Big Ron would definetly have one of the 'mumbo for mayor' music discs. Not because that's what he listens to; it was a gift from his grand daughter (He doesn't like it specifically, but is fond of his grand daughter so he keeps it).
I love how at the end Mumbo says "I made my first ever tree" as you see his whole forest in the background that he made in prior episodes. I imagine the trees are saying "what am I, a roach?"
I've got an idea how to get you save out of court - sue the firework shop for annoyance but do it so badly, the owner wins, an then you've got a case to refer to in your own matter!
Mumbo is a miner. He mines iron. You can't sue a minor in court. And nobody knows if you are saying miner or minor in court. There could be some hilarious Who's on first type bits there with that argument in court. So much confusion over two words pronounced identically.
21:45 Mumbo No! Open fires in a workshop are very dangerous. Sawdust is CRAZY flammable and exposing an open flame to a space filled with sawdust can cause an explosion. We use heatlamps to warm a cold shop.
When Grian arrived I thought there definitely would be some nonsense and shenanigannery going on this episode. But somehow, that wasn't the case, just pure building without anything else really attached!
Only a few minutes into the video but Joel has just made a record shop in the shopping district so you can get personalised records and stuff for Big Ron's there!
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the beautiful nuance of Mumbo’s season 10? Every episode is imbued with the same quirky charm that keeps me around. I think Mumbo’s transformation this season is a beacon of hope for creatives. Season 9 Mumbo was more timid with building and exploring fun concepts in Minecraft, but, after taking trips and exploring other creative outlets, has come back stronger than ever. Mumbo’s journey has been a real inspiration for me.
I really like Grian's advice to build because I do the same thing. For something random/natural, you get the general shape, while not worrying about it being chunky, because you can always remove and modify, but you need a strong base. Sometimes its better to deliberately make something chuncky-er to then take away, then worrying about adding too much. Just don't stark worrying if its not chucky enough, because you should worry about making it thinner later on to detail. Addition via subtraction is the end goal. If you can't see yourself taking away, then just add more and more without thinking about it too hard until you get to a shape you can happily terraform!
Big Ron definitely jams in the workshop to Miami Nights 1984, it's like a 80s lofi. But I feel like I could see him singing along with some REO Speedwagon while driving the coast in his AMC General Gremlin w/ a bumper sticker featuring some binary code and below it saying "It's really quite simple" 😎🔥
You should put some of that wart grass (or whatever it’s called, i forget rn) and put that on top of the “leaves” of the tree for your wart shop. Just like putting the vines on the bottom to help give it some air, putting the grass on top will do the same thing. Kinda give it a more whispy look and feel
Honestly Mumbo, I totally understand your connection to Big Ron’s, as it is an incredibly important stepping stone in your Builder’s Journey. As many other commenters have pointed out before, you’ve never been a bad builder, and in fact have always had the required skillset to excel at it, even if you never put it to use in the way you wanted. Being a Redstoner that is known for wild ideas and impromptu innovations makes for a builder that cab truly experiment and see great concepts where others can’t. I see Big Ron’s as a sort of stepping off point for your development, the moment where you started Magic Mountain Row and truly committed to a radical new experimental form of concept creation, planning, building, replanning, rebuilding, and really making something your own. Every single one of the builds you’ve made in this season has demonstrated just how magically creative you are, and how you find a concept and truly commit to it. Your longer talks earlier in this season about how you perceive creativity and the creation of things lead me to believe that you always had the skill to do this, the mind needed to put these builds forward. I don’t think you should compare yourself to the other hermits, because that’s like comparing two entirely separate artists and their styles and trying to figure out which one is objectively better; it’s a fruitless act. You are an Artist, Mumbo, whether through Redstone, Building, your Filmography, or anything you truly put your mind to. Whether you realize it or not, a Builder you haven’t become, for you always were.

You should add some pools of water on the second floor of big Ron's where there is meant to be water damage that way when you're on the first floor there are drops coming through. Might have to move the second floor a bit though
3:35 I volunteer in a charity shop that has those drop ceiling tiles and the roof have leaked a couple of times and so some of the tiles have got a brown ring. The circle on the bone block represents that almost perfectly.

