Big fan of the idea of a youtube series in which Deadpool gives cliff notes versions of all the on going storylines in the MCU, I think that'd be cute and actually make it feel accessible again
On how to handle 4th wall breaking in the movies, thd answer is simple. Just follow the comics. Outside of Deadpool's comics, everyone just thinks he's crazy. When She-Hulk is in Fantastic Four or Avengers comics, she just doesn't break the 4th wall. The same will work in tv/movies, although if She-Hulk winks at the camera that shouldn't wreck the universe.
For an in-universe explanation, his 4th wall breaking and the concept of the multiverse are actually part of the same concept: Both Deadpool and She Hulk can see across realities because something in their mutations allows that. In Marvel lore, our universe (real life) is part of their Multiverse, so if Deadpool can see across timelines he will also be able to see our timeline where his films and the MCU exists as works of fiction. This is why the TVA would be interested in him.
Deadpool is working for the TVA. At some point he killed/pruned Wolverine. Then there is some big falling out, and then the fight scene against the TVA. He gets pruned. He wakes up in the void and meets a very pissed off wolverine. They chat for a little while, they kill each other for a little while. Then they realize they both need and want the same thing. So they work together to accomplish whatever the goal is. To get back to the MCU universe.
At the end of Deadpool 2 we see Deadpool go back in time to save Vanessa. But when he kills the X-men Origins Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds he’s going back in time in a different dimension. Maybe those two scenes are from Deadpool 3 or shows what he is hired by the TVA to do.
Probably fixing some shit in the timelines he created somehow eventually choosing to just fly solo with Wolvie and start killing the TVA to avoid being pruned or arrested
@ScreenCrush ( Ryan ) - I am honestly enjoying your most recent (Deadpool) content, and as a new subscriber, all I ask is that you keep up the great work!
I am pretty sure we see the back of Cassandra Nova's head in that one shot. So i think she got pruned, used her psychic powers to take control of Alioth and therefore take control of rhe void. Deadpools mission is to take her out. Wr might even find out that all the timelines pruned in Loki s1e2 were the fox universes.
How about She-Hulk wasn't changing HER universe, but rather K.E.V.I.N. using her requests to shop around for an alternate universe to plunk her down in?
It'll be very interesting to see the limits of Deadpool's fourth wall breaking omnipotence and whether or how it impacts the knowledge that he actually has at his disposal to help him solve the plot of the story. For instance, when he responds with "I Am Marvel Jesus", how will paradox react? Will Deadpool be informed of or even make reference to Kang in any way during his time interacting with the TVA? Would he make a Jonathan Majors DV joke? Would any of that real world meta knowledge actually be incorporated into how he solves the plot? Only time will tell
You might want to mention HOLY MOUNTAIN by Alejandro Jodorowski. It's got a wonderful metaphysical fourth wall break, AND a re enactment of Cortez vs the Aztecs wtih the Aztecs are toads, and the Spanish are Chameleons, all in appropriate costume. Surrealism wasn't always part of pop culture. Once upon a time, it was art.
First scene: Deadpool in a toupee at a birthday/anniversary blowing out candles when the TVA knock on the door? Firstly, I didn't think the TVA knocked, but aside from that when the dimension door opened and DP fell through one of the TVA operatives grabbed DP by the head and looked genuinely surprised when the toupee came off. I think that might be a set-up by DP, possible that there are now multiple TVAs even. I just thing that its likely that that scene could be from the second act of the movie, not the first. Additionally; in the post-credits of DP2, DP was killing himself... eliminating variant DPs? Maybe hes the only one left.
I don't think so. I think it is something to do with Cassandra Nova, the Variant of Professor X (yes, variant, not twin, if TVA is involved it is to deal with rogue variant). Since Cassandra Nova has superhuman regeneration ability and her variant, Charles Xavier does not, the TVA needs someone with that ability, hence why they recruited Deadpool and Wolverine, both posses regeneration/healing ability.
I think u got it R-Dawg!!. Your supposition sounds suspenseful and solid!!. I Love illiteration lol!!. The flick will be a Blast no matter what, but I definitely would like to see what you've proposed
Pyro is in the trailer also you didn’t mention him his @ the 18:42 mark where you said looks like TVA agents , with the same actor playing him Aaron Stanford who played him in the X-Men movies.
