The Improved Mud Box Pro from Tapepro

- Tapepro Mud Boxes are designed to simultaneously apply paper tape and joint compound to flat and internal angle joints.
Recently Tapepro have made some improvements to this industry favourite.
Check out what's changed:
• Side Plates are now made from injection moulded polycarbonate which is UV Stabilised and carry the “Mud Box” name branded into them
• Top/Back plate assembly (previously two separate parts) is super strong and also made from UV Stabilised injection moulded polycarbonate
• The addition of black cable sleeves to protect and increase the lifespan of the control cables
• Added bracing between the side plates for improved rigidity and overall strength
• The re-designed lid fits closer to the body of the box reducing leakage of "wetter" compound
• Tool weight has reduced by 500 grams

Just got one of these today , theres some learning curve to it but i did tape flat joints much faster , i still cant do corners properly yet but ill get the hang of it with time and use . 10/10 so far ( btw I work doing taping for 20+ years doibg house and high rises and this tool will help you if you do a lot of work weekly)

I had a mate who had one 20 years ago and he loved it, then he teamed up with a guy who had a Bazooka now my mate has a Bazooka too. Me I still have my Banjo and I'm quite happy.

I have one of these and wish I had the old original one instead.
I also purchased one and have returned it as it has broken the perspex sides near the head. it broke 2 times before demanding a refund . the perspex is not as durable as the old ones
I gave up on banjos a long time ago. This has my interest.
The Mud Box is a little different to traditional Banjo's. Both our Mud Boxes, the Mud Box Original and the Mud Box Pro have cutters making the taping process quicker and easier. Thanks for your comment!

Fir someone who does a lil bit of taping I can see using this but for drywall taper who tapes everyday bazooka and auto tools are so much faster,
Its look like it will have a perfect cut every time I'm still struggling with the bazooka on the cut being short in the upper angles my boss just got me the mud box. I'll guess I'll see which one faster next week.

Looks way better than a banjo is and less complicated than a bazooka. Will it work with fiba fuse tape? Is it available for purchase in U.S.?

Ok I used mine for the first time works great on walls having issues taping cielings papper rips so my question is was running it too thin of mud I tried mixing the mud like I would for a banjo so should I thin it down more like I was mixing up for a bazooka please let me know before I return it for a bazooka

Having the same issue. With the same consistence of mud, the walls go smoothly, but tape rips or drags really bad when doing ceiling flats and angles. If I thin the mud down, then it's more likely to leak from the Mud Box when doing ceilings.

Having trouble getting it started on ceiling it rips the tape is my mud to thick

What is the difference between Mud box & Mud Box Pro? Thanks.
The original Mud Box has a spring loaded combined creaser wheel and cutter. This is held back when taping and released for cutting.
You need to remove the tape wheel from the wall to allow the cutter to rotate into the right position for cutting.
The control handle is on top of the tool and positioned about mid way.
The Mud Box Pro Has a separate creaser wheel and cutter and rear controls for both.
It is also slightly longer so can have more reach depending on how it is used. check out these great videos to see the difference

Keep the handle low to start with so the tape wheel can make good contact with the wall.

Hi Tim, you have to make sure the tape wheel is contacting the wall. Mix your compound so that you can pull the tape through by hand - if it is too thick to pull by hand it will be too thick to work in the machine. You have to press the serrated tape wheel into the wallboard, pinching the paper tape.
Tim Hennigan I saw the guy in the video hold the tape down with his foot, when he did inside corner.

@@marcmilan2086 oui je l'ai j'ai essayé le banjo simple mais mon poignée a douillet lol oui j'ai le super banjo il et top tu ke recherche en 10 seconde pour tout se qui et mur c'est le top, mais pour les angles plafond la bande tire et y manque toujours un morceau sa casse la tête niveau des plafond faut prendre le coup, j'ai l'impression que la mud box ancienne version et plus simple d'utilisation pour les plafond la roulette se place automatiquement

for the price of this thing... i recommend paying 200.00 more for a bazooka. applies more mud, faster, and you can reach higher.
for the people that don't want to tape in with all purpose, this Mud Box is for you

Just bought one. And let me tell you, this thing has lots of problems. Cables jam easily. Cuts are hard to make. Go for a bazooka
