Jessica McCool yeah, it's really fast and I love how there is no bloatware. Battery is good and camera is great. Although, the back glass panel is pretty sensitive, so you may want a case.

So why is nobody really talking about how (just like Unbox Therapy videos), there's no jack! Last year, Google shaded Apple for having no headphone jack and now they did the exact same thing and didn't put a headphone jack in neither the Pixel 2 nor the Pixel 2 XL! idk but that seems kinda hypocritical (and kinda copy-catish) to me!
I didn't say it was a good phone lol but yeah I had the Xperia Z2 and it was my favourite phone after my S7 edge I use now.. Since then it all went to shits. At the time the Z2 was way above other phones!
I've not heard the XZ premium speakers but yeah considering how many smartphones use Sony censors in their camera, no idea how they don't have the quality (and of course their own camera range!) Even on my Z2 years ago, no point having a 20 megapixel camera that can only 8 megapixel if you want to use features like HDR and EIS.. I hope that's changed at least!

In my opinion, yes. Especially the display is better. It's higher resolution, has much better viewing angles, it's bigger, and brighter. You also have the Spen as an option. The note 8 has more ram as well. Both batteries last around the same amount of time as shown on the Techno Buffalo comparison but I'm not entirely sure about that. If you don't crave pure stock android, I would 100% go for the Note 8. And yes, it comes in "Midnight" Black.
Joseph Chan I mean I use the sPen and I prefer the more square design, and the slightly bigger screen, so it's worth it for me. But both phones are great though. And yep the iPhone x is ugly as fuck too lmao

Both the Nexus 6 and 6P have front facing speakers. Totally agree with you with regards to iPhone X Face Recognition when using Apple Pay. Seems silly.
That’s not how it works though. He was just describing facial recognition on Samsung devices really. On the X you don’t have to have your phone aimed directly at your face, and it’s also instant. Think Touch ID.
lilDeviant should be better, but still you need to let the x sees you to unlock, fingerprint can unlock the phone just before you raise it up. More or less it's still an awkward way. But except for the payment situation, I deem daily use won't be a matter.

I like google but honestly it seems like they're just trying to copy Apple and catch up to them. Trying to roast Apple during their presentation was sad, and eventually they are going to add dual cameras (even though they also bashed those), and are straight up ripping off some of Apple's things like live photos, no headphone jack, etc, while iPhone has faceID, wireless charging, dual cameras, best processer currently, and the x is pretty much bezzeless

Tawkir Rahaman No issues with software yet. It is just that many have issues with lag in day to day performance as the device ages. Samsung has been notoriously slow in software updates. Plus, Samsung Experience (formerly TouchWiz) has been so heavily integrated into Android in the past. This has contributed to poor timely updates. Solution: Oreo update brings a standard that drives updates separate from overlays. At least that is what I read somewhere. If Samsung keeps their overlay and apps separate from the core of Android, (like Nova Launcher) we can enjoy timely updates. Samsung can keep it simple for themselves and update their apps and overlays like any other developer. This would eliminate the headache of massive updates that require rollouts by them that have to be vetted by carriers before it hits the customer. Take a page out of Apple's playbook. Make one universal unit. Let Google control Android updates. Samsung controls overlay and app updates. Carrier bloatware can be pushed as an activation requirement on their network, like Google's Project Fi. What do you think?

Victor Zell the question Lewis posed in the video and the question being answered here was whether this is the FIRST Nexus or Pixel device with front facing stereo speakers. The answer is no. The Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X and as iducatifan1 stated, the Nexus 6P all had them before.
"Is this the first Pixel or Nexus device with stereo speakers facing forward?" No, the Nexus 10 had stereo speakers. The Nexus 5X has two speakers but they don't actually work in stereo, only the bottom one is for media and the top is only for calling. Bummer. The Nexus 6P also has two speakers but I'm not sure if it's stereo. I may have missed a few more. EDIT: the Motorola Nexus 6 also had 'em, and the speakers on the 6P are stereo unlike the 5X. I guess among all the tech companies Google is heading in right direction. they are not focusing much on the hardware as it is already at a level where hardware innovation is pretty saturated. The software part has still a tremendous potential to explore and innovate. I love how Google is focusing and investing its resources on Machine Learning.. which I believe is the future and can really revolutionise the user interaction. after watching today's Google launch event I am switching entirely to Google Eco-system. Simply Love Google and the G Team.

