Polyphia : " Me and my bros are gonna have a jam session at sunrise in your church."
Pastor: "Cool."
Hahahahaha
As a pastor I would have no issues.
@@spooomplsspeakeasy3888 I like it bro
😂
Cool pasta
"That bass work sounded great."
*smiles at whats to come*
Bust out the Ti-84 graphing calculators boys, we're gonna need some time to figure this math rock shit out 📈
Good thing I only know gear and not music theory. Hahaha
but this song is written in 4/4...
@@DurealzForReal Yup. 4/4 straight blues basically . . . Doesn't make it ANY less Awesome! Love this band and this piece. Thanx Tank.
sick but this ain't math
They used to tour with a math band (chon) but I don't think poly has ever written in anything outside of 4/4 (as someone else pointed out) they're however hyper technical and employ some really rad techniques.
WOAH. Shout out to my man Tank for pausing at the perfect moments BETWEEN phrases and not in the middle of them. Finally someone who tries to pay attention. Definitely do some more of these
Thanks man!
TIMI HENDRIX IS INDESTRUCTIBLE!
FACTS!
Lie, if he gets hit by a car he definitely is hurt.
@@OriginalPuro lol
Jason Richardson entered the chat
Dont compare him to Jimi hendrix. Its an insult for Jimi
This guy is Haley Joel Osmont if he aged better.
I’ll take it. 😂
Nah he's Lil dickey if he was a metalhead
Nah fam, I don't see it
@@lil-reaper0777 damn u right, I’m dead😂
Both Tim and Scott have thier own Ibanez models. Both are AZ models Tim's is the THBB10 & Scott is the SLM 10.
Tims looks so clean. Ima buy it Christmas for myself aha
On the subject of Animals as Leaders, Tim's recently gotten into the slapping technique and Tosin Abasi was the one who taught him. His solo in Unprocessed's "Real" is really cool! Also, if you look into their older stuff, you'll get a lot of the heavier "metal" stuff you probably were expecting, but starting with The Most Hated EP, they've been transitioning more into this style. My personal favorites are Goose, The Worst (also Tim's producer name!), and 40 oz.
Ah yes. A musician that appreciates the BASS.
I approve
Davie504 has actually just recently did a challenge and it was Tim Henson challenging him to do this song but the guitar part on bass.
Tim Henson didn't challenge him, it was just a fan
Tim didn’t submit that as a challenge, it was him just playing the opening to Goat, but someone sent that to Davie asking him to play it. I can understand how you got that messed up tho.
Not sure whether henson challenged him but he nailed it. Legend.
The tone Tim Has on Rich Kids is super cool. I'd never heard a vocoder on a guitar before.
Yo Tank not sure if you know yet but Tim and Scott (guitarists) also have their own signature Ibanez models now with their own signature DiMarzio pickups. Incredible talent.
I saw that while I was researching stuff for this video. Super sick!
Their song O.D. is really interesting as well
O.D. is probably my second favourite off of NLND right after G.O.A.T
I discovered them today, and from the first moment I thought "I have to see if Tank reacted to them" and here we are.
I am normally not into instrumental, but this is incredible.
Ha, same for me, just came here after seeing the Nic Nokturnal reaction to Playig God ^^ Grüße gehen raus :D
I usually don't really like instrumental music, but this has been on repeat the whole day. Get goosebumps every time the first guitarist starts to play!
The tone in that guitar work blows my mind. Layered harmonics always catch my attention! Amazing stuff
Jason Richardson’s section on Aviator will spin your noggin. That man went bananas on a skill demonstration. Can’t wait for the reaction.
Hell yeah! Can't wait to check it out. I love Jason's work.
Yea Jason is a beast
The combo of Jason and Luke Holland is amazing💪🏻
Daniel Ehret I couldn’t agree more. Those two found a special niche for music together.
Eric Calvert yeah the „Hos down“session with Rick Graham is f***ing mind blowing 🤯
Yaasss for the fast chordal tapping and harmonics! The mixing here is pretty insane and they absolutely crush it live. This was the opening song when I went to their show last year.
Something new to add in to the instrumental jamming playlist, Sakura by Within Destruction feat. Jason Richardson just released a week ago. Prepare for the new wave of kawaiicore.
🤘🤘🤘
Sakura came in as a surprise to me like an ultra-rare Pokemon. Probably because I'm used to the heavier side of Within Destruction. But I really enjoyed it. Yokai with Crystal Lake's Ryo has been my fav from their new album ✊
Yes ma’am
Juliette, thanks a lot for this recommendation. Listening to Yōkai now and I think I'm in love with this record.
