I remember sleeping on the couch and raising wyvern babies waking up at 2:00 a.m. 5 a.m. 7 a.m. to get milk
We need to have a lesson about what the word "overpowered" means.
Anything that makes wyvern milk last longer than preserving ben/salt is OP actually.

TLDR: the barrel has the same time as a refrigerator when it is sealed and the same spoil duration as the player when unsealed (100x vs 1x).
When testing on singleplayer with a full stack of cooked prime in a barrel vs a trough, preserving bin and refrigerator; I used the slomo command to fast forward 3 hours (the benchmark was spoilage time of the trough) and by the time that the trough had spoiled (1) prime, I took the prime out of the fridge and then the barrel and they were both just about the exact same 100x spoilage multiplier effectively.
So barrels have half as many slots, can be used underwater and their only issues are needing to be unsealed to access the inventory & a five minute reseal cooldown which you should mitigate by having a second barrel ready.

So use 2 barrels kill a alpha fill it then whenever you need to use it unseal then swap to the other and seal it without a cooldown

Maybe store them on a platform saddle filled with raw prime to use on taming. Easier than running to find it in the middle of a tame.
My experience is- that this only works so long as there is salt in it, and the salt seems to decay at teh same duration as it does in a preserving bin
thanks for the vid teach, this vid genuinely did help me with keeping my wyvern milk unspoiled so i was able to raise a bunch of baby wyverns. Appreciate the time you put into these!

If u wann see how long it last look in it get a friend to seal it then go into video mod an play your last couole of minutes of play and pause it where your friend seals it

Warning: the storage barrel counts as a thatch structure, even though it requires metal to craft. It can be damaged by punching it. This makes it a risk when playing on official.
Can you preserve leech blood and amonite bile?
I had 3 barrels just dissapear and i lost all my armor, weapons and saddles that took me forever to collect. Only thing in bobs tall tales that works is the train.
Instead of fixing the game they keep releasing crap that noone asked for.

The snail triples spoil time for organic polymer in it's inventory. Instead of 30 min you get 1 hr and 30 min.

Hoping this isnt some sort of bug and it's actually unintentional. Cause they would fix it immediately. Anything that overly helps the player tends to get nerfed immediately.

@@sly2792004 the other DLCs were, too, if you think about it. and yes, even if you consider the option to 'buy' stuff from other players, like new dinos from new maps, they would still have the 'advantage' of having a market to participate in to get ahead of others. people are just bitching and moaning now because access is denied and not granted by detour
also, yes. amen to that. those things, and absolutely insignificant bullshit like being able to make your character name longer than you should, or the wrong lootcrate color in a boss arena where it has *ZERO IMPACT*

@@stephscreampreserving bin actually do work with milk. It takes the spoil timer from 20min to a few hours. Maybe you forgot to fuel the bin with sparkpowder.

@@lobita7379 i didnt pay too much attention to how much time has passed, but i think it took off 4 minutes in like... 2h, or something? it is between x20 and x30 i suppose, something around that
might have been more than 2h tho, but not notably less
