More involved than I thought to rewind it. Very painstaking tedious work. Very nice finished armature. Nice video.

As a kid in the 50’s and early 60’s worked for an automotive rebuilder for rebuilding generators, alternators and ac motors. While our shop was air conditioned and well lit and ventilated it was a hands on type of work with few machines used in the rebuilding process. You have to give these people great applause for doing good work under the conditions they have to work. I’m sure the pay they work for is subsistence and little more. Call it what you want,I say they are really talented.

@@micahevans3443 I was about to say the same thing, in the west we are now in a throwaway economy, hardly anything is repaired these days, when I was a youngster everything was repairable, my car bumper got hit in a supermarket car park and was chipped, I could not find anywhere that was prepared to repair it, in fact most of the places I approached said it couldn't be repaired, I did it myself with a plastic welding kit from China, all in all it took me a couple of hours work and I saved over £1000, the bottom line is they can make more profit selling you a new part rather than repair it.
Just like we have recycling laws we should have repair laws, this would cut down on carbon emmisions.

I agree, I lived in India for 4 years teaching businessmen and women who already spoke English (English is the national language of India) the many different regional accents and colloquialisms of England.
You can walk down the workshop streets of any Indian town or city and each street will have small workshops like the ones we saw that specialise in all different kinds of production and repair, nothing is wasted in Asia, they even repair shoe soles and heels with old tyres.
You will even see people just sat at the side of the road engaged in their repair work, my leather sandles were in need of repair, I spotted a chap sat at the side of the road doing leather repairs, now there is the caste system in India and this chap was most likely an untouchable and despite the caste system now being illegal it still operates, that caste system dictates that I being a middle-class westerner that people frown upon me having anything to do with the lower castes, well I said sod that, here is a chap providing the service I require and so I asked him to repair my sandles, when he was done I asked him how much was the cost, now most Indians would have tried to charge me many many times the correct price, but this chap charged me just 3 rupees for 5 minutes work, I wasn't about to pay him pennies for his work, he deserved to earn a living, and I thought his honesty deserved recognition, I gave him his 3 rupees and another 100 and a pack of cigarettes, the work he did was first class and he waxed my leather after cleaning them also, we had drawn a small crowed who were amazed that a rich westerner (in their eyes) would employ an untouchable, in fact one man told me I was not to have anything to do with these people.
I corrected him and told him India would never truly advance with attitudes like this, and that I was letting him repair my sandles not marrying his daughter.

Man do I love these videos, it’s like feeding an addiction , I also enjoy doing work like this myself, there’s something so satisfying about bringing something back to its former glory by hand and having to come up with clever ways to make it happen. What I find so fascinating is the replacement parts, speciality or proprietary parts that are needed to make new again , 2 blocks away some other outfit is producing these things to sell. Love how self sustaining the country is, I guess the US was like this many years ago, all the small towns with specialized labor and production. I believe these people love their work, you can tell by the level of skill and pride. Someone will always point out the conditions in which they work or how it’s slave labor, I don’t think that’s the case I think these people are just too used to the luxuries and entitlement they’ve gotten used to