@@everett880 I swear, you're probably my long lost brother 😂 #sadboikroo
Ironically, my favorite song by them is called "the worst". Super groovy and the guitar tone is tasty af
one of my favourite riffs is the worst
Dude love the presentation. The content is executed well and the pauses or comments help the experience where most stop to mi h or have to much bs. Keep this 🆙
Polyphia is awesome! They have such a groove factor. 👍🤘
Glad you enjoyed it. I just found them recently and I've heard this song a bunch. Something I noticed just now is the use of silence in the song was very well considered for punctuating between different parts of the song
Love the AAL in the background at the start. Good stuff man, glad this band is getting so much attention
OMG FINALLY! I have been waiting for this video for SO LONG! THANK YOU TANK!
Yeah he used the AZ in this video.
Nowadays he uses the Ibanez THBB10 Tim Henson Signature model.
He also has an 8 string version of that which I believe is not on sale.
Love the captions of information you add, super nice touch puts you up there compared to the rest that I've seen
Thanks! Much appreciated for noticing!
Loved the reaction. Thanks for keeping it clean 👍
I was hooked on this video , as soon as I heard Animals as leaders in the background. Tosin and Tim both have made Instrumetal my go to genre.
"look but don't touch" was a single they released on April Fools, and you could give that a go. It's an... uhh... it's an experience.
I've watched many reaction videos and what makes yours really stand out is your rig rundown and extra info like age and hometown. I will be watching your other reactions because of this. 🤘
Thanks a ton!
I love how you show information about everything you talk about
The whole album is sooo good! No vocals, words would distract you from the amazing playing
they had a sick supporting band with them on a previous tour named "strawberry girls" also an instrumental all male band , just to mention it haha .
+1 to Strawberry Girls! Chon was headlining as well. That was an awesome tour.
@Mantvydas Nenartavičius yea actually never seen a faster drummer in the rock business kinda.
Thank you for having your voice the same volume as the music. Great video!
Thanks!
Damn bro, you're one of the best reaction channels that I've seen so far cause, not only you know what are you talking about with that "tank facts" also your reaction looks so authentic and not over exaggerated as other guys doing this kind of stuff (not hating on other channels their work needs to be recognized as well, but some are kind of cringey)
Keep going bruh
Much love! Thanks for the kind word!
Great energy friend!
"Yas" is probably my favorite track off their album "new levels new devils"
Other songs by them: Nasty(the one with Jason), The Worst, and Light, each from different albums, they've changed their sound from album to album very much so far
OD is my favorite song by them. A little heavier and a really trippy looking video
Liked before watching. I know this is gonna be good
... (picking up my jaw)... That was so cool I didn't even take the time to chat. "Tanks" for the Tank facts again.
Great reaction. Love the tank facts
The best bands give each instrument their spotlight
Also Wolfchant. Bavarian folk metal. Super epic.
Well done well done =) absolutely brilliant tank facts and notes once again.
Thanks Orkar! Much appreciated!
Subbed for your genuine reactions and of course for repping VGHC
🤘🤘🤘
Heard this plenty, JUST noticed that during the bass solo, the drumming fades away into the bass guitar work. Trippy bit of role-reversal!
Song ends: “It just dawned on me that there were no vocals”
Dats how you know it slams
Epica, "Sancta Terra", feat Floor Jansen. Crazy production. Please learn the setlist in 48 hours, Nightwish documentary. End of Annette, beginning of Floor. "The Islander" nightwish live at tampere
Just found this channel, rad concept. Subscribed!
Thank you!
great reaction! great band!
Great Band and enjoyed watching your reaction. Your tank facts were fun and interesting as always. See you on discord, peace out man!
OD is probably my favorite track they’ve got, it’s a fun one!
Can't wait for this one. They are musical geniuses.
My recommendations :
Fit for a king - breaking the mirror
Erra - eye of god
Wage war - who I am
I prevail - bow down
And for something completely different :
The Hu - wolf totem
Keep it up man!
Just stumbled across a Japanese metalcore band called Earthists. Check out the song Sunblood.
If you’ve not seen it I’d love to see your reaction to “the biggest shred collab song in the world III”. It’s got Tim Henson and Davie504 and many others in it.
Oh wow. I haven’t seen it!
@@TankTheTech bro, I'm still waiting for the reaction 😭
I'd love to see a reaction to Oceans of Slumber. They're a band from Houston that plays doom metal, death metal, and what I like to call "soul metal". Check out stuff from their upcoming album like "To the Sea" or "The Adorned Fathomless Creation", or older works such as "This Road" (the studio video is awesome) and "The Decay of Disregard". Love the channel, keep up the great reactions!
Everyone always recommends G.O.A.T., not that it isn't good but I've always been a lot more fond of O.D.. The pace and style is so badass, always cool seeing someone's first reaction to anything Polyphia either way. Cheers!
