every time tcm plays it, i watch it.....every one in this film is a pro....you know James Garner LOVED Julie and vice versa...so NO egos there....FANTASTIC ensemble cast!!!! And Mancini adding that 'certaines chose'!!!!! Vous remercie toutes et tous!!!
saw V/V upon its original release, and have neveer forgotten how classy these opening titles are; they set the tone perfectly for what follows; it's a pity that today's movies seem to have forgotten the art of good opening credits
seems to get better and better, over the years. maybe the last really good studio-made musical? and from MGM, which is sort of ironic, at this point. they were practically moribund as a studio, and were not into making musicals, or anything much anymore. sad. but we have this one to savor, occasionally, don't we. interesting that first choice for Garner role was Tom Selleck, but too tied up with that TV Hawaiian show to do it, although he very much wanted to. pity. Garner was good, but Selleck would have been better.
I watched this for the very first time today! And I was captivated by the entire movie, particularly this intro!
Here in 2021 and Victor/Victoria is nearly 40 years old and still such a great film. They don’t make movies like this anymore.
one of the most gorgeous pieces of music ever - Henry Mancini was some kind of wizard ~
He really was a movie magician. And he must have enjoyed working with Blake Edwards.
Such an exquisitely melancholy piece of music. Mr. Mancini won a well earned Oscar for this score, perhaps his finest.
RIP Blake Edwards, Henry Mancini and Robert Preston...
Marvelous melody
I'll never know why "Crazy World" wasn't nominated for an Oscar for Best Song. It certainly deserved it
Rest in Peace Blake. You made an impact on life, and the lives of others.
an incredible Composer to say the least!!
A real feeling guy! He really gave color sounds to his movies.
love this movie and the soundtrack. Robert Preston and all of the cast were wonderful!! one of Blake Edwards best films. thanks for posting this!!!
Who can ever forget my classic performance from this fine family film.

This film deservedly won best music at the Oscars.
My mother and grandmother were and are big fans of Julie, James Garner, and Robert Preston!!
One of the best gay themed films ever made. Hard to top this.
I'd try watching THE BIRDCAGE. Starring the late great Robin Williams.
such a beautiful theme, please post the whole film! It's great.
Also co-starring leonard Patrick Hughes in this heartwarming musical.
great. thanks.
Sad music for a comedy
yes!!! i'm beggin' you!
Could someone please post the entire film!!
And the play is fantastic! Julie has a beautiful duet with Michael Nouri ( "Living in the Shadows"). Love it!
