I went through this comparison some years ago. I ended up choosing the Smith because of how it fit my hand. Nothing against the Glock, I just do not like how it feels in my hand. In 4 years I have not had a malfunction with my 9c
I like the way the smith felt in my grip over the glock . I bought a Glock , went out and shot it and then gave it to my best friend. It did not fit my hands. My friend has a collection of glocks and added it to his collection and it is his EDC six months a year.
Handled and shot both. Carried the 9c for two years but it always felt slightly top heavy to me. The 26 is chunky but I shoot it better. Both are great choices.
Hard to argue with parts, customization, scalability, and reliability. Like them both but I have enough parts to rebuild a 26 and my Extar takes Glock mags.
One thing I never see in the videos is the slide release methods. Currently looking for 2 conceal carry’s for my wife and I. She has no experience and a light grip. A one finger slide release system would be best but so far haven’t found one like that. Kind of frustrating that issue is never shown in videos. I have a Sig p365xl and it’s rather difficult to push the button and pull on the slide to chamber a round. I’ll find what I want eventually but I wanted to express my interest in that one detail of gun reviews. Maybe no one makes a gun with a one finger release anymore.
I own both of these guns and I love them both. I have been a Glock guy for years and that won't ever change but I will say that there is one gun I can shoot as well as a any Glock and that would be the S&W 9c. I use both G26 and 9c as EDC and trust them both.
Aside from the excellent, detailed review (I'd go with the G26. Have one on order to compiment my G19), you have a very nice speaking voice. It's a pleasure listening to you.
Great video! Very informative of both handguns. Excellent footage. Centerfire is a solid shooting range. They have a reasonable selection of products, gear and firearms available as well. My favorite range in the area, but haven't been in months😣 I hardly ever find anyone from KS on here...maybe I'll see ya at the range one day! Keep in touch- Happy Holidays! Jeremy
Hi neighbor! Thanks for the great comments. Yes, I am sure I spend way too much time at the range! I'm sure we will run into each other at some point. Happy holidays!
The Glock sights are good at first but after a while they begin to deform specially the front sight due to drawing from a holster. Non issue easy to replace.
When it comes to quick target acquisition, the stock Glock sights fit me just right. That "field post" rear sight allows me to have a super easy time sighting in on a target. I know many choose some "billy badass" type aftermarket sights so they feel cooler, or just to have a more tactical (night) sights, but with training and an open mind to the stock style rear sight (field goal!) it really isn't a bad sight. Also, you forgot to mention that M&P's have a take down tool built into the bottom of the grip/frame. I'm very positive you knew of this, but you didn't use or mention it in the process of breaking down the M&P9c. I'm also very sure that most already are aware of such an added feature, but you never know who's watching and actually trying to learn. The main reason Smith & Wesson added that was for a safety feature used in America's "point system" for ruling how guns are governed and what states, under their respective laws, will allow import/usage. It also addressed some of those who were too fearful of their own competence in clearing and cleaning their own weapon, silly I know, but it is what it is, sigh. Simply put, most should just learn how to effectively clear a weapon correctly and not be afraid to depress a trigger (in a safe direction of course) in a breakdown situation for cleaning/maintenance. Now I know I'm a Glock fanboy as well, very much so, but I would never put a Glock over a M&P. I have mad respect for M&P's as well. How else could I justify owning more M&P's than Glocks over the course of my life? haha I someday want a M&P 9c so that I can alternate between the two from day to day carry. Awesome, awesome video full of information and a GREAT comparison between two wonderful carry options.
+D Blair thanks for the great insights and feedback D! I agree, they are both great guns indeed. Glad the early vids still get some attention! Cheers brother
Most people choose aftermarket sights simply because they aren’t made of plastic. I hope you aren’t relying on plastic sights on a defensive gun. I personally find Glocks overrated and overpriced and it’s laughable that they continue to come with plastic sights
@@strat1080 i know this is an older comment now but I really do like the “field goal” rear sight with the front dot. I’ve had many guns with three dot and three dot night sights and I seem to aim quicker and more easily with that large white U in the rear. That’s just me tho. I know most hate the Glock factory sight, and I agree it would be dope they were steel, but I’m not complaining. My old G26 had over 10,000 rounds through it with all factory parts and it had TONS of life still in it before needing any parts to be swapped for new ones.