Last show I went to before 'Rona hit Germany was a Polyphia show in late February 2020. It was (for lack of a better word) sick.
I love how you were so immersed in the vibe of the song to not notice until the end that there were no vocals.
Besides Jason Richardson Polyphia also featured Chon guitarists (Mario Camarena and Erick Hansel), Ichika Nito, Yvette Young, Cuco, and Mateus Asato on their latest album
Damn son! Love finding new music
Thanks Tank! This is the 2nd Polyphia masterwork I've heard - so good I don't feel worthy ;) On a side note Bloodywood just dropped their Machi Bhasad Live Wacken Air 2019 - just saying - good fun!
i like how he moves his head :D
I also had someone tell me to check Polyphia out. I pretty much had the same reaction at the end where I got so lost in the skills and techniques that the song ended before I realized they didn't have any vocals.
Secretly this is Jason Lee who grew a beard and decided to do reaction videos. Love it!
Shhhhhhhh. Keep that a secret.
Actually, they are a local project here in Dallas. I believe they formed whilst all still attending Plano East High School. I know for several years they did clubs around here (I've personally seen them I think 4 times) and had to accept the ol' Xs on the hands.
They are surprisingly for Dallas Texas. Been around for 10 years now and I never heard of them until recently.
anything from Devin Townsends Retinal Circus concert. Glory would be my pick
Heh. They won't notice the animals as leaders playing in the background
Euphoria remains my favorite track from them. That hook man
I've got to recommend Sokoninaru again here. They've got some musical similarities to these guys, but are very different in their own unique ways as well. If you like this, you'll almost assuredly like Sokoninaru. "Complicated System" is probably the most similar to this song. Though, "Tenohira de Odoru", "Gou Ni Myo", and "Re:program" are probably more indicative of their overall style.
Also there’s death note featuring ichika nito which is great too!
Great video. So Strange ft. Cuco is the only song by them I know that has vocals
Nightmare is my favorite song by them. I highly recommend it.
You know what i dig?
Tank Facts
You should check out Opivm - It Was Only a Dream, dope track🔥🔥
This next level.
Unprocessed - Real ft polyphia guitarist Tim and bassist clay
Yas , OD , Look but don't touch and Nasty are all good tunes by them
I assume since AaL was the intro music that you have heard Cafo? Digging your reactions. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, I’m a big fun of Animals As Leaders. 🤘
@@TankTheTech Helix Nebula has some amazing playthroughs. I recommend Sailing Stone or Sea of Suns.
Bro, I kind of enjoy listening to your voice talking about music stuff. It feels like I want to be your friend lmao. Love this energy. Keep up great work. I may recommend you Opivm - It was Only a Dream. New stuff
Hahaha. Thanks man!
Fitting to have hoes down in the background at closing.
As always, crushed the reaction.
Yeah, I knew I was gonna use it the second I saw Jason Richardson’s name at the end. Haha. Thanks man!
Gotta love some good ol' slap bass
Very cool guys 😀
I think you would also enjoy “Goose” by Polyphia.
All of them Eminence talent and technical skill.
The 40 oz of freedom sound check is pretty dope.
Yep.....I know it's an old upload....and I love Polyphia.......but you NEED to check out Soft Revolution by Charlotte Wessells. Sorry there won't be much in the way of Tank Facts. It was pretty much put together in her apartment after Delain imploded. It does, however show what this amazing human can do.
They are from Texas I believe but they just did a collaboration with the same style kind of band from Wiesbaden Germany called unprocessed check them out
If you like that then check out their song 40oz.
You need to check out periphery.
Love the reactions bro! Keep it up!
They also did a song with bm its called brand new day you would like it
Gonna plug Thank You Scientist again. Prog rock with some brass instruments. FXMLDR is a good one off their newest album.
check out "As blood runs black", some of the finest metal ever written! any track! any of the 3 latest albums!
I would LOVE to see you react to Sokoninaru! I suggest Gou Ni Moyu, Tenohira De Odoru, and their new song Lament Moment from the upcoming album. Japanese prog rock and it’s just beautifully mind blowing.
LET'S GOOOO!
יא מלך
i love your tattoo
Glad I finally found a fun guy who reviews metal and knows his tech! Really want to go left field? Try 36 crazy fists with "turns to ashes" and older song but awesome one!
Thanks man! I love 36 Crazy Fists! Might be too familiar with them to do an authentic first time reaction though.
@@TankTheTech aaah damn too bad but I get it 😁
You should check "I built the sky - Up into the ether", and their new track is real good too. Real nice reaction, I enjoyed it, peace!
I love seeing Love for my bois.
