Back in the day... in the 90's when I flew down Glen Coe 5 or si x times, each time different, we didn't have any go pro and we just did it. Every flight was a jaw dropping adventure. I got a feel for the valley as you fly down, the various Munros... Even the places we ended up. There is a convergence over the bridge, Jason flew over the lock and ended up near Mull, retrieved by a rowing boat.
Just brilliant! You make such wonderful HG videos! I really appreciate your efforts, they are my go to videos when I have people over. They look fantastic on my 65" TV and everyone is always impressed.
Thanks Sean, I use two mounts: the wing mounted camera is is feiyu tech G4 gimbal for the Gopro, it is getting pretty old tech now. I'm sure there is much better gimbals out there now. The one on my upright which you can see in the thumbnail/main photo is a home made goose neck mount that I created from the basic flytech camera bracket and a goose neck from a desktop lamp that I butchered!
Thanks, I know, I was very tempted to go further or bigger on the triangle, definitely could have for sure but was just so happy to fly over Ben Nevis. I also didnt have a retrieve driver and needed to head home that evening. Next time maybe 🤞
@@PlaneDelta retrieval is ALWAYS an issue for us... :-) Do you have the flight track uploaded somewhere where I could have a look ? Thanks again -> new sub !
Amazing vid! I'd love to be able to put something together of such quality one day. How long would something like this take to edit and get finished? Also what mount are you using that keeps the horizon so level? I need one!
Wow, thanks Dave, really glad you liked the video. The mount I use to keep things on the horizon is a feiyu tech G4 gimbal for the GoPro. It’s pretty old tech now and there is plenty of newer kit out there. This one took me a bit longer than normal to edit, maybe a couple of weeks because I was learning a new editing software called Davinci Resolve. It has a really awesome free version which I would really recommend. However, you do need quite a powerful computer/laptop to run it. Good luck!
It's a kobo + bluefly vario/gps running XCSOAR. The pod was from Sasha, not sure if she does that style anymore? delta-goodies.com/product-category/hang-gliding-goodies/vario-pods-and-brackets/page/2

I really like the idea of bringing the glider to launch site by chairlift. Nice video!
Straight in at number 1 - my new all time favourite hang gliding video. Lovely job, Steve.

Superb ! Any particular reason you "only" went to Ben Nevis ? The day looks as if you could have gone a lot further. Besides that: wonderful video !

What is the second instrument next to the 6030 in your instrument pod? Is it connected by bluetooth to the 6030? Where did you get the pod?
