CZeroMedia well it's obvious this guy does this work for a living or something on the side. it's not like he is an average Joe as much owners are. it's not like he doesn't have a skill or someone regular everyday office Jockey. if I knew a thing or two on building, I definitely do this but I will at least mention my background.
i work for the company were you got most of the materials and i didn't like the pavers that you used for the floor, but after i saw the end of your proyect, you convince me of that was the right decision, that's was great.. GOOD JOB...
Nice job I would like to commend you on your backfill, easy to screw up, future problems, but you guys did a great job, you definitely understand on how much water to use on the base, just like Goldilocks just right is correct.
Wow. This was amazing! Especially to stick to it during all those nights and weekends by yourself. To do some of it, take it down , then redo it again. I know how easy it is to give up as life distractions happen. But you successfully accomplished it
Not really. It can be intimidating but if you can just get started and plan ahead with everything anybody can do this project. Write down everything on a notepad, separate the project phases into different blocks and jot down what materials and tools you need for that phase. Just a little bit planning will help a lot with your paver patio or pergola project. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
This is the best patio DIY project I ever saw, great job!!! I watched almost 10 times to get all the details , can you please publish detail level so that I can start this project :). thanks for sharing!!!
To her credit, she did a LOT of heavy lifting behind the camera. Pretty much carried all the pavers, 2B stone and blocks from our driveway to backyard. Unfortunately the camera didn’t capture any of that! 🙃
Wow! Fantastic! This is EXACTLY what I want in my backyard. You did an amazing job! I can't believe this was your first outdoor project. You're a natural. I've read through all the comments and didn't see cost posted. Please let us know what this magnificent project cost you. I have to sell my husband on the idea and cost will be a huge selling point. Thanks so much for posting this vid.
Thank you! Sorry about the late response. I have been very busy lately with work and other projects. As per the plans and expenses, I am in the process of creating a detailed document or a small book that includes every little detail from this project so that it can help other DIY people to plan and tackle their paver patio, fire pit or pergola projects. Should be out soon!
OMG this is so amazing but isn't very DIY, at least in my world LOL. There are a lot of steps to making this look good! Thank you for sharing and letting me get a vision of what this project entails. :-)
Thanks! I will take that as a compliment. :) I have a day job as a software engineer. This was really a DIY project. I had *ZERO* experience building patio or handling pavers, sitting walls, firepit or pergola. This is my first outdoor project. It is not that bad if you have everything planned ahead. Just put everything on paper - plans, materials needed, schedule etc. UA-cam and Google are your best resources. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
Excellent Work!!! Inspiring! You did such a great job for a DIYer. I do wish you'd reveal the cost tho. I've a big yard as you and have been contemplating doing something like this myself. Also, how 334 people could dislike this video just shows how 334 people have zero life or appreciation for hard work!!! And if they're so called, Pros, even worse... Congrats once again
Great share, I built a patio like this as well a while back and can appreciate the absurd amount of time that goes into this type of project. Nice work!
Did you make an msproject or jira for the planning? How long did it take? How far were your estimates for both duration and effort from actuals? Thanks for doing this video.
great job and good music. the only thing i would have did different would have been to move the firepit under the pergola to double as a table while you sit on the furniture
Thank you! Like I said in other comments, if we put everything on paper (plans, materials, timeline etc.) you should be able to tackle any paver patio or pergola project with ease. I had no experience prior to this project. Google and UA-cam helped me!
Love this! How long did it take to complete the project and what was the estimated cost? Did you run into any obstacles and how did you overcome them and stay the course to completion? You did an excellent job!
Really good job guys, just one criticism, I would have wrapped around those pergola posts to neaten it up a bit, I just think that you did all that hard work making it look great and at the final furlong you just thought, that'll do. But again great Job, please don't take my personal opinion to heart it's nice to see some nice strong base going in as well.
Excellent attention to detail, and I'm sure tons of research too. With the amount of DIY going on here, I'm surprised you bought a pergola kit instead of making it yourself. The result looks great. The only thing I would change is beefier anchors for the posts, such as a bolted to a post hole filled with concrete. Spikes just seem... meh. Oh, and can you link me to your fire pit? I've never seen a glass cover like that; I like it.