Even though the red and blue are very bold colours, they are complementary colors on the RYB colour wheel! This actually makes them work pretty well against each other. Since they're really bold and vibrant colours, we may feel a little more hesitant using them, especially for a tree, but considering they are blocks from the neither - a more "fantastical" place compared to the overworld - I think it's really fitting and looks really good overall - an "artist"
Mumbo stressing so much to make that branch, only for Grian to come back and say "it's nice", I'm actually crying of laughter. Grian comes back, mumbo's forhead is sweating, he's fidlign his thumbs. He's waited for this moment for who knows how long anymore. This is it. Grian says... "it's nice". Mumbo's lfie is complete. He's as happy as he can be. 😂
Interiors are definitely a neglected part of building in Minecraft, and I don’t see it done often. That said, thanks for taking on the challenge. There’s plenty for us to learn here.
Nether warts are the constituants of nether wart blocks; warped sprouts are then in the lore (but not in crafting) the constituants of warped wart blocks. Its like how a leaf is the constiuant of a canopy😅
27:00 That's a good idea. If you hide your product in shulker boxes integrated into the trunk, no one will ever be sure you're completely out of stock.
There’s something super endearing about Mumbo getting nervous about Grian judging his building, especially because I’m the exact same way when I show people my work, no matter what it is. We gotta build up that confidence! Awesome build and awesome video!
It’s always so satisfying watching every single one of your videos. The editing is fantastic your filmmaking skills make even the smallest moments wonderful to watch.
Every mumbo jumbo video has been a delight. Have only been watching since the start of season 10,but have watched past hermitcraft seasons and all of them were spectacular. You make my day every time you upload a video, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Love ya mumbo! (Platonicaly of course) Also i love that bit at the end! Especially where you said "is there anything we can do about keath?" Absolutely helerious, my humor might be as dead as yours, but just the thought that they would wanna dispose of him is hilarious
This season has made me love Mumbuilding on a whole new level, I genuinely see this season as a new Hermitcraft high for Mumbo. I have been loving these episodes. (All I need now is the return of an intro and an outro & I will be in bliss, that would be an all time high)
The nether portal thing at your wart shop looks SO COOL!! I'm so happy you two are doing your wart shop now!! Seeing you guys duel build was really cool
I dont know if anyone has said it earlier but there's a game that released a couple months ago that also has a big ron's. Its a very funny game made by brits named Thank goodness you're here and ron sells pies in that game
5:03 joel sells records in the giant phonograph 👍right next to your tree. im sure you know, but thought i'd say just in case 19:28 no he's so real for that lol me when my friends give vague compliments the interiors look SO good! so many little details and they dont even feel cramped from our perspective! everything feels so full of life! very clever! and the wart shop looks soooo good too, you both did well and you implemented what you were taught so well too! the ground level work adds so much to the shops vibes, and having to climb the trees to pick the blocks is so perfect. well done! the villager spawner thing was very odd... but they should be grateful for infinitely spawning villagers!
Smallish Beans just opened a record shop in the shopping district. Poor Cub, Mumbo would rather go to the Nether to get Nylium when Cub's shop is literally right next door. And Mumbo and Grian are building a competing Nether shop next to it. lol
Not a competing shop, the Hermit Permits prevent competing shops! It's a complimentary shop: Cub sells the Nether Turf (and the wood, potentially), Grian and Mumbo sell the Nether Leaves
Mumbo, if you're adding something chaotic as fence posts or fire all around it, and you want it more neatly, make *small compositions with them!* maybe small groups of 3 or 5. It helps the eye focus on what's important, and it's easier to digest. But if you want to still have a chatoic feel without little groups but still within a composition, make something like a tray-like (aka ground beneath in your case) or something to frame chaotic parts. I hope this helps! I use the same method in interior design and organising stuff, so it might help! (Also to note, in art, this method is subjective, but it's always good to keep in mind what you are trying to achieve, and this might give a new method in working with stuff)
Great video, beautiful shop and interiors, always love a Mumbo video. 27:53 pointing out because it made me smile when he said "I made my first, ever, treee!" And I thought of his forest RIGHT BEHIND him saying "What am I? Living firewood?"
wow the new merch looks fantastic!! i love that it is unmistakably mumbo merch while being artfully subtle and highly stylable. I've been watching hermitcraft for years now but this is the first merch that I feel actually fits my wardrobe. super excited!!
