I'm a longtime Blender user but the correct scales both for units and grid baffled me. Thank you so much for your detailed explanation. You are amazing!
hi, thanks for the tutorial!!! i'm a beginner and i want to do a keychain round instead: how can i make a round plan? if i add a circle mesh when i do the solidify it doesn't work
Sure, no problem! If you want to make it round, hit Shift + A to bring in a Circle Mesh. Once you do, a menu at the bottom right of the viewport will appear and you'll be able to specify the number of vertices. Make sure to put in a higher number, around 64 since this will affect your print. Size it accordingly and then, Tab into Edit Mode, hit F to fill it so it's a solid mesh. Go back into Object Mode, Apply Transforms (CTRL + A) and then you can add the Solidify modifier as needed. Hope that helps!