I think the bulk of it, the reason he is actually recruited is to retrieve or stop someone from an already pruned universe possibly to stop professor xs cassandra variant. Using his 4th wall ability to communicate with the team from within the void perhaps. Plus he's the ideal merc to do it since he can't die
Breaking the fourth wall refers specifically to speaking directly to the audience. Rick doesn’t talk to the audience, commenting on the narrative from an outside perspective is meta.
They might reveal that the main bad guy, hiding and pulling the strings is dr doom at the end of the movie. Just like they did with Thanos initially. He’s probably recruiting Deadpool, for the reasons you discussed that he has a special ability, to prune superheroes from different worlds to collect them in the void, perhaps worlds that are going through an incursion. And collecting them in what will be called battle world. But eventually Deadpool does not want to do that anymore, maybe he finds out information. And so he might end up prunning himself just like Loki did. And that’s probably all that we saw in the trailer and the first half of the movie lol Also, in terms of breaking the fourth wall and moving from one reality to another, they could’ve planted the seed with how Ultran heard The Watcher on What If season 1 🤔. So there is president of fourth wall, breaking in such a way.
What if was created to be stand alone stories much different than what were discussing in MCU stories. I could be wrong however the MCU stories are used in what if cuz that's smart way cheaper way to continue with content and do things differently that's the whole point not the other way around where what if stories will impact the MCU. Logic dictates that what if is a universe to itself not the ones we see in live action since it's animated universe and yes we have seen cartoon universes in multiverse. Idk what marvel will do it's just so many are confused on what if and how it impacts the movie verse. Including me I guess.
@Byronic19134 yes, He is,...when with the group. That's the very thing that he questioned Fury on in Winter Soldier when Natasha, an Avenger, was off on her own solo mission for Fury.
The whole 2012 timeline is broken and requires pruning at that very instance. And should have been S1E1 of Loki. The past Avengers don't realize they already fought Thanos thru Loki in the Battle of NY, Chitauri invasion, even though Tony died in another realm, Nuking the hole closed... but didn't Thor have to shock his life back? ...basically, it is the 1st incursion. No dreamwalk is necessary. No Peter Parker spells. Deadpool2 or Wandavision hex. My theory is AoS setup battleworld and the Void for the Loki Show well in advance... making T.A.H.I.T.I. an early model of K.E.V.I.N., Phil Coulson the LMD, possibly by the time of Captain Marvel 1 where he is replaced by a Skrull, who tried to kill Fury but died in an unfortunate bus collision reveal of lil green men on Earth in the mid90s. Fake Timekeepers... are the integrated tech of simple robots from the Agents of SHIELD 1980s. The work of Chronicom Atarah and Sybil, which both look like early variant choices of Judge Ravonna MoonKnight variant Rensselaer, who Kang loved in Egypt as RamaTut, was under bad orders and a dirty boss. Even his HR system, Ms. MINUTES was corrupt. Think about when the Alien Confederacy made Graviton aware that even now, Thanos's forces have conquered earth... Alioth and the "evil" that travels in a planetary storm, eating people and destroying all in its way. AoS did the best universe build. LOKI and Coulson have the legendary relationship that sets the MCU in place. Watch Loki Season 1 and check out the bunker on from AoS...even when Ward ends up there,... FitzSimmons had both made contact on that world. Same bunker as Loki's. And if the 21st century Fox logo is there, so is the massive Hydra monolith from AoS.
This movie makes me wonder if they are using some of Gwen pooles backstory, but instead of her being pulled into marvel comics, wade Gets pulled into the MCU
Heather, being a Deadpool writer, could speak to this better than me, but my understanding has always been that Deadpool is the writer of his stories, and he may not be a reliable narrator. He can break the 4th wall because he's telling us the story.
100% this! Especially in the first movie where so much of the story is Deadpool "catching us up" with flashbacks. Weasel using fourth wall breaking phrases like "might further the plot" indicate that Deadpool's recall of events isn't perfect.
