I’ve been Googling “fitted waist blazer” and “classic fit blazer” for years, until my fingers nearly fell off. I never bought an oversized one, I hate them on me, I’m just too small. Finally, classic, shaped-waist, fitted blazers are back! I thought designers would never listen. But, the first few fitted-waist ones sold out in less than an hour, so they finally got the message. I want to look feminine, not like a linebacker! Classic, timeless styles in natural fabrics: always and forever!❤

I am the size of a 12 year old and never could do oversize, but I've had some luck with the longer blazers (fitted at the shoulders and at the waist, just longer). I wear them with short skirts.

Loving the ladylike look. I still have my MaxMara sherpa coat. Not very useful in South Africa where I currently live, but great for South American winters and chilly European winters too. I am sure it's old fashioned, but it was stylish in its day, so now I embrace the vintage look😂

All set with my leather flight jacket, my pinstripe suit, plaids already in my wardrobe. Love how the pleats on my recent dress purchases start at the low hip, for an even more flattering feminine style.

Ah, yes, autumn, my favourite season for the timeless, classic and sensible styles.
Thanks so much for the great update and the joy with which you presented it. I had a good giggle with you 😅.
Three years ago, I made a major move, back to the US. In the process of scaling down and simplifying my life, I purged my wardrobe of all so-so pieces but held on to the timeless ones and, guess what, my simple black, long cape also. It’s at least 40 years old but the quality is so good that it still looks like new. It’s very dashing, especially when I add a black fedora hat 😊.
I have also kept a faux fur, hip length waist coat that I pair with trousers and even an inexpensive midi jean skirt and boots, including wellies with a wedge heel - practical but with a touch of style - because I live in Oregon, the Pacific Northwest, where our winters are cold and very wet. No point in looking like the abdominal snow man, right?

I agree with you about the Frumpy Style that has been "on trend for years" - not for me! I used to buy Vogue magazine to see what styles were coming out, but for several years, it was scary! Not feminine at all - your video is funny and inspiring, so thank you!

Very excited to see Talbots new line of Luxe Ponte suit separates. This season, three pieces come in black and a rich burgundy, more of a maroon actually, a blazer, skirt and trouser. Very nicely added to the pieces with which I am currently working.

Oh my god my black cashmere blend winter coat has the SAME silhouette as the Chanel cape!!! I will wear the heck out of it this fall and winter!!! As an aside, I need a pleated maxi skirt!

I have a pair of leather pants…I’ve had them for 4 years and I absolutely adore them. Dress up or down…I usually pair them with high heels or a cool boot.

I love leather and suede! Preferably on my feet. Love plaid and princess cut sillouettes. I like jackets or cardigans that are nipped in at the waist, or belted. Always natural fabrics: cotton, linen, silk, wool, leather… nothing fake. It would be nice if regular clothes for regular people were more readily available in stores. A nod to these fashions for regular every day wear would be like finding a plaid or animal print belt… impossible to find. Or plaid or animal print trim on jean or jacket pockets or jewelry.
I like the layered necklace look.
It does take a little while for more wearable items to make their way into the shops Leah - shop your closet for pieces that may be there from the last time these trends were in - that is what I do 😃
I love suede, especially if I want to wear something in black leather, black suede is just a bit softer-looking than smooth leather, so it suits my Soft coloring type better.

Yes, I do have jackets, skirts, dresses and a long belted coat all in leather, including suede. Your leather snake skin boots are to die for and your Bariloche blazer is gorgeous! I love the short leather jacket you wear, I've been looking for one, I found one at my thrift store similar to yours last year and didn't buy it, now can't find one there, but I save enough buying thrifty that I can afford to buy retail 😅. Still looking. Absolutely love your style, I'm almost 63, your tips have helped me get out of a not caring about how I look.

