another tip
a lot of TVs allow you to label the device as PC and Console, do so as this will reduce latency in general
I get this lag regardless of a dock/tv, even bluetooth headphones have a 1 second lag, it's unusable..
LOL I was literally trying to play The Messenger docked, and starting fighting this problem rather than the Demon King. Turning Game Mode on did the trick. I run everything through an Onkyo receiver, and never noticed an issue with any other console. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks! Time to get some Power Seals!
So if I were to use a steam deck docked with my gaming monitor should I have any issues with lag
doesnt the lapow work directly plugged in via usb c without input lag?
Getting loss of audio with lag while docked. Seems to happen especially when 2 or more controllers are bluetoothee
Having the same issues
You can get 0ms pass thru latency on decent usb hubs and hdmi pass thrus as long as theyre independently powered. The second you use one that’s leeching power off the connection youre all done
Darn. I was hoping for an explanation for why my Steam deck *only* lags while playing games in desktop mode, but the actual desktop environment is fine.
If you mean lags in game mode when docked, I'm trying to find a solution as well. Desktop mode while docked runs perfectly except I can't get the correct controller configurations for games (they might be missing completely) and it defaults to kb + mouse controls even with a connected controller. I can get the correct configurations in game mode.
I've seen people blame the dock, but it makes no sense to me that docked desktop is fine, but docked game mode isn't and I can only believe it's a steam deck problem.
Nonsense. Game mode on. Still lag input. It’s
Related to how it handles Xbox controllers. No lag with switch controllers. Don’t waste your money on the dock he recommends. It’s got literally nothing to
Do with the dock. Total
Click bait video with no helpful content.
So Pretty much, use a PS5 controller instead of an Xbox controller when playing the Steam Deck docked? I know Xbox controllers use some weird random frequency over bluetooth (2.4 I believe)
Excellent video. Helped me out greatly 🤘
I turned on game mode on my tv and it took away my input lag, i am using the jsaux dock from Amazon for $30 and a wired Xbox controller and a 55 inch Hisense 4K tv and game mode eliminates my input lag
How do you like that Jsaux Dock?
@@Wild4 it works really good haven’t had any problems so far
Awesome - I am always looking for extra suggestions on gear 🔥
I didn't notice it playing spider man on my jsaux dock I also have the same TV in this video
I mean switch to a monitor is fine but then it wouldn’t be couch gaming anymore for me
which game are you playing ? ninja gaiden 2 nes?
It's The Messenger from 2018
What about input lag issues when playing fighting games online
That's "delay" and it is caused by you internet
on roku tvs you need to open the tv settings and find game mode and that reduced it a lot!!
great tips.. you've saved valve several hundreds of euros because i was about to send my new steamdeck back ;) thanks!
Is there any way to get 60hz on the anker?
To you and anyone else that see's this. If you're not getting 60Hz or the SteamDeck is lagging while docked - I'm venturing a guess you're outputting to a screen that is higher than 1080p. If you're lagging and NOT outputting to a screen resolution above 1080p then I have no idea what problem you are experiencing so DON'T continue reading what I'm about to say.
There is a "bug" with Linux/Gamescope on SteamDeck and has been for some time. To circumvent the issue you need to buy what is referred to as an EDID. This will make the SteamDeck think that it is outputting to a 1080p device.
If you search for "1080p EDID passthrough" on Amazon you will see plenty of them for about 20$. Hope this helps. Make sure NOT to get a "headless" model. You need the HDMI signal to passthrough. It should have both an HDMI input and output on it. And make sure you're NOT buying a 4K one, the objective here is to trick the SteamDeck into thinking it's outputting to 1080p instead of whatever screen you have. So just pay-attention to the specs. I would link one that works but UA-cam will probably delete it.
1:34 game name?
Brother I want to play on my 65inch tv not on my freaking monitor.
Well if im gonna play on a pc monitor i might as well play on my pc then lol
Thanks for sharing! Now I know how to eliminate lag!
Really? From the title I thought we were going to bake a cake? 🤷🏻♂️
Xbox one and series controllers = stick lag
Ps3 and ps4 controllers = stick lag
Switch pro controller = no stick lag
However .. the switch pro controller doesnt like sleep mode and will give you random disconnects,it also likes a full battery otherwise random disconnect
I tried this with hd tvs and a crt tv,trust me,avoid xbox controllers as they are the worst,ps4 also not good for stick lag
The shitty switch controller is best unfortunately