Characters that have like Scarlet Witch or telepaths like Jean Grey would eventually become self-aware. Same thing with characters like Harley Quinn that completely not all there would eventually also become self-aware
Im curious if it's something to do with the Void where they send stuff. Like maybe Alioth was taken by Ravona or something and so everything that gets pruned (the fox xmen) are running free around the void, like we saw Pyro maybe mad max style and so they need Wade to go kill them all
I think some hilarious writing would be if Deadpool announced “CGi FIGHT” and the. It cuts to a screen that says “huge fight big budget cut” and then it clips to Deadpool saying, man I feel like I’ve been flailing my arms at nothing for 40 minutes.
I think MT on Heavy Spoilers has a VERY interesting theory. He posited that Paradox is a rougue TVA agent that doesn't agree with the new leadership/direction that has been established under B-15 and Co. This would explain why we see Wade both cooperating with Paradox at first and THEN straight body-ing TVA agents later in the trailer. Also, notice that the agents we see at Wade's door are still dressed in the "old-school" version of the TVA uniforms. I can't say with any certainty that this theory is correct, but it definitely lines up with what we've seen so far. Pretty interesting to think about!
I liked the K.E.V.I.N. scene. I see him as The One Above All which allows it to still work within the mechanics of the universe. Breaking the Disney+ nav screen also worked for me as it was just so surreal. What pulled the curtain back too much for me was the writers' room scene. I've got a long-held theory (based on Korg and those Ragnarok plays) that the films we see are reenactments of the actual events. I think this allows all of the films to be literal films without undercutting the stories themselves. Just wish it was as told by the heroes themselves rather than as told by the Hollywood writers which the one She-Hulk scene on the Marvel lot suggests.
Ultra meta... In the movie, whether Deadpool saves the MCU depends on whether the movie itself does well. Lol the movie itself decides what the movie does
I think Deadpool is going to be sent to kill Kingpin, and after a brutal fight, just as Deadpool is about to stab Kingpin through the heart, Kingpin says “Save Vanessa”. And that’s what makes Deadpool do a 180 and turn on the TVA. 😂😂😂
I love the idea that 'Very Special' comment is about Wade's ability to see through the fourth wall. I think this just gave me missing pieces. TVA (black ops TVA?) task DP with killing certain timelines. He destroys FoX Men/F4/DD Universes/begins destroying own Universe, before realising what he's done. He challenges TVA and gets pruned. He then realises what the Void at end of Time could be and plans/starts using it as an 'Ark' (MarvelNoah) to save those he loves and maybe others in his Universe. The film becomes the Mad Max/ Fury Road as they all view for their place. I don't think we're going to see MCU in this yet, only teased.
Being kidnapped and then having criminals break into your home in retaliation for your spouse's line of work could easily be the reason for their breakup, with either Vanessa or Wade initiating. This could also explain the implications that Wade has given up the mercenary lifestyle. So the TVA approaching him could be somewhat of a "back in the saddle" trope, but since it's interdimensional, Vanessa will be safe (in theory). Also, I think we learned in DP2 that Wade isn't actually immortal. Death doesn't come easily for him.
Regarding the 20th Century Fox Logo: Maybe the TVA goes around the multiverse by pruning not the universes where the movies take place but the movie that takes place in a universe, like we are destroying for example X-Men 3 from the timeline with the ending of Days of Future past which brings the Golden Gate Bridge, Pyro and the 20th Century logo into the void because all the movie components are being pruned. Like saying we should all forget about X3…
What I think is that because Deadpool Time Traveled on Deadpool 2, the TVA is now hunting him which is why he is fighting them in the trailer, and then later the TVA discovered his identity which they knocked on Wade's door.
Also, I think he’s being recruited as an assassin because of his healing, skill and 4th wall breaking. Notice how the TVA see’s events like we do. Like a movie. They are probably watching Wade Wilson thinking “Um, is he talking to us? How does he know about The Winter Soldier or Iron Man?
20:19 I wouldn't mind seeing Kevin or K.E.V.I.N. in film it's like coming to the Ultimate Universe. Makes the Universe feel like home, even after we leave the cinemas, knowing we are the extras, just like Stan Lee told us we were. When the Twin Towers fell, who ASSEMBELED, AVENGED, 7 who still DEFENDS?! Comics & real life! We have to accept the fact that we are part of a bigger universe, Heather is an example, or Stan Lee in the Spiderman TAS finale.
But the TVA uniforms that we see in the trailer are the older version. Not the Loki series version. So it might not be the TVA of the end of season 2. But a He who remains TVA that recruits him, since they can travel anywhere in time.
