1989 in France , I listen to "disintegration" on repeat in my room, I am 19 years old and a tormented adolescence between love and the desire to travel the world...And no it is 2024, I am 54 years old, I am achieved wisdom and I still travel the world and listen to The Cure over and over again in my living room....😍😍😄
When I was a teenager, The Cure sang about my life, how I felt and who I was. Now in my fifties, they find a way to do it again. Magical and melancholic, tragic and beautiful. Stunning. 😢
@@davetaylor2982 oh . That was a lovely way of saying what we all feel btw. I had like 3 paragraphs to just really wanting to say what u did . Damn did they do good. The banshees got that magic too. And the song catalogs to redo and play differently.u2 also.. dcd is bucket list for sure. I had 4 front row.dead center seats. And covoid ruined 😒.
My brother Egan introduced me to The Cure 45 years ago. He and I were very close & had a special bond being only 3 years apart in age. Some of my favorite memories are of my brother and I going to concerts together, especially to see The Cure. My brother died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 41 many years ago. Shocked and bewildered by his loss, still to this day I grieve as if he just died. Some connections run so deep that a part of you dies along with the loss of your beloved. Despite this, I can still smile sometimes when pleasant memories surface. The Cure are my favorite band of all time. Robert Smith reminds me so much of my brother, his tenderness, charming awkwardness, brilliance and his pure innocent soul. He also looks a bit like my brother. As many others have said, their music was, and continues to be, the soundtrack to my life. I can't imagine a world without The Cure and I feel so lucky to be born in an era where I can experience them. This song in particular is as beautiful and poignant as it is cathartic. Thank you, Robert Smith, for sharing your heartfelt and wonderful poetic gift with the world. Thank you, Egan, for introducing me to The Cure. Maybe we'll meet again in another lifetime.
When I was younger, I used to listen to The Cure with my friends to forget my sadness. Now I listen to The Cure with my sadness to remember my friends.... To The Cure, Thank you for always being a constant in my life and countless others. x
My older brother Robert died suddenly in his bed. I found him face up ,one stary morning! He just died!!! No reason!!! No rhyme!! I'm so shattered broken!!!! I said goodbye and kissed him on the forehead as he laid motionless.i haven't stopped crying
Tears are rolling down my face, Robert I feel your pain. Sending healing hugs to everyone watching this with an aching heart for a brother gone too soon. ❤
I never knew I like the Cure so much. I just remember listening to seventeenth seconds as a 15 year old kid and feeling an immense sensation. It the same now. Robert voice really age like fine wine, the crack in his voice are even more beautiful now that we get closer to this mortal coil...
I have been a fan since the 80s and finally last year I saw them in Glasgow . His love of his craft is so evident on stage , he connects in the most humbling way with his audience and then he invites them in on the wonderful journey through every set . He's quite simply sublime as are the band . I love love love this track ❤
This band is the closest i can get to my dad, who passed away 8 years ago now, he loved alot of bands, but i remember asking him for his favorite band, it was The Cure without a doubt.
❤ my sister saw you play in Holland and took a photo in 1986. I kept it!😂 Distinctively my 80s here in Australia. We went to London to get my sister home, as we watched the Chernobyl nuclear cloud float in on the horizon over the Channel. I remember seeing sheep marked with an X, the fish dying in the pond in my Uncles garden and the pears falling dead from the tree. 😢 I listen to this now, and that feeling in 1986 floated back. It was terrifying. And here we are again on the edge of nuclear disaster ... something wicked this way comes. It is a choice this time people. Put down the polarization and wake up world. Life is our greatest treasure. How many stupid wars does it take for people to work this out, seriously. It is ridiculous. Haunting to the Cure.❤
I'm going to be 50 next year, my parents are in their late 80s I feel the time ticking louder than ever and making the most of time I can...I can never say goodbye and cherish all I can. This is such a feeling I get. Wow what a great album considering all the changes I'm facing. The cure have been by my side. Thanks for the amazing music. Hugs

