squadrons would have rolled the A wings). It was obvious they were tacked on as an afterthought where the CIS fleet was pretty well tuned to alpha striking single targets.
That was rough on Ken. Ouch. Patriot Fist is evil. I got my fully shielded, full hull Pelta “One Shotted” by a Patriot Fist at long range, 3 accuracy’s 7 damage and a proton torpedo crit. Gone.
PF + Mar Tuuk is an interesting force multiplier. Long Range starts with 4 Reds and then magically becomes 5 Reds and 2 Blue Dice + 1 ConFire die... - Ken
Thought this was going to be my Mar Tuuk fleet- got all excited, but alas it was only visually same.. Really looking forward to seeing my Mar Tuuk fleet in action😀
Damn that providence just stopped the Mc 30 from existing! That was brutal! Thanks guys! Im really looking towards that campaign because the seppies are my favourite and played by Ken! (No offence John, i just wish seeing Ken winning for once😅)
Evade can be used at all ranges. This was a change in the 1.5 update released on 11 DEC 2020. For attacks at medium and close range, the defender chooses one attack die to be rerolled. (pg 5 RRG)
Sorry for the double up, but @28:17, how is one able to seemingly use the same defense token twice (from ready straight to discarded) for the same attack?
Are you asking about the Evade being spent from Readied (Green) to being discarded? This is a normal use of the Evade token (1.5 update). "When a ship spends an Evade token while defending against a ship of a larger size class, it may cancel or reroll one additional attack die, as appropriate for the attack's range. If it does, discard the spent token, whether it is readied or exhausted." (RRG pg 5)
Ah, thank you again! Just discovered this game last month, bought everything for Rebels and Imperials and am now cramming as much info as I can before presenting my son with the entire rebel fleet for Christmas.
You can check here for the latest rule set. Eventually it will be moved to AMG’s page. images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/3a/13/3a13aa9c-7857-4b98-8a08-5ba9aaaedd89/swm_rules_reference_guide_150.pdf

Mar Tuuk is my dude. Rune Haako powering Intensify Firepower is very strong and efficient..
I really enjoyed using rune in this episode. Used all the other ships to feed him tokens. -John

I'm curious, was it an error to activate the MC30 before the Assault Frigate on round 2? Or was there no way to avoid ramming if Ken did that?
If I remember correctly it had to do with ramming and ken not expecting me to charge him. -John
Oh. That was rough to watch.
Once the trap was sprung it was pretty fast. -John

No offense taken. Yeah that providence really did some work in this episode. -John
Ackbar is quiet strong but the fact he prevents the use of my own salvos in certain circumstances makes maartuk better in my opinion.
I agree with you. Salvo really does change how u evaluate ackbar. -John
Thought you could not use evade at close range (barring certain special card rules like Iden Versio)?

@@IONRadio Ah, thank you for the clarification!
Great game as always, but boy that hurt haha. Nice trap!
Combat was pretty fast in this game. -John

Thank you again, and thank you for the great videos as well as channel!
Thanks, J B. We appreciate the support!
thats was a great game and a even better trap
The cis sprang out of the asteroid field as the rebels slipped into their trap. -John
