I actually counted there were 296 coaches of goods and 4 coaches that are at end of every goods train

as a kid, i have always imaginedethat as a small cubby house and would be so fun and cosy in there. But grown up now i think being in there by yourself as an adult is no fun

5,400 MT of turmeric was exported to Bangladesh from Nizamabad in Telangana through Railways last week.
Chill(mirich) was too exported to Bangladesh from Guntur in Andhra pradesh through Railways last week.

Only 2 wag 12 can pulled this empty rack. The main reason is to attach 9 loco is after filling rack with mineral they separated and dispatch to various places. Thanks For watching

Imagine it as a passenger train ppl de-boarding from last coach will end up de-boarding into different stn completely.
Instead of deboarding, if suppose you reached the platform to board a passenger train of such length and you learn that your coach is some 2 kms backward and the train stoppage is for only 2 mins and you have a 50kg of luggage with you, then????

What is great about it. When train traffic is awesomely less, running long size train or at faster speed does not matter. It is automatically possible with much less than normal traffic.
Yes in theory but in practicality imagine the load on the couplers and on each chassis. At some point the wagons near the front would just break due to towing so many behind. This was actually FOUR trains put together with four separate motive-power sets all having to work in concert to ease the strain. At every curve and incline or decline, power at each one has to be adjusted to keep something from breaking and with over 200 wagons it could anything that might break. It is a feat of major proportions - definitely an accomplishment to be respected.
I am sure the Indian Railways crews have got used to running very long trains by now. Expect to see even longer ones in future.
Thank you very much Jonnie for highlighting technical innovations. I am also proud of our Railways Technical and Running staff. Technical wonders keep innovating for past many centuries and each improvement paves ways for further innovation & improvement. My concern was about its possible continuity in running such trains during normal period when our train system gets highly over populated and we still encounter problems of delays, unmanned crossings, etc. Creating something is good but until our infra supports its usage in normal cource, it might remain as mere piece of achievement!

Very commendable ! By having 4 goods trains together -- they have saved 4 signals/siding/re-start and the inherent jams and surely an advantage. I think the freight cargo is different in different trains and, instead of consolidating the cargo, they have consolidated the trains -- 4 trains in this case !! Freight is a very important element in an economy and, its movement should be important. Thanks your time..very informative !

I actually like the name Sheshnag it's justifying the train very much. In addition we need a lot of improvements in railways and it's a gud initiative that atleast someone is doing creative thinking.

@@IndianTravelInfo Anaconda rake is different, amalgamation of 2 freight trains is usually called a Python rake, that of 3 was called Anaconda & now for 4 rakes they named it Sheshnaag.
Both sheshanag and anaconda formation are different. Both were used recently in two different trials by Indian Railways.

238 cars made of four combined trains! I've seen some BNSF intermodal trains that long in America, but they are only made of two combined sections
Those 4 sec will seperate to varoius other locations bro.. and it's a plateau land here so coupling stress is at maximum to prevent coupling from breaking railways thought of this

Again a religious tinge to such a ambitious project,they could have thought of something neutral & more appropriate rather then naming characters from our mythology.Kudos to the team for this flawless execution.Jai Hind.
But why? The mythology is an insaperable part of a cultures identity. You see such names everywhere. What do you think names such as Zaphyr, Titan, zues and atlas are? They are commonly used in Europe and US and they are mythological names. Only a person very intimately familiar with their own culture can come up with such names

Indeed, nice. Yes, I see loco pilots in every set of the train. But is it synced automatically, with the loco pilots at the trailing locos there to check and reporting the sync? Or do the loco pilots sync them manually.

They do it with Diesel
In U.S people say it's very costly to electricifye entire track and they say they have cheap Canadian oil
So they can run trains on Diesel engines for next 200 years 🤷

WOW....SESHNAAG. I thought Python was the longest but SESHNAAG is the longest of all, powered by 9 powerful Electric Locomotives from Indian Railway....masterful stroke. Impressed. I replied to someone from Russia who stated that we do not have 200 wagon trains, and this SESHNAAG has 253 wagons plus five Conductor carriages for the staff after each segment of locomotives. Americans and Europeans have no clue what Indian Railway can achieve.
