Pure joy: rescued cows enjoy spring pastures after winter in the barn 💚🐄

A very exciting day in the Goodheart calendar as our cows can finally go out into the fields after a winter in the barn - and just look how happy they are! ✨
Typically, they would have gone out earlier, but persistent bad weather has kept the ground too wet until now. Our sanctuary sits on heavy clay soil, so it's vital to let it rest over winter to ensure lush grazing for our cows during spring and summer.
During the winter months, our cows have been cosied up in the barn, enjoying their favourite treat - hay! 🌾 However, this winter's been particularly rainy, keeping them indoors for longer. As a result, we've had to spend more on straw and hay than ever before. If you'd like to help us cover some of these extra costs, please click the link below!
