"All We Imagine As Light" and "Flow" are two films I want to see now when they come over here. Thank you Nick and Joseph per usual for all your reviews. You guys are always a highlight in my day.
I wish Nick would do a solo episodes after he gets back from the festivals and just GO In a deep dive into all his thoughts and opinions! 😀 Patreon maybe? I'd pay! ❤️
The Girl and the Needle sounds like a true story I heard about not long about on a podcast about serial killers. OH! I just looked it up and it is based on a true story, but I think the true case I'm referring to is a different one.
No T, No Shade (to you, Nick 😍), but it would have been kind of fun to see Joseph's reaction to Nick's reviews vs. the 1/2 screen movie poster. 🤷🏾 Lol. He always adds salt and seasoning *even when it's through non-verbal means!!😉 😮🎉
I'm extremely excited for Anora, Kinds of Kindness, Emilia Perez and The Substance. Nick talking about how mediocre Megalopolis is has me laughing because that film looks like a bad fever dream. 😂
18:09 I think I'm most excited for this, I'm a big fan of trash cinema and movies about aging starlets who do anything to stay young and relevant. I'm ready for my closeup!
Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere, but where can we read Nick’s reviews? Do you attend film festivals/write reviews for other outlets? Or just for fish jelly? thanks!
Have you guys seen the 1961 movie Barabbas with Anthony Quinn? Old period movie which seems biased but has some surprising nuance which I’d love to hear you guys discuss
Nathalie Emmanuel is a poor actress. She's fine in Fast and Furious type stuff but anything dramatic, forget it. Such a bizarre casting choice from Coppola.
This is the Cannes Coverage that I NEEDED! I Cannot wait for Anora... Sean Baker is one of the best American filmmakers working today and I'm so happy he's being paid his dues. Also, really hoping that The Substance gets a theatrical release... I want to see it in a packed, buzzy theater.
Thanks for the review, sounds like Sean Baker’s Anora and Emilia Perez are a few of the must see films coming out of Cannes I feel like studios and theaters need to select a few of the films from the first three big festivals and show them in theaters now, just to do something different
Saw you at the "Fay" screening. "Only" saw 40 films myself... Really liked "Anora", "The Substance", "Emilia Perez" and "Kinds of kindness". Thought "Rumours", "The Surfer", "Christmas eve at Miller Point" and "Misericordia" had good moments. The 4K remastering of "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" was brilliant. 💋
There are some good picks in here. Thank you, Nick. I wish TCM would give you a job. You're so eloquent with your knowledge and words. Edit: are you guys excited for Longlegs? And also did you see that David Lynch announced a new project dated for June 5th?
The movie where the animals don't speak, is better than a bunch of movies, with good soundtrack, but no story...Joseph must be used to such 'patience' in Nick sieving these contents!
Merci 🌿 Looking forward to watching The Substance from Coralie Fargeat, the new Carax movie, but also Megalopolis to see for myself what it's all about 😉 and the Palme d' Or of course 🙏🏼
What about Jeremy Strong in The Apprentice? He's got just as much praise as Stan or even more,, some reviews singled him out. Seeing how the Best Acor award is not a 'lead actor award', and that they can and have given to more than one actor from the dame film? do you think they should've given to both of them, or do you think Stan was better?
Nick could make an 8hr video just discussing films he’s watched and his input on anything related to it. He’s just so intelligent and unbiased.
I know!!! I wish he would do a solo episode after he gets back from the festivals and just GO In a deep dive into all his thoughts and opinions! 😀
Joseph, they want Nick to go solo.
💯😍🎉
@@js7dragon😳LOL!!
Totally ❤
Joseph and his editing choices always crack me up. He doesn’t give himself enough credit 😂❤️
Nick's film knowledge is remarkable
Hell yea! ❤
"All We Imagine As Light" and "Flow" are two films I want to see now when they come over here. Thank you Nick and Joseph per usual for all your reviews. You guys are always a highlight in my day.
You could tell Nick is passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to film reviews ❤️
Ooh buckling in for this.🍿
😅❤
So excited for Anora! Sean baker never lets me down
I wouldn’t be mad at a Demi Moore resurgence
I wish Nick would do a solo episodes after he gets back from the festivals and just GO In a deep dive into all his thoughts and opinions! 😀 Patreon maybe? I'd pay! ❤️
I love your metaphor or allusion to Showgirls. Hated, loved it and always wondered why I loved Gershon in it. Your reason is It! 😊 🙏 😊
Happy for Sean Baker. Best American filmmaker on the scene.
Hope you guys see my film one day at Cannes 😊
Nick needs his own show to sperg out he's so great
We need a Cane's Chicken Film Festival recap next pls
Love your channel! Btw Rumours a la Lohan was released in Fall 2004. Close enough 😂
I'm excited to see a lot of these omgg tysm for this
The main character in On Becoming A Guinea Fowl look slike she is wearing the same look as Missy Elliot from a music video from the 90’s
I went and looked thanks for this ❤❤❤❤
We need a full review of Megalopolis so that I can know if I still wanna watch it
Love the Art for The Girl With The Needle ❤❤
Amazing recap! Thank you! 💜
Thank you!
Nick is the best film critic in the world
❤
I think all we imagine as light and seed of a sacred fig deserve Oscar love
I want to see this whole top 10!!! You sold me on all of them Nick 🤩
Poor Joseph getting repeatedly, completely obscured by film posters, only to look absolutely unimpressed when they fade away!
Yay! Love these! ❤❤❤❤❤and love y’all 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
The girl an the needle picked my interest, thanks for the mini review

