I went back to GW to pick up 2 paint pots to fix a ceramic, I was astonished that it was 22 bucks for 2 paints. I don't understand how they're in business when better paints are available online, plenty of second hand first party models, so many second party models and 3d printers go brr. I think GW is in an unsustainable business model, their most valuable asset is their IP but the company survives on the much smaller contingent of people always buying new models and supplements and I think that's the easiest part to replace.
No it's not, GW is a premium product bit also a luxury, in a time when people are struggling finicially raising your price when you make record profit rusks bursting the bubble. The PR benefit alone they would have got by holding prices would have helped increase profits.
Its cheaper to just invest in yourself and get a 3D resin printer. You save tons of money on the backend, get to learn a cool new hobby and GW can no longer screw you over.
The increase percentage is reasonable, what makes the new prices unreasonable is the starting point of the current prices. That said, it’s completely up to the individual if they’re willing to pay the new prices. It’s a luxury. No one needs toy soldiers, and there are plenty of alternative sources.
That's a very fair point. Previous, above inflation, increases and the finger-in-the-air starting point for some of the Old World models (eg Grail Knights) mean the starting point was high. The speed that stuff sells out though suggests lots of people will pay no matter how much they complain about the price.
The problem is that we don’t and can’t know how many copies of each box they make, so we can’t judge popularity based on individual items selling out. AoS Dominion would be a case in point. Also, my FLGS still has the Cities of Sigmar starting army box on the shelf. Warcry boxes don’t sell out like Kill Team boxes did. It just seems to be the 40k stuff that really moves. Old World stuff is selling well, but who knows how much they made?

Isn't this like their 10 price hike in a year?
Phones and plastic toys are not the same thing. Dethrone the emperor he does not deserve us.

It will be the end of GW I tell ya !
Just like everything else they do is
Strange that they just keep on making more and more profits though
Well it’s ridiculous but the GW shills and fanboys will keep on whaling so it is what it is. I’ll stick to my 3D printer
No, not even close. it is ridicolous and have always been.
