We really like the FAE heads (ours is private branded by CAT ). These heads are extremely durable and produce a good mulch product for our area. Teeth last 300-450 hrs if we stay out of the hard rock areas. Love the Taki for steep terrain and the soft stuff, but only got 360 hrs out of the first set of tracks. The Ozark rocks are hard on rubber tracks but the original tracks started shedding rubber off the cables in large strips at 350 hrs rather than wearing out.

The High flow option has been available on the TL250 for a couple years in the USA

Nice job.. have the same head on a cat 289c the head has about 2500 hours with no major issues. We're in the granite state so I hear you on the rocks being hard on stuff

The CAT branded mulcher (made by FAE) only has C type teeth available. We run at 3450 relief pressure and 40 gal/minute and the mulcher responds well.

Having replaced a CAT machine with the XPS high flow with the Taki, I specified 3450 PSI pressure relief from the dealer.

Taki high flow system with a CAT branded mulcher made by FAE, same as the older model 2 bolt 150 size head.

What is the mulching head that you are using? What is the tooth life like on it? How do you find the Takeuchi does in the terrains that you work in?

I have a Tak as well ... is there any reason that you only went the 150 and not the 175 vt model ?

How easy/hard is it to pull/push cedars out of the ground and then stacking them to burn once they have dried? I'm interested in having this done on the family farm in Lebanon.

It’s called vegetation management. Believe me, the vegetation usually wins the fight.

Even in poor rocky ground like this, those little cedars he's cutting don't look anywhere near 50 years old. And I grew up in the South Carolina Piedmont amid plenty of cedars. All he's doing is making it possible for the landowner to ride the fence line with an ATV or small pickup and check the fence,, which is essential if you're running livestock.