The glock does not have a below the barrel rail. The glock is more narrow at the back of the pistol butt making its recoil felt more aggressive. The Smith and Wesson wins out in my book. 😮
Really nice videos... subbed!!! :-) I really want a glock 26 because it is a truly "on me all the time" gun... I am a little worry about handling it in a potencially stressfull situation.... whats your take on that?
kauxkaux it's a great gun, especially if you like glock 19s. That said, there's not a whole lot to grab on to so it will take some serious training. You may also want to consider what holster you go with so you can get plenty of grip on it when you draw. Thanks for the comment and the sub! Cheers
I have a g26 a g19 and two different 1911’s. I’m most accurate with my amazing little g26! It’s an amazing handgun. Amazingly accurate. It took me a lot of training and over 5000 rounds of practice but I’m very proficient with it now. If u train a lot u can get really sharp with one of these little bastards. It’s really my go-to
Agreed. Glock 26 over the 9c. Trigger is better. Smaller in size for better CC. Easy to work on and maintain. Mag compatibility is excellent. Plus, I get Blue Label discount.
Dated infornation and both your triggers had some modifacation, stop saying they're stock. Enter the improved Glock 26 Gen5. Very different to yours. PS, you don't need to change the Glock sights. You hit the target competently. Plastic doesn't rust and aim doesn't know the difference between plastic and metal .
All right I'm a little confused you're calling the sea a Sub Compact M&P but I believe better the middle of the road there is an actual subcompact and most importantly your demonstration of the two guns when I'm looking at on my phone very hard to see both cuz you have on a black mat which they all blend in so it's very hard to see when you're showing the size and other words so you need a different background you can't have black on black is what I'm trying to say I mean verbally you did great presentation as far as the black-on-black didn't work
i like the smith more just big a nuf to get 3 finger grip and 2 more rounds read reciew said it was very hard to rack slide on glock if it mag is full. nice vid
What is the height of the Glock 26 when using the 12 round magazine? Or, put another way, how much taller is the Glock 26's 12 round magazine than its 10 round magazine?
If you are asking someone to tell ypu what gun to purchase to protect you and your family you are not ready to be a gun owner. Do your own research and shoot both
M&p is a smarter choice !!! Way more BANG FOR THE BUCK !!! Glocks grips suck the sights are cheap plastic !!! And pay attention the rear sight on the M&p are a the end of the rail !!! Glocks inset their sights more forward Easier with the M&p to get back on target !!!! And the gun is way cheaper in price not quality !!!
It’s not really in between the G19 and G26. Its much closer in size to the G26. When you put them together it was pretty clear that there was a much bigger difference in size between the G19 and 9c than there was between the G26 and 9c. I much prefer the ergos on the 9c and the fact that it has a light rail. I really feel that the 9c and 40c are about as close to the perfect all around size. You have a 5.75” sight radius which allows you to shoot about as accurately as a duty size gun yet it is still very concealable. I had a G23 for years but found myself frequently leaving it at home because it was too difficult to conceal with a lot of the clothes I wear
i SHOOT 4 DIFFERENT GLOCKS, I WOULD THINK THE SMITH WOULD BE A BETTER PISTOL FOR BEGINNER CARRY. BC OF THE DECOCKER!! SAFER!! i LIKE MY 5906 S&W FOR TARGET BUT TOO HEAVY TO CARRY. (STAINLESS)
@Troy As much as i love my 26, i agree with you.The 9c is my favorite to carry.Although if you add a pinkie extension on the 26 it does help quite a bit imo.

Thanks for the comment! I agree, the ergonomics on M&Ps is hard to beat. It's a really tough decision to have to choose!
I love Glock guns and think that they are extremely reliable, but in terms of ergonomics and comfortability my M&P shield fits my hands perfectly.

Darryl Bartholomew thinking about getting the gen 5 g26. The ambi controls are one of the reasons I went with the m&p over Glock in the beginning.

Big Johnson Guns & Gear you know I will! On it now.

Walther PPS M2 for me but out of these two I’d probably take the Shield as I can conceal it better it doesn’t feel like a brick.
It is very hard to make sight comparison when the items, are black and so is the background they are being displayed on.
the 9c has a built in tool for the take down... It's in the grip.