Has anybody noticed that Mumbo's mustache has also started greying out? I thought I was halucinating but checking his skin on NameMC proved me correct, ha also has a bit more gray hair on the sides of his head. Possible mad scientist arc?
I love how claustrophobic Big Ron's feels. It makes me think of a pet frog store I've been to recently. It's just one really narrow corridor with frog enclosures and some other random stuff, like a statue of a dinosaur.
Big Ron is one of two types of fella, either he has a massive Elvis collection and has a greasy, thinning quiff that he still dyes with 'Just for Men', OR he's that obscure, nerdy 'Prog Rock' guy, with a collection of vinyl that no-one has heard of but he will argue is absolutely the core of modern rock and the most important work of . We've all met them.
For Willys Woodyard, I think you could add a lot of bits and bobs with the armour stand tricks you *almost* forgot you learnt. Like a file, steel rule, tri-square, hammer, etc. Even if not that, putting the on and emergency stop buttons lower on the pillar drill is a good use of em. And the thing you put your foot inside so the machine starts to actually work.
This small collaboration on a build with Grian is so good, I love the tree. Also your broken portal idea is great! It's a beatiful transition and it logically connects the tree with the rest of shopping district. Good job!
mumbo's been changing his skin so much im beginning to believe that grians soul that he got in season 8 is taking over and he'll get out of court sentencing because he is no longer mumbo
The Big Ron test: 1. Are you big? 2. Is your name Ron? If both yes- you’re Big Ron If either no- you’re not Big Ron Hope that helps clear things up for you Mr. Jumbo
I enjoy the thought that Big Ron had several VHS tapes from 1991 where he couldn't convince himself to put them all in the same date category. And VHS tapes were definitely still common through the late 90's. Where is he storing the 1994-1999 box? (He likely had a similar issue when sorting his 1994 tapes.)
5:09 Big Ron strikes me as a "Dad Rock" kind of guy - Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers, Pink Floyd, the Doors, the Who, Yes, Hendrix, Santana. That sort of thing. 4:56 gotta space the speakers out a bit. That soundstage is too narrow for that room, and the speakers are too close to the turntable. Also try blackstone walls instead of end rods, since they have more of a tower speaker vibe.
I’m 26 and it gutted me when I was asked what a vhs is. I grew up using the old film projectors for movies, eight track players, floppy disks… we’re ancient relics of the past Mumbo 😂
20:55 you can actually place the item frames inside the sign, intersecting, and then the wool in the frame, so you get only the wool, poking out the sign
21:03 I'm not entirely sure but I think you could make the on/off switch using armor stands and fit both buttons on a singular item frame without actually placing either of them on the item frame or if you don't like the item frame as a base you can maybe make one yourself using any slabs turned sideways using armor stands. Just a suggestion for a little finer detail
Hope you enjoyed this Hermitcraft episode, it was super fun to make.

Grian comes back, mumbo's forhead is sweating, he's fidlign his thumbs. He's waited for this moment for who knows how long anymore. This is it.
Grian says... "it's nice".
Mumbo's lfie is complete. He's as happy as he can be.
😂
You can put a single water block above one of the wet spots to have drip! 3:14
grian and mumbo interactions never fail to bring a smile on my face !!
Interiors are definitely a neglected part of building in Minecraft, and I don’t see it done often.
That said, thanks for taking on the challenge. There’s plenty for us to learn here.
I like how he builds around the “story” or lore of the building’s inhabitant. That’s a useful tip.
Nether warts are the constituants of nether wart blocks; warped sprouts are then in the lore (but not in crafting) the constituants of warped wart blocks. Its like how a leaf is the constiuant of a canopy😅
27:54 “I’ve made my first ever tree” he says with the forest he created behind him, lol.