I really hope that they actually use Deadpool's 4th wall breaking as a tool for Secret Wars. Sure he's 'aware' that he's talking to 'an audience', but he isn't really aware of his ability to break the fourth wall, he just does it. I hope that Kang or someone/something causes him to become fully aware of his abilites, and it breaks him. This would prompt an awesome Hunger Games style Secret Wars movie!
Hear me out, a show that is basically Mystery Science Theatre 3000 but it is just Ryan Reynolds and Tatiana Maslany in character as Deadpool and She-Hulk respectively, watching the whole MCU and extended/adjacent universes, making jokes about what they are watching, and criticizing what they are watching and generally being goofballs and saying how they would have made it better. Then from time to time, Deadpool could use his TVA device (they will probably give him some kind of Temp-Pad device to navigate the multiverse) he will bring in characters from the MCU and ask them why they did things a certain way, or critique their fighting style, then drop them back into the action. They could literally have a half-hour show for every film in the MCU, and could do hour long specials to binge watch a season of the TV shows, then they have a debate as to whether Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D is canon in MCU, and same with Inhumans. Then they can do the same for the Spider-Man films with Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland and Shameik Moore, and also for the Venom films and Morbius, Madam Web, and also the X-Men films, and also the older cartoons. Like they could get so much content this way that people would actually watch on Disney+. As they watch, they realize that someone is watching them, and is aware of them, and they speak to the audience, and at some point the audience answers back, and its GWENPOOL! Oh yeah, then she is in the MCU via the backdoor in a meta-narrative, then she just starts randomly popping into other people's films, and then she eventually gets her own film or series.
First off, Gwenpool is awesome. Thanks for bringing us her. Second, I like the way Malcolm in the Middle broke the fourth wall. It didn't feel out of place or like it was mocking something.
“In my dreams, Deadpool fixes everything.” Before season 2 of Loki I would’ve said that would be a pipe-dream but after that incredible series, writing and performance: I think you might be right. I’m with ya! Deadpool WILL fix everything (I hope)!!!👀
KEVIN also breaks Loki: The entrie plot over two seasons is Loki gaining and sharing free will, but like Ryan said, now a robot told Tom Hiddleston to make his character give everyone free will, taking away the stakes of that entire show.
Either Deadpool was recruited by the TVA to eliminate rogue characters from different timelines and universes that aren't supposed to be there, like Loki was in the TV show, then realizes that his own universe, or Vanessa who he saved and is maybe technically not supposed to be around is going to be destroyed and that when he fights the TVA... OR He's recruited to eliminate a rogue faction of the TVA, and probably there's some twist where he realizes the rogue faction is actually the good guys, Or maybe elements of both.
My guess is that if this movie does address Deadpool breaking the 4th wall, perhaps it'll be revealed that he is talking to the Watcher. It would be too weird for it to fully acknowledge itself as a movie part of the MCU like She-Hulk did. How they handle that, will probably determine whether this movie nails it or not.
I think the void in this movie will have all the Fox marvel characters living in it. You guys could do a pretty crazy theory video on who would be teamed up living in this version of the Fox void.
I think because his awareness of the universe that he’s in. We will find that his goal in this movie is to save MCU. As in the Marvel cinematic universe, Disney, Fox. he knows he’s a part of it, and he knows that it’s failing. This is something the writers of Deadpool understand as well. I think that that will either be a major plot, or at least a subplot.
Heres what I dont get. Only the alt universe in MOM referred to the 616 as the 616. Did this universe take that naming convention from the TVA? Vice versa?
Long time Deadpool fan here. When that test footage came out I was so hype and when the movie came out I watched it 100 times and the best part was all the merchandise that suddenly became mainstream. That being said the only thing I didn't care for about the movies was the way they break the 4th wall. I wish it was more comic accurate about his "mental illness" and the multiple voices in his head brought about from the process of him gaining his powers. I really think they missed out on what I think it's the funniest thing about him. Like when the characters comment "who are you talking to?" or "what are you talking about?". I feel like the video game nailed it. There is an obvious difference between comic accuracy & film adaptation so I think they are going to be operating between multiple realities; comic continuity, film continuity, series continuity and the reality of their existence. I would have just focused on the cinematic universes until they dropped that doom comic on the table. Anyways looking forward to all the discussions Deadpool related. I'm feeling as excited as when they dropped the test footage!!!