Her style is better and better each year and she looks more radiant than she did years ago. She’s doing something right ;). I’m not yet 50, short, and not as slim but she has inspired me to dress the best I can at the height and weight I am. I’ve been keeping a style journal as she suggests and it has made getting dressed exciting and fun. She’s got it going on and it’s rubbing off on a lot of us

elegant, feminine!!! omg Marie-Anne, it's like me placing autumn fashion, I have it all in my closet, I even bought a beige suede coat, lots of leopard print of course (not to be fashionable, but because I love it and I totally had to to renew my wardrobe after several years of apathy), and silver, for which I have a program in my head to wear only in the evening...
Marie-Anne, could you say more about this? A silver blazer during the day is a bit too much, isn't it? I'm scared because I tend to try a little too hard, every time I look in the mirror I think of Coco... especially when I dress casual, it's so boring for me without accessories...

There are some stunning trends coming through. Those capes look gorgeous. I have a really nice faux leather jacket in a plum colour that ive wanted to wear this winter (in southern hemisphere), but all ive done is play dress ups a few times and sadly put it away as its been too warm to wear it. Im ever so slightly jelous of your beautiful winter fashions and trenchcoats as i walked the dog in shorts and tshirt yesterday.

Enjoyed this video too. I have a lot of cardigans in different styels and colors. My black leather jacket unfortunately don't fit me any longer, og my sued jacket suddenly moved to my daugther. My red leather jacket is unfortunately totally out of fashion, got it in the late 80ties, also with red leather jeans. But fortunately I made myself a bourdaux skirt last winter, and also a pleated one, so I might get a bit in fashion after all.

Your videos are such fun to watch. Thanks for keeping us updated on the newest trends. I prefer leather over "vegan leather". I have leather pieces that use that are around 30 years old, unlike "vegan leather which might last one season. IMO, leather is better for the environment.

I enjoy your channel usually (and I am the same age as you), but I would never wear sheepskin or leather. I believe that beauty includes kindness to all creatures.
She's just reporting what she sees on the runway. Pleather exists as well as faux sheepskin and faux fur.

Look second hand for furs and leather that are already in the consumer stream. It's far more environmentally friendly than faux over-consumption and will last generations when well cared for, unlike faux anything.
Faux is basically plastics that degrade into Earth polluting toxic nano particles. Tough call. My real leather pants & jacket are 20+ years old and still look new. And, they are biodegradable. They’ll outlast me. The fakes are good for a season or two. I have pass me down shearlings. Faux leather & faux fur isn’t a good solution nor is fake wool that doesn’t last.

Finnally! Cardigans will be in again. Personally I prefer a cardigan instead of a blazer any day. Perhaps because I live in Denmark with 4 very different seasons.

The big-name fashion houses are behind the times. I already have several of these trendy patterns in my closet. They've been my closet from 1 to 3 years, depending on when I purchased it. I shop from a plus-size store that my mom used to shop from many years ago. They went from selling the typical old lady-ish style clothing to a modern, more appealing style of clothing about 25yrs ago.
They cycle through trends relentlessly Lady J🙁

Some of those trends are actually wearable for us "normal" folk, I think, and many are delightfully feminine. Some I won't be wearing because they just don't suit me, but others will, so I look forward to creating outfits. And in fact, I actually have a couple of capes, one of which is a check - although I won't be wearing it because it's sort of a ginger/orange colour, which is a dreadful colour on me (why did I buy it, you may ask? it was back in the 70s, when it was fashionable and before I learned what colours I look best in and which I don't!).
I always try to chose the most wearable Pat 😃 only ever choose the trends that suit and flatter you 👍 The 70s really killed style 😬 growing up in the 70s I can vouch for that 😉

Love the feminine trends. I have a black biker jacket. I'm looking forward to wear snake skin shoes. That autumn/winter fashion is beautiful, but we are heading to spring and summer so it's still Bardot tops and pencil skirts and also wide leg linen trousers for us here Downunder...always late of the rest of the world, but we get there eventually. nice video. I personally love Dior under the direction of Maria Grazia. I like both oversized and the 8 by Christian Dior. This fall it doesn't have an hourglass but rather a reference to the elegant 60s. I like that. Yes, I hope that Dior brings out a nice, affordable redy-clothed dress in the style of the Haute Coature dresses you showed, for the summer. The plan was to combine casualness with elegance and create elegance under the theme of sport. I 💘 this collection. Yes, I like plaid too. Leo print is not my taste.