I feel like I’m 20 again listening to my favourite band of all time! So great seeing Perry is still playing too, I hope he remains as a permanent member again.
I first heard this song off a live recording two years ago. Around that time my grandmother left this earth and this song carried me through. I winter sewed poppies on the 1 year anniversary of hers passing and they flourished in the spring. This song has been a great comfort to me. Thank you Robert Smith.
Listening from Ireland. Brilliant, great music, from keyboard,to drums, to guitar, to base,.....and then the most spectacular, voice of Robert Smith ❤❤❤
I am not a per se The Cure fan. But they were part of my growing up. I am a Techno guy (disco) But today is Friday and I'm in love. You can clearly hear the way they handle music - instruments and most important vocals - this is The Cure as I remember them. Very strong comeback - to YOU the real The Cure fans - I wish you well and congratulations - you can just revive your love :)
Grandi!!!!
Dude this album is amazing, deft top tier Cure - Every song is brilliant, I loved how they song build up too - and END SONG is fuckin EPIC. it's wild after all these years how his voice hasn't changed. Such a legendary band.
The Cure are without doubt one of the best bands of all time. Musically and vocally, their songs take to on a journey. Considering they were very prominent throughout the 80's, there songs are ageless, and do not have the 80's tag. They are without doubt, one of the most influential bands that have been at the top of their game from day one. Rob Smith pours his heart out in this particular song, where he is paying tribute to his late brother. The Cure are true pioneers of the music industry. Total respect to a band that have stood the test of time. I salute you. ✊✊✊🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏
I was very fortunate to see The Cure in Toronto last year and when they played this beautiful song it immediately made me think of my brother Rodney. 3 years gone and I still don't have the words.
Ive been listening to a lot of the early 80s stuff. The musical journey leading here is amazing and the bands most personal stuff. The album is the realization that at a certain point theres more of your life behind you that in front. Turning 60 I can really relate to that. Seems that we all have suffered a extreme amount of loss and pain in the last five years or so.
That first riff, the jump down in scale is just beautiful. I’m liking this best so far out of the 4 tracks on the new album that I’ve yet heard. Very groovin’
I just asked my dear dead brother what he wanted to listen to 🎧 It was The Cure, of course 🤩 I decided to play whatever came up 1st. This was the tune & it was so very fitting ✌️💙🎵

Robert's voice is timeless pure perfection
E pensare che da ragazzo non voleva cantare, avrebbe voluto fare solo il chitarrista, così ho letto...😉
He's voiced hasn't changed a bit has it. Great to see them back!
I love Robert's vulnerable voice. 🌌🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

The Cure reach their peak at the age of 65 😀 it's magic, and real emotions
Crazy. How is it that they are better than I remember?
Definitely one of their peaks lol
This is one of the most beautiful and saddest songs I've ever heard.
In memory of my brother Steven Smith. I love you bro. Thanks
Was für ein Glück das noch erleben zu dürfen .
Das kann man wohl sagen !
The Cure continues to evolve after all these years...how many great songs have they written??? Another masterpiece by Robert Smith...thank-you!!!
How many bands come back after a long hiatus and smash it out of the park?? Only this band. The Cure are THE band....
To those, where our loved ones have dearly departed, but we didn't get a chance to say goodbye to... this song is for all of us.

This is such a beautiful track and represents the type of melancholy that only The Cure can capture.
That voice.. unmistakable!

Incredible! SO excited for the new album tomorrow!!!!
We listened to this song over and over on our way back from the Texas Coast this weekend.
Simon Gallup is one of the best bassists ever, and The Cure is one of the best bands in history. They're so underrated
Very brilliant. They played perfectly. Rober Smith voice is superlative.
rip x 😢
Thunder rolling in to drown
November moon in cold black rain
This lightning splits the sky apart
And whispering his name
He has to wake up
Love slipping away
Hear the bells beyond the sea
It's almost too late
Shadows growing closer now
And there is nowhere left to hide
And I can't wake this dreamless sleep
However hard I try
I'm down on my knees
And empty inside
[Chorus]
Something wicked this way comes
From out the cruel and treacherous night
Something wicked this way comes
To steal away my brother's lifе
Something wicked this way comes
I dan nеver say goodbye
Pure class, always have been, always will be.
I just love The Cure! And this performance is beyond amazing!