😂 not Lindsey😭

Yes I agree ❤but I do get why they have the movie poster there
@wanyatelborn I kept waiting for the poster to shrink, and move down to the corner of the screen... 🤦🏾
I'm extremely excited for Anora, Kinds of Kindness, Emilia Perez and The Substance.
Nick talking about how mediocre Megalopolis is has me laughing because that film looks like a bad fever dream. 😂
The way I am dying to know why the lead of Guinea Fowl is dressed like Missy Elliott in her video for "The Rain" 🤔
18:09 I think I'm most excited for this, I'm a big fan of trash cinema and movies about aging starlets who do anything to stay young and relevant. I'm ready for my closeup!
I’m here for the Missy Elliott cosplay
Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere, but where can we read Nick’s reviews? Do you attend film festivals/write reviews for other outlets? Or just for fish jelly? thanks!

I'm curious about anora from what i saw, this movie will not be a happy fairytale with a happy ending, right?
Joseph seemed a bit bored by this lol
Have you guys seen the 1961 movie Barabbas with Anthony Quinn? Old period movie which seems biased but has some surprising nuance which I’d love to hear you guys discuss
omgg the spoiler for Megalopolis 💀
Did Megalopolis just get spoiled. Lmao
I wonder what Nick thought of "Bird" by Andrea Arnold?
www.ioncinema.com/reviews/andrea-arnold-bird-movie-review
I must see Emilia Perez
Is the video spoiler free?
Nathalie Emmanuel is a poor actress. She's fine in Fast and Furious type stuff but anything dramatic, forget it. Such a bizarre casting choice from Coppola.
60 movies in one festival. Wow. I probably watch about that many in an entire year.
Nick is a professional film critic ❤❤❤❤❤
I think he said he consumes about 1,000 a year 😊
@@wanya_telborngod damn!! I’m only at 108 I feel so unaccomplished 😂
Poor Joseph getting covered up by the film posters throughout the beginning 😂

I agree! Looking forward to Anora as well as The Substance. As far as I know, The Substance will be in theaters on September 20th, 2024 😎
My favourite reviewers ! Flow looks interesting and look out for that one thank you
Id be interested in hearing Nick and YMS talk about movies it would be very fascinating.
Oh definitely!
I’d rather watch a re:View with Jay Bauman from RLM and Nick
Glad Joseph asked about the "Special Jury Prize"- apparently it's not as special as first, second or third place.
Thanks for the review, sounds like Sean Baker’s Anora and Emilia Perez are a few of the must see films coming out of Cannes

So excited for Anora!! Just watched Tangerine for the first time last night, was amazed
I love Sean Baker films!

The Emilia Perez poster is amazing, the illustration an tipography is on point, good job to the designers

Edit: are you guys excited for Longlegs? And also did you see that David Lynch announced a new project dated for June 5th?
Yes, we're excited about Longlegs. Nick did not know about the David Lynch project.
The movie where the animals don't speak, is better than a bunch of movies, with good soundtrack, but no story...Joseph must be used to such 'patience' in Nick sieving these contents!
Merci 🌿

Nick I think you’re smart 😂 we may can not be friends 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Congratulations for being able to attend the festival, a dream for many of us

I hope they review Killer klowns from outer space someday 🙏🏻😊
Very cool
Off topic: Seriously, how does Nick recover so quickly after getting back!?? Cannes only ended THREE days ago!! 😮🥱😴🎬
He’s high on life.
