I have watched nearly an hour of Blender tutorials and unfortunately it led me down a path of artistic creation. I was interested in functional. In the first half for your video I learned everything I was looking for. And then after a brief interlude of more artistic Blender, kind of LOL, you added more in depth functionality. You have been bookmarked in my watch again list 😃

Hi, thanks a lot ! I'm back to Blender after a while and notice all those new capacities of the soft. Man !
After a free wheeling alone, my daughter told me about trying on UA-cam. Your tutorial is great and full of those tricks which wouldn't come out my mind.
I shall replay it to pick up quick those keyboard keys that change all.
Normaly: I could follow what I saw. So, just have to repeat it.
    Thanks again **) 🤩

Thanks for this video. I am plugging away and learning it. I did notice that you say press "Shift-R" to bring up the Remesh: Voxelsize grid at 20:05, where I found that just pressing "R" did this. No biggie just wanted to let you know and others who maybe confused when trying to bring the grid up.

    1: Great video!
2: There is actually an even more convenient way to see edge lengths while modelling.
When in edit mode, go to the overlay menu in the top right and under Measurements select edge length. You can also enable edge angle when useful for your model.
This is super nice when manually extruding and moving and scaling and much easier than the MeasureIt plugin.

Question: when joining objects should you always use the Boolean or can you use the join (the command you used to join the three hole cutters)? Will it mess up a 3d print if you’ve used the join rather than Boolean?

I had the same issue. Blender changed a bit so you can now get the add-ons from 'Get Extensions' which is going to be in the Preferences (right above the 'Add-ons' button), then you search for the 'MeasureIt' add-on, install it, then you should be able to search it in the 'Add-on' page. Hope this helped!

i cant seem to get blender to keep accurate scale. I set scale like you show to 0.001 and then create a cube i set it 40mm x 40mm x 8mm and then I select top face and do inset face and then tell it to inset 3mm. When I measure it using measuring tool it shows 5.6mm

For many Years I've tried to learn to use Blender! But they keep on updating the versions changing all the moving and control and using tools and controls and sub menus etc.
And they keep changing it so much, like a new version every two weeks or so! Just when your trying to learn the tons of already complex lists and controls.
There must up to now from version 2.92.0 I was trying to understand so many changed Blender versions I now lost count?
There was at least 11 in the short time I saw of about 1 year after I started to somehow understand how the 2.92.0 version I have was like?
So yeah far to complex even before they kept on changing the versions and what is in them and how they do stuff!
If you can do it and cope with the version keep on changing then lucky you as your a genius, I are not.
I did astronomy, astro-photography, PC building,3D printing. and still not clever enough for this program?