Thank you! Yes - went with the pergola kit because it came with its own roof cover, kept expenses low. Personally, I like pergolas made out of lumber. It adds more character to the pergola and the patio. Here's the link to the fire pit glass cover: amzn.to/2wlWLuk
Not bad! I worked with my dad over summer doing these types of jobs, I bet bringing in the crush was a pain by wheel barrel lol. Only thing I noticed is that when you lay brick you want to level the entire area. Makes it ease diet than by sections. Then do a outside frame with the bricks, work your way from one side. And try to leave minimal pieces with cuts (looks nicer), and try to put those cut pieces towards the siding of the house so they are not noticeable. Just a future tip, again nice job, it's really not that bad as people think, but it can be a good amount of work if you rush it and make mistakes.
- Cleared about 12" - 16" of the area right outside the boundary of the entire patio - Added heavy duty multi-layer landscape fabric to suppress any kind of grass growth - Used metal landscaping edging to act as a "wall" for the stone - Used metal spikes to harness the edging into the ground tying in with the landscape fabric - Add the 2B/3B river stone and maintain it regularly - Please be careful when you are mowing or using string trimmer around this area
At 2:04 in your prepping for the 4x4 that your going to put up. Why didn't you dig 2 feet in and pour cement? Or is that bracket your using help prevent you from doing unnecessary labor?
hello and thank you for posting! your work is inspiring and brilliant. i'm prepping to 'permeable pave' my lot and my first task is to remove an attached deck. this means temporary steps. you mention dry stacking before permanent adhesive (not new, but excellent advice on its own). is this what you did for the steps - no concrete foundation? no code/inspection for below 30in here, so i'm looking for inexpensive but attractive alternatives to wood. thank you. namaste.
Thank you! :) Yes - I did dry stack the pergola sitting walls before using construction adhesive. As per code in our area, I couldn't stack stones for steps. So, instead I used 2A/2B mix gravel and compacted it manually. This extends from the sub base all the way to the top of the steps. I kind of used stone blocks as retainers for compacted gravel. It worked out perfectly as it gave me more control over risers and treads. As per code, we need to have overhang for treads. So I used stone caps. A lot of stone cutting involved. Overall, it turned out great and got approved by code inspector. Hope this helps!
Oh my goodness this DIY is AMAZING. I'm hopefully going to be handed down a house and I want to build a patio with pavers in the front and one of those gazebo shade things in the back :) awesome video it came out really good looks professional.
Great job, Sir. For my first project, I am doing something very similar to my backyard and this video has helped tremendously. I do like the stone toppers you used for the walls. where did you get those and what are the dimensions?
Hi Santosh, Really nice job! We are planning to make a patio in our new home, so have a question on how long did it take for you to do this entire project. Also will you be able to share where did you buy your pergola kit from.Thank you.
Very nice project sir 👍 Since you haven’t used concrete anywhere, please share us the review after 4 years and any more advise on the details. Also share us the links of various stones used like for seating wall, seating, floor and the border, fire pit ,leveling sand , gravel, stone filling …..etc …also all are from Lowe’s? One last question, you considered pavers over concrete only for diy project?
We are considering solid covered patio for outdoor kitchen for 365 days use, struggling between concrete and pavors , which one you suggest, concrete will definitely give cracks, how about pavours?
Thank you! We went with pavers because we like the look of it and it’s ease of installation. Some of the pavers are from Lowe’s and some of them are from local paver company. HTH!
Both have pros and cons. If you are going with concrete, make sure to place control joints which are sort of planned cracks for when the concrete settles.
Super impressive! It really came out great! Congrats and thanks for sharing.
Now I have to make sure my wife never sees it...
Bob M hahahahahah
lmao nice
I gasped (literally) when you took down the wall to install the pergola. Nice work, it looks great
Outstanding. That patio is not gonna move . So much effort put into the under patio layers you could park a tank on it. Top effort.
Very impressive, but man that lawn is in magnificent shape 👍👌
THAT IS FANTASTIC. I AM INSPIRED AND SLIGHTLY INTIMIDATED!!!! WE ARE BUILDING A DECK AND PERGOLA, SO WISH US LUCK. IT LOOKS LIKE A PIECE OF PARADISE!
Good luck! Keep us posted about your project. :)
This is high quality stuff. That base is solid as can be. Only thing I don’t like is the cap stones on the wall.
WOW you guys really work FAST! I hope you charge by the Job and no the hour. Looks AWESOME!
Watching from India, what a house & of course what a Patio sir.👏👏
Thank you! :)
My husband and I have completed many DIY projects, but we would never be able to do this. This is Beautiful and Beautifully done. Much Respect!
I'm not even sure why I'm watching this but what a rollercoaster ride.
Very nicely done. It's refreshing to see someone who knows how to properly install a patio using industry specs.
you attention to detail and level of dedication is simply amazing. great job.
Thank you! :)
Santosh Kandregula I'm