If Deadpool found K.E.V.I.N. and told him to change it so he’s the only one who can break the fourth wall, then it’s like a meta jab on the changing the ending thing from She-Hulk but it also gives Marvel an out of what people were complaining about
My theory about his mission is that he's sent to the void to stop an uprising by the survivors in the void. Because they stopped pruning whole universes Aloith is weak from malnourishment. That gives a chance to the survivors left in the void to escape.
100% Deadpool is gunna go back in time and leak ryan reynolds test footage to kickstart his own timeline again after something bad happens. And then save nelson mandela from dying in prison.

They chat for a little while, they kill each other for a little while. Then they realize they both need and want the same thing. So they work together to accomplish whatever the goal is. To get back to the MCU universe.
Damn.
What do you think is Deadpool's Mission?
To either stop an incursion or a kang variant from destroying universe 616 and the x men universe
Probably fixing some shit in the timelines he created somehow eventually choosing to just fly solo with Wolvie and start killing the TVA to avoid being pruned or arrested
I think tva will help them to gets multiverse team for secret wars
I think he’ll post to be helping with the multiverse but ends up messing up and it will lead into secret wars
To let Marvel do a first pass of cleanup before the Secret Wars reset. I imagine that they want to ease us into some of the changes.
Great breakdown ,and creative theory always ryan best one out there.
“I used to roll around in dead birds” Doug that was the best line ever you doggie!
What if, Deadpool is talking to the Watcher and the Watcher told Deadpool he is in an interactive movie and to just act "normal".
This is a great theory tho ngl. I'll let you cook...
I think Paradox wants to put all mutant variants to the void because there are no mutants in the sacred timeline!
Yeah this makes sense ngl good theory
@ScreenCrush ( Ryan ) -
I am honestly enjoying your most recent (Deadpool) content, and as a new subscriber, all I ask is that you keep up the great work!
They prune branching time lines... not entire adjacent universes.
How about She-Hulk wasn't changing HER universe, but rather K.E.V.I.N. using her requests to shop around for an alternate universe to plunk her down in?
Daniel Radcliffe playing Mojo would be hella-meta, it wraps the 4th wall around us as the audience as he feeds on our ratings and meta-commentary
Idk if this was said but before the “4th wall” or the person deadpool talks to could be where the watcher sits? Or he’s talking directly to Kevin
I just did a rewatch of that movie a couple of weeks ago. Haha, what a wild movie.
Colton and Heather are the fucking best. I love their takes on these stories.
You know what, the 4th wall is the TVA. When Deadpool talking to us, he's talking to the TVA
Definitely wondering what Deadpool will be doing !!
Been waiting all day for this!!
Deadpool could be searching for the Continuity Stone as a way to reset the Marvel Universe. In the end, he uses it to get rid of K.E.V.I.N.
I'm telling you the tva needs Deadpool to find & fire Jonathan Majors to explain why there's no kang in the mcu
Wade heads out to recruit Hulk in ultron & TVA works to stop Wade & succeeds so Wade heads to Sakarr for Gladiator Hulk, then Madripoor
Pyro is in the trailer also you didn’t mention him his @ the 18:42 mark where you said looks like TVA agents , with the same actor playing him Aaron Stanford who played him in the X-Men movies.
Great video guys, thanks
Wade would do anything for love... but he won't do that (kill Vanessa). *Cue the Meatloaf song* Great theory Ryan. I like it.
The "Olaf Presents" stuff is fantastic on Disney+ and I really want a "Deadpool Presents" like Heather said!
Is that hit monkey sitting beside patch on the left? If so that would be AMAZING!!!!
I think they are sending dead pool to take out Kevin because they can’t see the 4th wall and don’t want him in control
And that’s probably all that we saw in the trailer and the first half of the movie lol
Also, in terms of breaking the fourth wall and moving from one reality to another, they could’ve planted the seed with how Ultran heard The Watcher on What If season 1 🤔.
My favorite doug line in this episode…”they are standing apart and she calls him buddy”
“But they…ooh 🥺”
Captain America could be the catalyst of time breaking.
What the Avengers did was supposed to happen but NOT Steve going off and aging his character.