JUST IN TIME FOR LUNCH! Thank you Mumbo!
For me its just in time for bed
@@potatoe9453 Same, one of the last vids before sleeping, 9.39pm
@5:08 I feel like Big Ron goes *WILD* whenever "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey comes on :D
And I go wild when that song comes on! It's the best
27:00 That's a good idea. If you hide your product in shulker boxes integrated into the trunk, no one will ever be sure you're completely out of stock.
5:09 Honestly i think he likes country music as a way to rest from all the tech in his shop from time to time
There’s something super endearing about Mumbo getting nervous about Grian judging his building, especially because I’m the exact same way when I show people my work, no matter what it is. We gotta build up that confidence! Awesome build and awesome video!
a little crying obsidian in the ruin portal would tie in well.
5:07 Joel just opened a Record Shop
It’s always so satisfying watching every single one of your videos. The editing is fantastic your filmmaking skills make even the smallest moments wonderful to watch.
MUMBO it’s been like 3 episodes I want the court drama 😭
Here's a slogan idea for your shop:
"You wart it, we got it!"
Also nether warts (as in for brewing potions)can be crafted into a wart block, probably what you were thinking of
Big Ron seems like the type to listen to almost exclusively 80’s music and other stuff from the “good old days”
Every mumbo jumbo video has been a delight. Have only been watching since the start of season 10,but have watched past hermitcraft seasons and all of them were spectacular. You make my day every time you upload a video, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Love ya mumbo! (Platonicaly of course)
Also i love that bit at the end!

5:03 joel sells records in the giant phonograph 👍right next to your tree. im sure you know, but thought i'd say just in case
19:28 no he's so real for that lol me when my friends give vague compliments
the interiors look SO good! so many little details and they dont even feel cramped from our perspective! everything feels so full of life! very clever! and the wart shop looks soooo good too, you both did well and you implemented what you were taught so well too! the ground level work adds so much to the shops vibes, and having to climb the trees to pick the blocks is so perfect. well done! the villager spawner thing was very odd... but they should be grateful for infinitely spawning villagers!
At 3:52 for the damp spots you could add a water block on top to add the water droplet effect
Pour water above the damp spots of the ceiling to have the water drip
Me play and kill dragon lmao that’s cool to see avrage people be so creative
"I'm not getting old. I'm just on my mad scientist arc"
He's about to make life take the lemons back
I love how claustrophobic Big Ron's feels.
Ron is 100% British prog rock
The Big Ron test:
1. Are you big?
2. Is your name Ron?
If both yes- you’re Big Ron
If either no- you’re not Big Ron
Hope that helps clear things up for you Mr. Jumbo
Put water on top of the side up sunken ceiling so it leaks water with particles! would help selling the effect
YES
I enjoy the thought that Big Ron had several VHS tapes from 1991 where he couldn't convince himself to put them all in the same date category.
And VHS tapes were definitely still common through the late 90's. Where is he storing the 1994-1999 box? (He likely had a similar issue when sorting his 1994 tapes.)
Wart is the thing you get from nether fortresses they grow on soulsand and are used to brew stuff
And they say Mumbo's shop is noisy. Cubs is even worse!
2:15 Ron is love, Ron is life
Live, laugh, Ron
Ron on
Keep Ronning
1:50 bro's just self aware that he has just made a living entertaining kids
5:09 I bet that those boxes of VHS aren’t actually real and that he keeps them all for himself and listens to them.
Mumbo: uses water columns and dirt stacks to reach high places while building.
Also Mumbo: uses scaffolding for counters and tables.
I’m 26 and it gutted me when I was asked what a vhs is. I grew up using the old film projectors for movies, eight track players, floppy disks… we’re ancient relics of the past Mumbo 😂
oooh 5 1/2 inch floppies
25 and in the same boat
28:00 “I’ve built my first ever tree”
His whole forest in the background:👁️👄👁️
4:16 potato PTSD.
You don’t even need item frames then, just put the armor stands on the sign