Wow. This was amazing! Especially to stick to it during all those nights and weekends by yourself. To do some of it, take it down , then redo it again. I know how easy it is to give up as life distractions happen. But you successfully accomplished it

after watching this, I concluded that I will never be able to dyi anything. this is professional level stuff!
Not really. It can be intimidating but if you can just get started and plan ahead with everything anybody can do this project. 2 years ago... and it shows up on my recommended.
I will attempt the same once I take out my deck and above ground pool from prior owner
Great build - looks like a place a family can sit and enjoy!
Very impressive, I am trying to do the same, a little over the whole summer.
Wife did good job supervising 😁☺
To her credit, she did a LOT of heavy lifting behind the camera. Pretty much carried all the pavers, 2B stone and blocks from our driveway to backyard. Unfortunately the camera didn’t capture any of that! 🙃
This is close to exactly what I want! If you don't mind me asking, about how much did this project cost? You did an amazing job! It's beautiful! 👍😍💪🏽

Nicely done and good techniques but jesus all them straight lines and right angles!
This must be a DIY for a general contractor. Because, I certainly wouldn't be able to build this.
Thanks! I will take that as a compliment. :) I have a day job as a software engineer. This was really a DIY project. I had *ZERO* experience building patio or handling pavers, sitting walls, firepit or pergola.

Right!
Very Nice work. You should be proud
Thank you! :)
Dam that was a lot of work.. but it looks really good. Well done.
Beautiful! That's not for the novice DIYer.
This is so beautiful!!!! I was looking for ideas for a paver patio. This is it!!!! I love it!!! Thank you for sharing. You are a natural 🙂
I like how you snuck the bunny clip in at 4 seconds in. Won't lie...I kept going back and freezing it to see what it was.
:)
Excellent job. Extensive work on the foundation was done. Wow
Excellent Work!!! Inspiring! You did such a great job for a DIYer. I do wish you'd reveal the cost tho. I've a big yard as you and have been contemplating doing something like this myself. Well planned, well executed with great patience and hard work!
Oh my gosh....GREAT video! The speed was awesome! Thank you.
I love it. Makes me want to dew my backyard now. Thank you.
Very beautiful job and awesome addition to your home.
Amazing! You're awesome!! Looks brilliant!
Thank you! :)
This is crazy cool! Wish I had a personal home just so I could do this!
Nice. Looks exactly like our backyard. Given me ideas.
Great! What are you planning to build?
What a proud worthy result! Looks fantastic!
Thank you! :)
Nice job. Very impressive!!
Turned out great. I should of posted a video of the prep and install. Prob might post one of the finish product. 👍
Did you make an msproject or jira for the planning? How long did it take? How far were your estimates for both duration and effort from actuals? Thanks for doing this video.
great job and good music. the only thing i would have did different would have been to move the firepit under the pergola to double as a table while you sit on the furniture
Great job! how much did you spent?
I give you 100 stars...well done
Great Job and beautiful!
Turned out real nice

Awesome job. Tons of work
Brilliant workmanship skills
Very nice job! how many inches of gravel base did you put ?
Love the patio design! Can you share the steps for creating the river stone edge.
- Cleared about 12" - 16" of the area right outside the boundary of the entire patio
- Added heavy duty multi-layer landscape fabric to suppress any kind of grass growth
- Used metal landscaping edging to act as a "wall" for the stone
- Used metal spikes to harness the edging into the ground tying in with the landscape fabric
- Add the 2B/3B river stone and maintain it regularly
- Please be careful when you are mowing or using string trimmer around this area
What are those anchors for the pergola? Are they still holding up? Any winds in that area? Everything that I'm reading says concrete footers.
At 2:04 in your prepping for the 4x4 that your going to put up. Why didn't you dig 2 feet in and pour cement? Or is that bracket your using help prevent you from doing unnecessary labor?
That's one helluva foundation man!
Thanks!
Beautiful work! You'll get many years of enjoyment out of such a fine job.
Beautiful! Professionally done
Nice looking awesome.. question for pergola posts, did you bolt them on pavers ?
Thank you! No, they are bolted to 4x4 posts that are again bolted to 4ft deep metal anchors.
Nice! Plans you're willing to share? Planning to build something very similar in size. No gasline though.
Wow that's a lot of work!! Nice job!
Wow that looked like a lot of work
Contratados para mi patio jenial me encantó su trabajo

Awesome work... 412 people are really jealous.... Makes this video even better.... 😀

Very well done!!
Good job Came out very nice. Time for BBQ & some cold beverages 👍🏽
this is great, I've got to try this some time once summer comes back up.
chance yoo do it during spring, more time to enjoy it during summer
Hi Santosh, Really nice job! We are planning to make a patio in our new home, so have a question on how long did it take for you to do this entire project. Also will you be able to share where did you buy your pergola kit from.Thank you.
You are doing great great work
You did an awesome job
Nicely done!
Much more than a "DIY" job ....excellent 👏
Wow looks amazing. I wish I had enough vision and resource to do this . Gotta have the webber to make it all come together
Wonderful job!
Nice, good job
Absolutely beautiful.
BEAUTIFUL! GREAT JOB!!!

Great job 😎👌
Wonderful work!
Very impressive work!
I need this in my life
Where did you buy pergola like that? Or just that mat that has as a roof , i cannot find it anywhere, i really like your video
Nice, VERY NICE ! Good job