Somehow this is easily the most random theory I heard yet. Steve is an Avenger.
@Byronic19134 yes, He is,...when with the group. That's the very thing that he questioned Fury on in Winter Soldier when Natasha, an Avenger, was off on her own solo mission for Fury.
❤
The whole 2012 timeline is broken and requires pruning at that very instance.
And should have been S1E1 of Loki.
The past Avengers don't realize they already fought Thanos thru Loki in the Battle of NY, Chitauri invasion, even though Tony died in another realm, Nuking the hole closed... but didn't Thor have to shock his life back?
...basically, it is the 1st incursion.
No dreamwalk is necessary.
No Peter Parker spells.
Deadpool2 or Wandavision hex.
My theory is AoS setup battleworld and the Void for the Loki Show well in advance... making T.A.H.I.T.I. an early model of K.E.V.I.N.,
Phil Coulson the LMD, possibly by the time of Captain Marvel 1 where he is replaced by a Skrull, who tried to kill Fury but died in an unfortunate bus collision reveal of lil green men on Earth in the mid90s.
Like maybe Alioth was taken by Ravona or something and so everything that gets pruned (the fox xmen) are running free around the void, like we saw Pyro maybe mad max style and so they need Wade to go kill them all
Is it just me or the "to be a hero among heroes" part sounds like Loki talking there?
Yep. It looks like Marvel mixed Mr. Paradox voice with Loki's voice
I think Cassandra is way beyond too powerful for the MCU if she is in DP3 its going to be interesting to see how she's portrayed.
I wonder if they tried pruning her and instead she went to the void and mind controlled Alioth so now she is building up an army of mutant.
Not sure if I'm the only one who experiences this, but this is the only UA-cam channel who's videos I can view on my phone minimized
Maybe to stop an incursion or a kang variant from destroying the x men universe and universe 616
Ultra meta... In the movie, whether Deadpool saves the MCU depends on whether the movie itself does well.
Lol the movie itself decides what the movie does
Could you speculate on when the Echo Plot Holes Explained video that was promoted will be complete?
Thank yall ! got here early for this
I think Deadpool is going to be sent to kill Kingpin, and after a brutal fight, just as Deadpool is about to stab Kingpin through the heart, Kingpin says “Save Vanessa”. And that’s what makes Deadpool do a 180 and turn on the TVA. 😂😂😂
I just want to see variants of Reed Richards all saying the incursion line
I'm pretty sure that will happen in secret wars
I can’t believe the guy that played Ron Weasley is doing guest appearances on UA-cam Vids now
?????
Haha because no one else hire him
Also he was bored and not get hired for the next Harry Potter series
Man, I wish I had a time machine so I could watch this already hahah
This film could have canonized Agents of SHIELD
If I'm not mistaken....k.e.v.i.n. said she-hulk wasn't going to be able to get to that room again... right?
Also, I think he’s being recruited as an assassin because of his healing, skill and 4th wall breaking. Notice how the TVA see’s events like we do. Like a movie. They are probably watching Wade Wilson thinking “Um, is he talking to us? How does he know about The Winter Soldier or Iron Man?
It's alot of fun. Just imagining scenes from a Deadpool movie. Songs do that to me.
Great Video!
I click for the Doug, and I stay for the opinions.
Look at the views! Crazy! I can’t wait for this movie
We need promotional spots with Deadpool watching MCU movies with Luis and/or She-Hulk. Luis would have no clue what's going on, but Jen Walters would.
Gwenpool mentioned ❤
The throw-away line could be in reference to the 20th Century Fox should be..."What the Fox!?!"
OR
He's recruited to eliminate a rogue faction of the TVA, and probably there's some twist where he realizes the rogue faction is actually the good guys,
Or maybe elements of both.
Can't wait for Deadpool. I thought the "I wasn't unconscious" line from the trailer was hilarious.
That was a master class in transition to ad sponsor.
If Deadpool found K.E.V.I.N. and told him to change it so he’s the only one who can break the fourth wall, then it’s like a meta jab on the changing the ending thing from She-Hulk but it also gives Marvel an out of what people were complaining about
At this time I've heard Reed explaining Incursions more than I've heard my mom saying "I Love You"
What if there's an alternate TVA? Maybe a rogue version. Or maybe different dimension
