I couldn't trust EA to make a good EAW even if they used Petroglyph. I'd expect minimal content, no modding capability, and microtransactions.

It is, in a way. There is a mod called 'Star Wars: Empire at War Remake.
It's basically a remake of the game.

Oh don't forget that you will need to buy technology, and heroes come in loot boxes (Not including any ships they come with in the original game, those must be won in a loot box separately). Corruption costs $3.99 to add and $7.99 to remove.

@@aggroknight4259 Trust me, if it's EA, they will EA-ventually (Sorry not sorry) find a way. I mean did you see how Battlefront 2 (The shitty one) was made? You used to have to play for 40 hours in order to unlock any GOOD heroes like Vader or Luke, or just buy your credits. It didn't take account to how well you played, just how much you played. And you know what they did after that? They thought by putting out some "PR Message" on Reddit would get the criticism to stop. It was the most downvoted comment in Reddit's history. The only reason that their nefarious deeds were stopped was because Disney was losing money and getting unbearable hate from it that they told EA if that they didn't stop all in-game transactions that are not cosmetic, they would rip whatever contract they have between them. This was one of the few things that actually got people to like Disney again after they obtained Star Wars. However this is only temporary before they try some new shitty thing to con people out of money again.

You basically said that a remake of this game would be sold entirely as paid DLC, all sold separately for each individual feature of the game. That's so absurd, that while I can't guarantee anything, can safely assume that games will never be diced up that badly in the future. There's so much opposition and backlash as is, and most other game companies are against, or don't go very far with the kinds of practices EA does.
DLC and lootbox systems do exist in other games, but in most cases they're relatively harmless, with the exception of mobile games.
You forgot about all the microtransactions.

But honestly, there are mods for EaW like Empire Remake, that look far more realistic with their space battles than anything BF has.
I don't know if anyone knows this, but if you are familiar with the surprise update that EaW that happened about a month ago to make it possible (and easier) to play multiplayer with other people. Then it may come a bit of a shock that the devs that worked on EAW are watching the EAW community to see if they want a EAW2. It was said during the update and this is what it said - ""We have continued to watch the EAW community closely over the years and appreciate all the excellent support you have given us and the game," Petroglyph said. "Our thanks to all of you for the great feedback, awesome mod packs, and overwhelmingly positive reviews and Disney for facilitating the release of this work. We hope you enjoy this special update." So it is not impossible that there might actually be a second one in the near future.
Star wars empire at war with Battlefront 2 graphics ! I love it ! If it was only possible
The only thing missing is that you can not attack enemy ships and capture them. See in a small game window, rebel boarding troops fighting in the ship for his capture.
We know that the rebels captured a star destroyer and a super-destructive star.
So why not add that, even in mods
+yanis Zoo boarding would be interesting but trying to command troops fighting inside ships would be hectic and it would also be hard to program

Yeah but the ATATs and Imperial star destroyers are in the Imperial lootcrateb, in which you have to find 5 cards just to get one type of star destroyer.

well, i believe the origonal creator of empire at war did make a Republic at War for the prequals, and I think a sequel game exists through modding...

Not bad, the graphic quality was the biggest EaW problem. It's just suck comparing to other games even couple of years older.
Galvars try the Empire at War Remake mod, it makes it look way more modern.
It do look better. But I remember when first time EaW enter the stage and I was surprised how bad it did look. Optimization was terrible and I did compare it to the older... and I'm just ashamed that I did forget it whole name. Hagemon, Heagemon... it was similar to Homeworld, RTS in space. It did look so much better in every aspects.
How? I thought the graphics looked more than fine. It was the balancing issue in FoC that was an issue if you ask me. Still great game nevertheless
In comparing to the same time games or even as I mention older the graphics was very mediocre. I was very surprised how bad it was in comparing to the spec demands. Probably the cases of very bad optimization.

this might be the project and release of the century if this was created. Empire at war is my alltime FAvorite star wars game. and I think that it could be the number one star wars game if made with what we have today. as long as some money hording company does not make it
