As someone who is an atheist, the resilience and overcoming shown is beautiful. At the end no matter what spiritual choice we make the main thing is how we understand our part within a really tough situation like that. Thanks a lot for opening up this story to all of us
Thanks! I've had Atheists on the show as well (check out the episode with Lane Wagner), and the whole premise is that I myself was an atheist for 20+ years. I am happy that you're here, and please keep coming!
I'm not a religious person however I am a staunch believer in the non-dual nature of things. It's striking how much what you talk about resembles many of the teachings of non-duality at it's core. Buddhism, Zen, Hinduism etc. Many concepts are repeated: one entity in control of everything (except one entity IS everything), as such we are all god / that which makes up the one thing, free-will doesn't really exist how we think it does, we aren't in control of anything, what's going to happen was always going to happen, there is no self or people, only stories we make up about what we perceive. I buy into the Christian story, but not necessarily believing the stories at face value. I think like you're both alluding to, they are often wonderful analogies for a deeper meaning. Much respect to you both, we are all one!
@@the_savefile I definitely am not an atheist and I don't dispute anything you say since you clearly have spent much more time than I understanding the theology. I just find it absolutely fascinating that the core of the message of Christianity is shared by many other religions throughout history. There's something to that. Thanks for the great video again!
Aaron's testimony is powerful. I, too, am a misty eye person when it comes to my testimony of God's glory and power. Praise God for His sovereign will and His grace.
54:00 The book being referred to is "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl, he outlines the basis of his theory of psychology called "Logotherapy" that is "based on the premise that the primary motivational force of an individual is to find a meaning in life."
@@the_savefile I was also still an atheist when I read it, or a christian atheist whatever where I believed in the rationality of belief and meaning but wasn't necessarily spiritual and actually believed in the metaphysical. I think the book that really turned me was "Man and his symbols" by Carl Jung. Initially I just interpreted my dreams, which was powerful enough to make me believe in something beyond, however once I started interpreting the symbols that appeared in my waking life there really was no turning back.
Man, I love this. I am so glad I found this channel. I can't wait to watch more of these. And hey, if you wanna interview a not-so-nice Mormon I'll go on the show xD
Aaron's story hit so close for me. Thank you so much for sharing.
❤❤❤ I came here from Twitter. Specifically for 19:00 . God bless you Aaron
❤ thank you

The resurrection itself is not an allegory, but a historical event. Understanding that is what did away with my 20+ years of atheism.

This is so good. Thank you Aaron for sharing your testimony. This glorifies the Lord and through you, His grace and sovereignty was proclaimed.
I am glad you enjoyed it, Jeff!

yes, thanks! As I age I am having more problems remembering names =)
This is a great book, that I read many years ago, still as an atheist.

the original quote was by Nietzsche
"If we have our own why in life, we shall get along with almost any how."

Fantastic series!!
loved the video, but the host needs to be bit more receptive and present
Jesus is not God, he is a messenger of God.
you are free to believe that, but the evidence is overwhelming in the direction of his divinity.