Google is in a very good position to offer fantastic software experience as they already have the userbase needed in other products e.g. gmail, youtube...etc. They have plenty of resources to push AI in phones further, whereas companies like apple are trying to play catch-up on their software, but are noweher near as successful (apple music and icloud simply don't have enough people). Hardware as a whole is quite difficult to innovate, and any large company can purchase a group of designers (HTC in the case of Google) to create a polished smartphone.

First, uploading a couple hours of 4K is a 120 GB file, so what are you going to do on a vacation trip? Even then how do you upload a 120 GB file over even WiFi .. by the time your stop / start / snail paced Internet speeds; best case scenario 50-70 hours of non-stop uploading.** However, to edit the movie you need to repeat the process and download to your PC.
DAC .. come on buddy, search *LG dedicated DAC* .. who knows you might learn something.
How about the option of having your wallet with several 256 GB or 512 GB SD cards and a 15 second swap?

That’s not how it works though. He was just describing facial recognition on Samsung devices really.
On the X you don’t have to have your phone aimed directly at your face, and it’s also instant. Think Touch ID.
lilDeviant should be better, but still you need to let the x sees you to unlock, fingerprint can unlock the phone just before you raise it up. More or less it's still an awkward way.

I like google but honestly it seems like they're just trying to copy Apple and catch up to them. Trying to roast Apple during their presentation was sad, and eventually they are going to add dual cameras (even though they also bashed those), and are straight up ripping off some of Apple's things like live photos, no headphone jack, etc, while iPhone has faceID, wireless charging, dual cameras, best processer currently, and the x is pretty much bezzeless

This is an incredible device! I would go for XL in the 🐼. I want to move from my S8+ to this. Peace of mind on software experience is key and it is a great device!

Tawkir Rahaman No issues with software yet. It is just that many have issues with lag in day to day performance as the device ages. Samsung has been notoriously slow in software updates. Plus, Samsung Experience (formerly TouchWiz) has been so heavily integrated into Android in the past. This has contributed to poor timely updates.
Solution: Oreo update brings a standard that drives updates separate from overlays. At least that is what I read somewhere. If Samsung keeps their overlay and apps separate from the core of Android, (like Nova Launcher) we can enjoy timely updates. Samsung can keep it simple for themselves and update their apps and overlays like any other developer. This would eliminate the headache of massive updates that require rollouts by them that have to be vetted by carriers before it hits the customer.
Take a page out of Apple's playbook. Make one universal unit. Let Google control Android updates. Samsung controls overlay and app updates. Carrier bloatware can be pushed as an activation requirement on their network, like Google's Project Fi.

Victor Zell the question Lewis posed in the video and the question being answered here was whether this is the FIRST Nexus or Pixel device with front facing stereo speakers. The answer is no. The Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X and as iducatifan1 stated, the Nexus 6P all had them before.

No, the Nexus 10 had stereo speakers. The Nexus 5X has two speakers but they don't actually work in stereo, only the bottom one is for media and the top is only for calling. Bummer.
The Nexus 6P also has two speakers but I'm not sure if it's stereo. I may have missed a few more.

I guess among all the tech companies Google is heading in right direction. they are not focusing much on the hardware as it is already at a level where hardware innovation is pretty saturated. The software part has still a tremendous potential to explore and innovate. I love how Google is focusing and investing its resources on Machine Learning.. which I believe is the future and can really revolutionise the user interaction. after watching today's Google launch event I am switching entirely to Google Eco-system. Simply Love Google and the G Team.

Google is in a very good position to offer fantastic software experience as they already have the userbase needed in other products e.g. gmail, youtube...etc. They have plenty of resources to push AI in phones further, whereas companies like apple are trying to play catch-up on their software, but are noweher near as successful (apple music and icloud simply don't have enough people). Hardware as a whole is quite difficult to innovate, and any large company can purchase a group of designers (HTC in the case of Google) to create a polished smartphone.
