Absolutely beautiful Gretchen!!!!
This looks and sounds absolutely scrumptious!! Well done Gretchen!
The derring-do required to freestyle this towering trifle made me marvel! But it turned out beautiful and festive looking. Thanks for posting : )
I'm a new viewer and instant subscriber! I love the way Gretchen explains things and her cakes always look spectacular! I was looking for a whipped cream comparison and got sucked in watching more videos. I'm so happy I found this lovely lady's channel! 😍
YAY! thank you so much! I am so happy you are loving it!
All I want for Christmas is this cake🥺 and silda's jam
Absolutely mouth-watering recipe, Gretchen! Phenomenal creation as always!
One correction: some cream sherry is actually vegan. The "cream" is not from dairy, but from a comparison to traditional sherry - nicknamed "Bristol's milk", made when it was created ("if that's milk, then this is cream!"). But like wine and beer, it's the fining agents used to filter it which makes some sherries not vegan. A quick search on Barnivore reveals these brands of cream sherry are all 100% vegan, confirmed in writing by their manufacturers: Waitrose, Montecillo, Hunt Country, Goose Watch, Sainsbury's Sweet Pale Cream Sherry.
(The popular Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry is NOT vegan, which they state on their own website)
Good information. 👍🏻
While I did not mention that in the video, I realize it’s not “cream” in cream sherry but the isinglass that makes it not vegan.
I was not aware of those vegan brands though, Thank you
@@GretchensVeganBakery You're welcome! I home it helps some of your viewers as well. I've never tasted sherry or vermouth so I'm not sure of the difference. Maybe I'll try baking with both!
Never tried making trifle with jam. We normally make it with jelly (Jello) in Australia. Maybe it’s an Aussie thing.
It looks very English. The sorted foods guys put jam on a chocolate cake. I don't know about that but your trifle looks awesome.
Thank you! While I love me some chocolate cake~ traditional trifle is definitely vanilla sponge!
Anyone who says to me but vegan desserts are boring--is getting your video! This is stunningly beautiful and looks beyond delicious. Thank you!!!
So you're monojamous now? 😊 Your courage was rewarded with this one. Spectacular.
Yes. It’s very serious 🧐 😆
Ohh boy. Nice one lol 🤦🤭
Love this Gretchen! I need to buy some of that clear film to make a mould for the cake because I really wanna do a cake like this with the fruit compote
This cake is a WOOOOW!!! I am going to make this!! Thank you for sharing this 🤩🤩
Slogan "Silda's. That's my jam"
LOL that's awesome!
For viewers here who abstain from alcohol, could they instead use the alcohol-free Olive Nation Sherry Flavor, perhaps thinned with water or some other liquid?
I remember you've raved about some of their extracts, like their spiced rum flavor (which actually has alcohol, according to their site).
Yes! Absolutely. I think i mentioned some people simply use fruit juice or non alcoholic sparkling wine
But there’s also a company (the name escapes me) that sells non alcoholic spirits
More power to your lower processed sugar recipe featuring the really good Silda's jams that would make perfect special gifts with the little wooden spoons.
But why not put it in a bowl? You are so daring.
#1 I can't find my trifle bowl :D
#2 I really wanted it to be a cake :D
Its gorgeous!!!😍😍
Very beautiful
This is fantastic!
